  • The Amrita Engineering Entrance Exam, or AEEE 2018, is an all India Entrance Exam conducted by the Amrita University, for students seeking admissions into engineering courses like B.Tech/B.E.
  • The AEEE will be conducted in the month of April 2018 both online and offline.
  • The Entrance Exam will be held across 75 cities in the country.
  • Candidates appearing for AEEE can get admission in 3 engineering schools of the University located in Amritapuri, Bengaluru, and Coimbatore.
  • Every year a large number of students appear for AEEE Exam.

AEEE 2018 Important Dates

Important Dates of AEEE 2018:

  • Online Application Form is available from the  1st  of December 2018 onwards.
  • The last date of submission is on or before 31st of  March 2018.
  • Upload of the Admit card starts from the 1st of April 2018.
  • Online (Computer based) AEEE 2018 exam is held on the 20th of April to 23rd of April 2018.
  • Offline (Pen/Pencil based) AEEE exam 2018 is held on the 29th of April 2018.
  • The results will be announced on 5th of May 2018.
  • The counselling commences on the 1st of June 2018.

AEEE 2018 Eligibility

Criteria for AEEE 2018 Eligibility:

  • The Candidates must be born on or after 1 July 1995, to take up AEEE.
  • The candidates must have passed 10th class and 12th class or equivalent from a recognised board.
  • The candidates must have secured a minimum of 60% aggregate in Maths, Physics and Chemistry.
  • The candidates with a minimum of 60% in a diploma course in engineering awarded by any State Board of Technical Education are also eligible.

AEEE 2018 Application Process

Online Application Procedure:

  • To apply for the online exam, the candidates will have to first register on the official website by providing their name and email id and submit other details required.
  • A login password will be sent to the email id of the candidates.
  • Using this password, the candidates can log in to the university’s website.
  • The candidate is now required to pay the application fee of Rs.1000 via credit/debit card or net banking.
  • The candidate should upload the scanned copies of their photograph and signature in the requested format.
  • Once the application is filled, candidates are advised to take the printout of Application form for future use.

Offline Application Procedure:

  • The candidates applying through the offline mode must purchase the OMR printed form worth Rs.1000 from the respective banks, offices or outlets. The Application forms will also be available from the university or its other 3 campuses.
  • The payment of the application fee can be made via Demand Draft in favor of Amrita School of Engineering payable at Coimbatore.
  • The form should be duly filled and all the required documents must be enclosed along with the application form.
  • Once all the formalities are clear, the form should be sent to the university address.

NOTE: To submit an online application; the candidate should fill in the mandatory information without any errors.

AEEE 2018 Application Form Details

Students eligible for AEEE 2018 must make sure to fill and submit the application forms before the final date, 31st March 2018.

  • The application for AEEE 2018 can be filled through both online & offline mode.
  • The online application form can be accessed from the official website of Amrita University
  • The offline application form can be brought from the Amrita University campus against the DD of Rs. 1000 issued in the favor of Amrita School of Engineering, payable at Coimbatore campus.
  • The fees for both online and offline application is Rs.1000, the online payment for which can be paid through net banking /debit card/credit card.

AEEE 2018 Admit Card

Candidates who have applied for AEEE 2018 can download and print admit card from the official website of Amrita University, upon entering enrollment number and other required details.

  • It must be ensured that the admit card details are printed out clearly including name, photo, home address, exam center address and enrollment number.
  • The admit card must be carefully retained until admission procedure is finished.
  • Candidates will not be admitted for the exam if the admit card is tampered with.

Downloading the admit card:

  • Upon successfully submitting the Application Form with all personal details for AEEE 2018 (online or offline), candidates are entitled to receive their exam admit cards
  • AEEE admit cards will be available in the month of April 2018, issued by the exam conducting authority
  • Candidates can download the admit card from the official website of Amrita University after getting exam date and center allotment options were given
  • Candidates must enter their enrollment number in order to download the AEEE 2018 admit card
  • Keep the admit card safe till the completion of the admission procedure

Admit Card Details:

The admit card holds the following details of the candidate:

  • Name.
  • Roll Number.
  • Photograph.
  • Address of the candidate.
  • Venue of the exam centre.

AEEE 2018 Exam Pattern

The format of AEEE 2018:

  • The AEEE exam is conducted in both online mode (Computer based test) and Pen/Paper mode.
  • The exam will be conducted in the month of April 2018.
  • The exam will be in the English language.
  • The core subjects of the AEEE are Maths, Physics and Chemistry.
  • The exam is conducted for a duration of 21/hours.
  • The exam is for a total of 300 marks.
  • 3 marks will be awarded for every correct answer, whereas 1 mark is deducted for every wrong answer.
  • The questions are objective type, where only one out of four options is correct.

AEEE Exam Pattern:

  • Physics exam will have 30 questions in a 90 marks paper.
  • Chemistry exam will have 30 questions in a 90 marks paper.
  • Mathematics exam will have 40 questions in a 120 marks paper.

AEEE 2018 Results

  • The results for AEEE 2018 will be declared on the official website of Amrita University.
  • Candidates can check their results by submitting the enrollment number, date of birth and a given security code.
  • The results for AEEE 2018 are expected on 5th May.
  • The results will reflect the score and merit of the candidates, and they can obtain admission in Amrita University on the basis of AEEE exam scores.
  • A merit list will be prepared on the basis of the performance of the candidate. The merit list for admissions to engineering courses will be published on the official portal of the University.

AEEE 2018 Counselling

  • The candidates must ensure that they carry with them six colour photographs of the size 3.5 X 4.5 cm (passport size) at the time of counseling
  • The candidates must produce their admit card during the counseling session, failing which they will not be allowed. They should preserve the Admit card duly signed by the invigilator till the admission procedure is over in Amrita University.
  • Any counseling letter for AEEE 2018 will not be sent by post for the candidates.The candidate shall ascertain his/her eligibility for admission with respect to age and +2 marks before attending the counseling.
  • In case any candidate is found ineligible for the admission, his/her admission will be cancelled.
  • If the candidates have passed 12th class from the respective state in which the University campus is located, in that case, a certain percentage of seats in each campus will be allotted for the candidates.
  • The maximum intake of students from any state will be restricted in order to ensure admission from all states and a consistency in the admission process followed.
  • The state from which the candidate has studied and +2/ higher secondary will be considered as the criterion to be eligible for allotment of state quota of seats and scholarship.
  • The candidates must be present in person for AEEE counseling 2018 and parent or guardian shall accompany the candidate.


  • The admission to the University is based on the rank secured in the AEEE 2018 Examination. After the result is declared, a cut off the list based on the result is updated. Based on the candidate’s rank, the seats will be allotted.

Eligibility Criteria and Admission Process:
  • Amrita has its own entrance exam since it's a deemed university. The student should apply for the entrance exam which will be conducted during the month of April. The entrance exam is AEEE which stands for amrita entrance examination.
  • The minimum eligibility criteria for the exam is a pass in 10+2 or its equivalent. The exam should be fairly easy with proper preparation.
  • Admission is based on the rank you score in AEEE.
  • A counselling will be held based on the rank. During the counselling session, you can choose your course and college as amrita university has 4 colleges in engineering.
  • You will be allotted seat as per availability. The seats will be served on the basis of rank in AEEE.
  • Electrical and electronics engineering is not a high demand in Amrita Puri campus. So you will be able to get a seat in the course easily.

No! Amrita University is not affiliated with another University. Amrita University is a university established under sec 3 of UGC Act 1956. The university is recognised by UGC and the Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India. 

The University is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council ( NAAC ) with ‘A’ Grade in 2009 and 2014. The HRD Ministry’s Panel Report (2010) on Deemed Universities has also graded Amrita in Category ‘A’.

Beyond this, Amrita University conducts its own entrance exam known as Amrita Entrance Examination - Engineering (AEEE)

The candidate who is interested in admission having a three-year Diploma in engineering can also apply to Amrita Unversity. A minimum of 60% marks is required which can be awarded by State Board of Technical Education or any equivalent University. He/She should also apply for AEEE conducted by Amrita University.
