About AIPMT (now NEET) 2017:

All India Pre Medical Test, commonly abbreviated as AIPMT, is a national level medical entrance examination organised every year by one of the most renowned boards - the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Delhi.

The AIPMT (now NEET) exam is conducted for granting admissions in MBBS and BDS programs offered by several medical colleges across the country. The AIPMT exam will be conducted tentatively in the month of May. The AIPMT (now NEET) application forms will be available from the month of December of the previous year in which the AIPMT examination is conducted.

  • We get admission in GMCH through AIPMT or NEET exam. 85% seats are reserved for the Chandigarh students(those who have done 10th and 12th from a school of Chandigarh) while rest 15% are for all India quota.
  • The typical cut-off for Chandigarh goes high (AIR ranks 100-120 get admission here) but that depends on many factors and varies.

  • Eligibility must be Obtaining 50% aggregate (Biology, Physics, Chemistry) marks in higher secondary examination from any recognised university.
  • Qualifying Entrance examination- NEET/AIPMT.
  • Cutoff- 500 out of 720.
  • Admission procedures- After securing a rank candidate is given choice to fill his application form online and then candidate lock his choices in online counselling.
  • After getting an allotted seat in any medical college across India, the candidate has to appear before the administration department of that allotted college and submit the necessary documents.
  • After verification, the candidate gets admitted to that college by paying the annual fee.
  • Xerox copies of documents are kept in the college and original documents are returned to the candidate after admission process ends.
