Overview of BITSAT 2018:

  • The Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani is an all India Institution declared as Deemed to be University under Section 3 of the UGC Act.
  • Admissions to all the Integrated First Degree Programmes of BITS, Pilani, at Pilani campus, Goa campus, and Hyderabad Campus for the academic year 2018-19 will be made on the basis of a Computer based Online Test conducted by BITS, Pilani.
  • This test will be referred to as BITSAT-2018.
  • BITS administers the all-India computerised competitive entrance examination, BITSAT (BITS Admission Test), Admission is merit-based, as assessed by the BITSAT examination. 
  • The fully residential institute is privately supported.
  • BITSAT 2018 is an admission test conducted for Bachelor’s level and Masters’ level engineering as well as pharmacy courses by the prestigious Birla Institute of Science and Technology. 
  • The examination is taken for admission to their renowned group of colleges.
  • This is a purely merit-based examination and has 0% reservation. 
  • This examination takes place in May and enables candidates to seek admissions for Bachelors’ programs in the three colleges managed by Birla Institute of Technology and science.
  • There are 2000 seats available for which lakhs of students appear year after year.
  • The candidates who satisfy the eligibility criteria can apply for the computer based online examination of BITSAT 2018.
  • The result is followed by the counselling sessions for the candidates.
  • Toppers from all the Education Boards are not required to take up the examination and they are given direct admissions to any of the BITS campuses.

Note: 

  • There is no reservation for the seats.
  • The courses are normally for the duration of 4 years but the students are given an option to complete them before/after time.  
  • Those students admitted to M.Sc. are eligible to apply for a dual degree. They can choose B.E (Hons.) or B.Pharm (Hons.), the duration of the same will be five years.

 IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS LAID OUT BY BITS, PILANI:

  • After completing the form online, you can take a print out of the filled-in form for your future reference.
  • The last date for applying by completing the online application form along with prescribed fee is 5:00 PM on 6th March 2018.
  • You are not required to send this form by post.
  • While filling the online application form you will be asked for centre preference.
  • The candidate can choose the centres from within India or Dubai.
  • If the candidate chooses centres within India you will be asked to give three preferences and will be allotted one out of the three.
  • If the candidate chooses Dubai as a centre you will not be asked for any other centre preference and you will be allotted Dubai Center only.
  • If the candidate chooses the centres within India, Application Fee for male candidates will be Rs. 2750 and for female candidates, it will be Rs. 2250.
  • If the candidate chooses Dubai as a centre, the Application Fee for both male and female candidates will be the same and will be US$ 60 (or Rs. 4000 Indian Rupees).
  • Before printing out the filled-in application form, the system will generate a unique application number for you. Note down the number as it will be required for all future correspondences.
  • If the candidate does not have a printer attached to the computer while filling your online application, the candidate can complete the application process and take the printout of the application form later by entering your personal details and the unique application number.
  • While applying online, do not use the 'Back' button on the toolbar of your browser.
  • Use the links and buttons available on the page to move from one page to another.
  • Further, when you have completed applying, close all the open browser windows so that others cannot copy your personal details.
  • After successful completion of the application process, the candidate may check the application fee payment status in the Query Section.
  • The candidate is allowed to fill and submit only one online application form.
  • Multiple applications of a candidate are liable to be rejected.
  • Before starting your online application keep readily scanned images of Photograph and Signature in the format of jpg/jpeg only.
  • The size of photo image must be between 10KB to 30KB.
  • The size of signature image must be between 2KB to 20KB.

BITSAT Mock Test 2018:

  • The mock test of BITSAT 2018 is now available for all candidates who will be participating in the entrance examination.
  • The candidates will have to download and execute the file to access the mock test.
  • Compared to the 3-hour long entrance examination, the mock test of BITSAT 2018 will be only 30 minutes long.

Divided into four sections:

  • Physics
  • Chemistry
  • English and Logical Reasoning
  • Mathematics

The candidates will have to select which section they want to attempt first and go on to answer the multiple choice questions.

Options of skipping to other parts, marking for review, going to the next questions and completing the test will be provided.

The test scores will be generated after the candidates select the completed button.

The mock test of BITSAT 2018 can be used in the preparation for the examination.
