CMAT 2018 Eligibility Criteria

The CMAT 2018 Eligibility must be met irrespective of what category the candidates belong to and what post graduate management program they opt for at the participating college or institute. The basic CMAT eligibility criteria are:

  • The CMAT aspiring candidate must be an Indian.
  • The candidate must be a graduate (10+2+3) from any recognized University in any discipline.

Coursewise Eligibility for CMAT 2018:

The CMAT 2018 Eligibility Criteria for admissions to the management programmes (Diploma and Post-Graduation) will vary according to the kind of management programme. The general CMAT 2018 Eligibility Criteria for each management programme is listed as under:

  •  A Bachelor's degree of minimum duration of 3 years.
  • Must have at least of 5 years relevant experience in managerial and supervisory capacities.  
  • A minimum qualification of 50% (for general category) and 45% (for reserved categories).

Eligibility Criteria for CMAT 2018:

In order to be eligible for appearing in the CMAT 2018 exam you need to:

  • Have a recognized bachelor’s degree of three years wherein you must have obtained 50 % marks. For non-general quota candidates, the acceptable marks stand at 45%.
  • Candidates appearing in the graduation final year also are eligible.
  • The candidate has to be an Indian.
  • For the executive MBA program, you need to fulfil all the above criteria and also have had a relevant work experience of 5 years as a supervisor or manager.

All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) specifies the CMAT Eligibility Criteria each year for all candidates to appear for the exam. Finally, the selection and allotment of seats will be done on the basis of eligibility, merit and rank in the CMAT examination and the performance in further selection processes.

The candidates who do not fulfill the CMAT eligibility norms will not be allowed to take CMAT 2018 examination and all processes further will be canceled no matter what the stage of admission and performance in the CMAT examination had been. Therefore, the candidates need to check CMAT 2018 Eligibility Criteria  before they fill the application form. 


Documents required to be Eligible for Reservation:

For seeking the benefits of CMAT 2018 reservation for allotment of seats under Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC), Physically Handicapped (PH), Kashmiri Migrant (KM), the girl child category and Defence Persons category, through CMAT 2018, the candidate must submit the required certificates and documents:

  • Caste certificate
  • Dependent Certificate
  • Income Certificate
  • Proformas etc., whichever applicable, according to the guidelines of the particular college/ institute.

Without sufficient documentary proof, no candidate will be given any benefits of reservation of seats through CMAT 2018.

Category once indicated by the candidate at the time of submission of CMAT 2018 Application form, along with documentary proof, will not be changed afterwards in any case. Hence, the candidate must read and understand the conditions of reservation of seats carefully before applying for CMAT 2018.
