Application Process for GMAT #year

  • The online applications for the GMAT exam are available at any time in the year.
  • Anyone meeting the desired qualifications can apply for GMAT any time by logging onto
  • The date and centre of the GMAT exam can be planned as per candidate’s preference.
  • While you can reappear for the GMAT easily, it should be kept in mind that candidates can only apply for the GMAT exam once every 16 days, and not more than five times in the same year.
  • The applications for the GMAT exam can be sent either through a mail or by simply apply on the official GMAT website.

Steps to register through Website:

  • Visit and create an Account by clicking on “Take GMAT Exam”.
  • Click on “Find Test Dates” under ‘the GMAT Exam’ head.
  • Enter the location and click on the Search button.
  • A list of available GMAT Test Centers will be displayed.
  • Once the convenient GMAT test center is selected, click on the Next button.

Note: One can select up to three GMAT Exam Centers in order to compare the availability. 

  • Once you have finalized your GMAT test centre and date, provide your personal details such as name, email address, contact number,etc.
  • Candidates must make sure that they use the name that is there on their passport.
  • Once you have successfully entered all the details, click on “Create Account”.
  • Your Account will be created and now you have an access to your account.
  • You can now easily apply for the GMAT exam by scheduling an appointment.

On the day you take the GMAT exam, but before you begin, you may select up to five GMAT accepting programs to receive your Official Score Report. If you did not select any GMAT programs to receive your scores on the day of your exam, or if you would like to send your scores to more than the five programs you selected on your test day, you may order Additional Score Reports to be sent to schools online, by phone, by fax, or by mail for a fee. When you order an Additional Score Report to be sent to a school, you will also receive a copy.

Is the GMAT really a necessity for MBA applications?

  • In most cases, yes. However, some business schools also accept Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores, and some have their own admissions exams. You should always check with the business schools you wish to apply to in order to find out what is required for your MBA applications, however, GMAC has a database detailing which schools use their exam as part of their admissions criteria.
