  • GPAT 2018 stands for Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test.
  • It is a national level entrance exam which is conducted annually by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.

  • GPAT 2018 is conducted for the aspirants who want to seek admission into the Master’s (M.Pharm) or doctoral program in the field of pharmacy.

  • The GPAT 2018 examination is held every year in the month of February. With the help of GPAT 2018, candidates are able to get admission into reputed Pharmacy Institutes of India. The GPAT score is universally accepted by all the colleges/ Institutes/ Department/ Affiliated Colleges/ University approved by AICTE.

GPAT 2018 Important Dates

  • Commencement of application process: The GPAT online application process will begin on 10th October 2017.
  • Last date for online application: The GPAT online application process will end on 25th December 2017.
  • Last date for submitting GPAT application form: The GPAT application form should be submitted by December 2018.
  • Availability of GPAT admit card: The GPAT admit card will be made available on 16th January 2018.
  • GPAT exam date: GPAT exam will be held on 28th January 2018.
  • Result Date: The GPAT results will be declared on 8th February 2018.

GPAT 2018 Eligibility

  • Citizenship: The candidate must be a citizen of India in order to be eligible for GPAT exam.
  • Educational Qualification: The applicant should have passed 10th and 12th from a recognized board. They should also possess a Bachelors Degree in Pharmacy in order to be eligible for GPAT. Final year B.Pharmacy students are also eligible for GPAT exam. However, final year students must bring their result during counseling, failing which, the registration will be canceled.
  • Age limit: There is no age limit for GPAT.

GPAT 2018 Application Process

  • GPAT application procedure: The candidates must go to the official website of GPAT and click on the application form link. Students are requested to fill in the required details in the GPAT application form.
  • Payment of GPAT application fee: After the GPAT application form is filled up, candidates must pay the application fee. The application fee is Rs. 1,400 for general category students and Rs. 700 for reserved category students. The fee can be paid either online or through SBI Challan. If the application fee is not paid, candidates will not be able to submit the application form.
  • Generation of login ID and password: On successful submission of the GPAT application form, a login ID and a 6 digit password will be generated.

GPAT 2018 Application Form Details

  • Application Fee: The GPAT application fee is Rs. 1,400 for general/ OBC students and it is Rs. 700 for SC/ST/PWD/Female students. The application fee is subject to bank charges.
  • Mode of payment of application fee: The GPAT application fee can be paid in online or offline mode. In the case of online mode, the application fee can be paid through debit card or credit card, net banking or SBI bank challan.
  • Confirmation message: Students will get a confirmation message on their registered mobile number on successful payment of application fee.

GPAT 2018 Admit Card

  • Downloading of GPAT admit card: The GPAT admit card must be downloaded from the official website using the login ID and password generated to the candidate.
  • The admit card for GPAT 2018 will be available from 16th January 2018.
  • In case the candidate forgot their password, they can retrieve it by using the password recovery question.
  • GPAT admit card will not be sent by post hence candidates must download it from the official website.
  • Students will not be allowed to enter the exam hall without the GPAT 2018 hall ticket.

GPAT 2018 Exam Pattern

  • Paper Patter: The GPAT exam will be an objective type exam. It will consist of MCQs.
  • Number of Questions: There will be around 125 questions for GPAT exam.
  • Time Duration: The exam will be held for 3 hours.
  • Marking Scheme: The candidate will be awarded 4 marks for every correct answer. There will be negative marking of 1 mark for every incorrect answer. The GPAT exam will be for 500 marks.
  • Parts in GPAT paper: There will be 4 parts in the GPAT exam i.e Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacology and Pharmacognosy.

GPAT 2018 Syllabus

The GPAT exam will comprise of 4 major sections a brief of which is given below:

  • Syllabus for Pharmaceutics: Physical Pharmacy, Microbiology in Pharmacy, Stoichiometry etc.
  • Syllabus for Pharmaceutics Pharmaceutical Chemistry: Biochemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Analysis etc.
  • Syllabus for Pharmacology: Immunopathophysiology, Fundamentals of general pharmacology etc.
  • Syllabus for Pharmacognosy: Sources of Drugs, Tannins, Fibers etc.

GPAT 2018 Results

  • Steps to check results: Candidates must go to the official website of GPAT and click on the result link. The login ID and password must be entered and the results will appear on the screen.
  • Merit List: The merit list will be prepared based on the score and rank of the candidates. The percentile will be calculated based on the total number of candidates who appeared for the exam and the score of the candidates.

GPAT 2018 Counselling

  • Counseling Dates: Shortlisted candidates must login to the official website and check their counselling dates.
  • Documents for Counseling process: The candidates are required to carry the original marks sheet along with other certificates for the counselling process. If a candidate fails to carry the original mark sheet, their candidature can get cancelled.
