About IBSAT Exam:

  • The IBSAT 2017 examination is an entrance test that the ICFAI Business School conducts.

IBSAT 2017 Important Dates

  • The IBSAT online registration commencement and the IBSAT forms are releasing on 1st July 2017.
  • The last date for the submission of the IBSAT Application is on 12th December 2017.
  • IBSAT exams are scheduled to be on the 21st December 2017 to 24th December 2017.
  • The IBSAT Result will be out on 2nd January 2018.
  • The selection briefing of the IBSAT is said to be in between 20th to 30th of January #yea.
  • The final selection for the IBSAT is in between 17th to 26th of February 2017 and it is held at the IBS Hyderabad campus.

IBSAT 2017 Eligibility

The candidates have to satisfy eligibility under any circumstances to be allowed to write the IBSAT Exam.

Even if one of the eligibility criteria is not satisfied, the candidate will not be eligible to write the IBSAT Exam. Eligible candidates can fill the Application form for IBSAT exam

In order to satisfy the IBSAT eligibility for appearing in the IBSAT 2017 exam, you need to-

  • Have a recognised bachelor’s degree of three years wherein you must have obtained 50 per cent marks to satisfy IBSAT eligibility.
  • Have a recognised Master’s degree of two years wherein you must have obtained 60 per cent marks to satisfy IBSAT eligibility. The subjects are Management, Mathematics, Economics, Psychology, Commerce, Sociology, Stats, Public Administration as well as allied subjects.
  • Those who have a professional qualification such as CA, CS, CFA or CWA with 60 per cent plus marks are also eligible for IBSAT 2017.
  • The medium of study must have been English for the candidate to be able to apply for IBSAT. In case this is not the case, the candidate will need to provide the score for NELT, IELTS  or TOEFL by May 2017.
  • Candidates appearing in the graduation final year also are eligible for IBSAT Exam. The mark sheets and documents for the same must be provided by November 2017 at the most.
  • The candidate will have to have completed 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 pattern of education.
  • Those who have part time or correspondence degrees are not eligible to apply for IBSAT.

IBSAT 2017 Application Process

  • All candidates eligible and interested in appearing in IBSAT 2017 need to register themselves online. In order to register for the IBSAT test, the candidates will need to access the official IBSAT site.
  • The Application form for IBSAT 2017 will be available on the official IBSAT website as well as in the offline mode. All IBS marketing offices will offer offline IBSAT forms for admissions to all candidates eligible for IBSAT. The online IBSAT registration process begins with filling in the basic details and academic qualification online. Begin with clicking on Admissions tab.

Documents required for IBSAT Application Process:

The main documents or details needed to be attached with IBSAT application form are:

  • Personal documents for address and identification.
  • Past mark-sheets and academic score.

IBSAT 2017 Application Form Details

  • The IBSAT form is available online at a price of INR 1800 for eligible candidates. The candidates will be paying the fees that will be non-returnable in a case of rejection of IBSAT application too.
  • The IBSAT fees can be paid via net banking, credit card or debit card.
  • Relevant IBSAT Application Form bank charges will be applicable as per the mode of payment used.

IBSAT 2017 Admit Card

  • All the registered IBSAT candidates who have paid the IBSAT Application Form fees will be issued IBSAT admit cards.
  • The IBSAT Admit Card will be available online as well as offline.
  • Offline - The IBSAT authority will send the IBSAT to admit card via registered post.
  • Online - The IBSAT admit card can be downloaded from the official IBSAT website.
  • The IBSAT Admit Card is to be compulsorily carried to the IBSAT Exam centre else no entry will be allowed.

Steps to download IBSAT Admit Card:

The IBSAT admit card for Exam will be available online on the official IBSAT website. The IBSAT Admit Card can be downloaded from your candidate’s IBSAT account created during IBSAT Registration. You have to download your IBSAT admit card from your IBSAT account before the IBSAT exam day.

The steps to download IBSAT Admit Card are given below:

  • Go to the official IBSAT website to get the IBSAT Admit Card.
  • Click on the “Existing User” tab.
  • Enter your IBSAT login id and password.
  • Click on Login.
  • You will be redirected to your IBSAT candidate profile.
  • Click on the “Download IBSAT Admit Card” button.
  • Save your IBSAT admit card on your system and take a print out.

IBSAT Admit Card Details:

The IBSAT admit card will have the following details:

  • Name
  • Exam date
  • Time (Forenoon or Afternoon Session)
  • Exam centre address
  • User ID No./ IBSAT Registration Number.

Points to Remember about the IBSAT Admit Card:

  • Make sure the print out of your IBSAT Admit card is clear.
  • Tampering with the IBSAT Admit card will not be tolerated. Tampering with the IBSAT Admit Card will lead to the cancellation of the candidate's actual IBSAT Admit Card and also the candidate's disqualification from IBSAT exam.
  • The photograph on the IBSAT Admit card must be clear.
  • Plagiarising of the IBSAT Admit Card will not be tolerated. It will lead to the cancellation of the candidate's actual IBSAT Admit Card and also the candidate's disqualification from the IBSAT Exam.
  • It is mandatory to carry the admit card to the exam centre.

IBSAT 2017 Exam Pattern

The IBSAT exam pattern is as follows:

  • The questions will be of an objective category in MCQ format.
  • The total time duration of the IBSAT exam is 120 minutes and the candidates will have to complete 120 questions having five answer options by then.
  • Each right answer will fetch the candidate 1 mark while no mark will be slashed for any wrong answer.
  • Therefore, all questions must be attempted by the candidates.

Section wise break up of the IBSAT Paper:

  • Data Interpretation and Sufficiency will have 30 questions for 30 marks.
  • Quantitative Ability will have 30 questions for 30 marks.
  • Reading Comprehension will have 30 questions for 30 marks.
  • English usage will have 30 questions for 30 marks.

IBSAT 2017 Syllabus

  • The IBSAT test is based on testing the Analytical Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning, Comprehension Ability and Data Interpretation of the candidates who take the same.

IBSAT 2017 Results

  • The result for IBSAT 2017 will be declared with the IBSAT result merit list on 2nd January 2018. The IBSAT Result Merit List will be available online on the official IBSAT website.
  • Candidates will have to log in to their account using valid IBSAT Application Form number and the relevant password to access the IBSAT result. Declaration of results is followed by the counselling session. 


There are more than 8 schools that are affiliated to IBSAT and that accept an IBSAT score for admission. Once the IBSAT result is declared, these schools will release their cutoffs for every category. IBSAT schools also accept scores of MAT, CAT, CMAT, XAT, GMAT and NMAT.

IBSAT 2017 Counselling

Counselling for IBSAT 2017:

  • Those candidates who clear the IBSAT written test will be shortlisted further for IBSAT selection.
  • The process for IBSAT selection takes places across eight IBS campuses.
  • The process comprises of a personal interview and group discussion.
  • For the last leg of IBSAT examination, the candidates’ past academic records, as well as PI and GD performance, will be considered.

  • Entrance is through IBSAT/CAT score for Hyderabad Campus. 
  • For candidates who have good overall personality and are not very strong in written, I would recommend taking IBSAT
  • IBSAT has 25% weightage only and the balance 75% is distributed in your past academic score, Interview, GD performance. 
  • Since IBS has many campuses, IBSAT typical cut-off is low so if you perform well in the later evaluations. There is a good probability of getting a seat in Hyderabad campus.

  • Eligibility criteria for joining into the college were 55% in the graduation level along with entry test of IBSAT which is Exclusive for IBS campuses.
  • The main selection took place at the time of GD & PI. Overall a fair & transparent way of selection

Yes, they do.

IBS Bussiness School/The Icfaian Foundation considers the scores to IBSAT 2016/CAT, GMAT, NMAT, XAT (2014 onwards)/MAT, CMAT 2016/State Level Test Scores 2016 for admission to various Management programs in their institutes.
