Eligibility Criteria for IISER 2017:

There are pre-announced eligibility criteria set by the University. These are obligatory norms which the aspirants must follow before filling the application form for IISER.

If candidates eligibility does not fall under the pre-set terms and conditions for eligibility for IISER examination, their application form for IISER examination will be rejected.

The candidates are requested to go through the Eligibility Criteria carefully before applying for IISER.


Eligibility Criteria for IISER 2017:

  • Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree to satisfy eligibility criteria for IISER.
  • Candidates who are going to clear their 12th examination in the current year are eligible to write IISER.
  • Candidates must have passed their 12th examination to satisfy eligibility criteria for IISER.
  • Indian nationals and students from PIO or OCI category both are eligible to appear in the IISER examination.
  • Candidates belonging to the General/OBC-NCL Category must score at least 55% aggregate marks in the qualifying degree without rounding off to satisfy eligibility criteria for IISER.
  • Candidates belonging to the SC/ST and PwD Category must score 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying degree without rounding off to satisfy eligibility criteria for IISER.
