The JCECE entrance examination will be conducted in June 2018. The objective of conducting JCECE 2018 is to provide admission in different undergraduate courses. These courses comprise of agriculture, horticulture, and various other engineering courses as well. The JCECE entrance examination holds for three different groups, that is, PCM for engineering, PCB for medical, and PCMB for both engineering and medical groups.

JCECE 2018 Important Dates

  • JCECE online notification: The initial JCECE Online notification will be given in April 2018.
  • JCECE online registration: The JCECE online registration process will begin in Mid April 2018.
  • JCECE Admit Card: The JCECE admit card will be released in the last week of May 2018.
  • JCECE exam date: The JCECE exam will be held in the first week of June 2018.
  • JCECE result date: The JCECE result will be published in the month of July 2018.
  • JCECE counselling date: The JCECE counselling process will begin in the month of July and end in the month of August 2018.

JCECE 2018 Eligibility

  • Eligibility criteria regarding Nationality: The candidate should be an Indian citizen and a permanent resident of Jharkhand.
  • Eligibility criteria for the B.Tech course: The candidate should have passed their SC/10+2 or any equivalent examination with 45% marks. The applicant should be a resident of Jharkhand. There is no age limit.
  • Eligibility criteria for the MBBS course: The candidate should be 17 years old as on December 31st, 2018 to be eligible for the MBBS course. The applicants should have fulfilled the educational criteria according to the guidelines of MCI, Delhi. The candidates should have passed with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English individually.
  • Eligibility criteria for the Agriculture and Forestry course: The candidate should be from 17 to 22 years old as on July 1st, 2018 to be eligible to apply for the Agriculture and Forestry course. The candidates should have cleared their SC/ 10+2 or any equivalent examination with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects and one of the subjects should be Mathematics or Biology.
  • Eligibility criteria for the Animal Husbandry course: The candidate has to be 17 years old as on December 31st, 2018 to be eligible for the Animal Husbandry course. The candidates should have followed the guidelines mentioned by V.C.I. The candidates should have passed their SC/10+2 or any equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as compulsory subjects.

JCECE 2018 Application Process

  • Registration fee: The registration fee for the General/BC-1/BC-2 category candidates for the PCM group is Rs. 1100 and for the PCB group it is Rs. 1200. The registration fees for the SC/ST category candidates for the PCM group is Rs. 550 and for the PCB group it is RS. 650.
  • Online process: The candidate has to visit the official website and click on the application form link. Candidates have to fill in their details. They will get an SMS with their registration number and login details. They have to login and enter the details received. Candidates have to upload their scanned photograph and signature and pay the fees. Finally, they should click on the submit button to submit the form.
  • Online payment: The candidates can pay online using debit or credit card.
  • Offline payment: Candidates can download the application form from the downloads column of the official website.

JCECE 2018 Application Form Details

  • Date: The JCECE initial online notification will be given in April 2018. The JCECE application form can be filled in the month of April 2018.
  • Mode: The JCECE application form can be filled through three modes which are online, ICR application form and OMR application form.
  • Nationality: The candidate should be an Indian citizen and a permanent resident of Jharkhand.
  • Mode of payment: Application fees can be paid through DD/Bank Challan or online through net banking.

JCECE 2018 Admit Card

  • Availing the admit card: The JCECE admit card will be available on the official website. The candidate should click on the admit card tab and select JCECE 2018 examination. The candidate should enter the details and click on the submit option. They should download and print the admit card.
  • The candidate should preserve the admit card till the admission process.
  • The admit card should not be tampered with as it would lead to debarement of the candidate.

JCECE 2018 Exam Pattern

  • Exam Mode: The JCECE 2018 examination is a pen and paper based exam.
  • Type of questions: The JCECE exam consists of objective type questions.
  • Number of papers: There will be three papers which are Physics and Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology, Biotechnology.
  • Question base: The questions will be based on the CBSE Class 11 and Class 12 syllabus.
  • Subject groups: The subject groups are PCM, PCB and PCMB.
  • Marking scheme: Each section has 50 questions and each question carries 1 mark.
  • PCM group: The PCM group has three subjects namely Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Each section has 50 questions each.
  • PCB group: The PCB group has three subjects namely Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Each section has 50 questions each.
  • PCMB group: The PCMB group has four subjects namely Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology. Each section has 50 questions each. 

JCECE 2018 Syllabus

  • The main topics are as follows:
  • Physics: The main topics are as follows Introduction & Measurement, Description of Motion in One Dimension, Description of Motion in Two & Three Dimension, Laws of Motion, etc.
  • Chemistry: The main topics are as follows Basic Concepts and Atomic Structure, Bonding and Molecular Structure, States of Matter, Periodic Properties of Elements & Hydrogen, etc. The  important topics are as follows Organic Compounds Containing Oxygen, Equilibrium, Chemical Kinetics, d & f block Elements, etc.
  • Mathematics: The main topics are as follows Sets, Relation & Functions, Complex Numbers, Quadratic Equations, etc. The important topics are as follows Integrals, Probability, Conic Sections, Straight Lines, etc.
  • Biology: The main topics are as follows Diversity in the Living World, Plant Kingdom, Cell and Cell Division, Physiology of Plants, etc.

JCECE 2018 Results

  • Date: The JCECE 2018 results will be declared in the month of July 2018.
  • Procedure: The results will be published on the official website. The candidate has to go to the official website and click on the JCECE 2018 result link and enter their registration number and password. The result will be displayed. The candidates must download the admit card.

JCECE 2018 Counselling

  • Date: The JCECE counselling process will be conducted in the month of July and August.
  • Number of rounds: There will be two rounds of counselling.
  • First round of counselling: The candidates will be selected on the basis of the rank obtained. Once the certificates and documents have been verified the candidate will be allowed to select the desired stream.
  • Second round of counselling: If there are any non-allotted seats then there will be a second round of counselling.
  • Counselling fee: The General category candidates have to pay Rs. 300 and the SC/ST candidates have to pay Rs. 250 as counselling fee.

  • I got 85 /150 and took Chemical engineering but Information Technology was also available. In order to get mechanical or electrical engineering, The cutoff for General category is 95-100 marks.
