  • Karnataka State Entrance Examination (KCET) is conducted for degree level course admission to various institutes in the State of Karnataka.
  • In order to obtain admission in undergraduate medical or dental courses through KEA, a candidate must appear in KCET Medical 2018 and qualify for the KCET Exam with requisite percentage as per their category.
  • Karnataka CET (KCET) Medical 2018 is state level entrance exam conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) for admission to around 2400 MBBS seats in 28 medical and 600 BDS seats in 24 Dental colleges of Karnataka.
  • THe KCET 2018 Exam is a state level examination and is conducted every year in May. KCET 2018 examination enables candidates to seek admissions for bachelors programmes in Medical, Dental, Homeopathy, Ayurveda, Unani, Naturapathy, Yoga, Engineering, B.Sc Agriculture, Sericulture, Forestry, Horticulture, B-Pharma and D-Pharma. Non Karnataka candidates cannot appear for this examination.
  • All candidates who satisfy the eligibility criteria can apply for the pen paper based KCET #yearexamination.

The important dates for KCET exam:

  • Availability of KCET form: 8th January 2018 
  • Last date of KCET submission: 1st March 2018 
  • Last date of KCET form correction: 5th May 2018 
  • Last date of KCET form payment: February 26, 2018 
  • Availability of KCET admit card: 16th April 2018

KCET 2018 Eligibility

The Eligibility Criteria for KCET exam:

  • The KCET form will be available online on the official website
  • The candidate has to pass 12th standard or its equivalent examination 
  • English, Chemistry, and Physics should be mandatory subjects
  • Should have secured minimum 50% aggregate
  • Candidates applying for KCET - Architecture have to appear for NATA examination
  • Candidates belonging apprearing from Horanadu and other conflicted Kannada speaking regions in Karnataka should score a minimum 12 out of 50 marks in the Kannada Language Test conducted by KEA.
  • Candidates completed schooling in Kannada medium need not appear for the Kannada Language Test

Candidates applying for MBBS/BDS:

  • Minimum aggregate should be 50%
  • Should have passed 12th or 2nd PUC or its Equivalent exam

Candidates applying for Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Unani, Naturopathy, and Yoga

  • No minimum marks required
  • Should have passed 2nd PUC or 12th standard or Equivalent exam

Candidates applying for B.Tech/ B.Sc (Agriculture), B.Sc. (Forestry), B.Sc.(Sericulture), B.Sc.(Agri. Biotech), B.Sc.(Horticulture), B.H.Sc.,(Home Science) B.Tech.(Food Technology), B.Tech.(Dairy Technology), B.F.Sc (Bachelor of Fisheries Science) B.Tech. (Food Science &Tech.), B.Sc.(Ag. Marketing and Co-operation) and B. Tech (Agriculture Engineering)

  • Minimum marks of 45% required
  • Should have passed 2nd PUC or 12th or equivalent
  • No minimum marks required in CET

Candidates applying for B.Arch

  • Minimum marks required is 40% in NATA
  • Must have passed 2nd PUC or 12th std or equivalent
  • 50% marks is required all subjects

Candidates applying for B.Pharm

  • No minimum marks required in CET
  • Minimum of 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology

Candidates applying for 2nd year B.Pharm

  • No minimum marks prescribed in CET
  • Should have passed in Diploma with a minimum of 45%

Candidates applying for Pharm - D

  • No minimum marks in CET
  • Should have passed in 2nd PUC or 12th standard or its equivalent exam

KCET 2018 Application Process

Application procedure for KCET:

  • The online form for KCET is available from January 13 on the official website.
  • The candidate has to fill the personal details.
  • Choose the location for the KCET exam center.
  • Create a unique password and a security question
  • Information once filled, the candidate has to click on the Final Submit button.
  • Signature, Photograph and Thumb Impression has to be uploaded
  • The KCET application fee should be paid through demand draft.

KCET 2018 Application Form Details

The Application form KCET will be available online and offline.

  • Availability of the KCET application form:   8th January 2018 
  • Last date to submit the KCET form:          #application_to_dat
  • Last date to pay for KCET:                        26th February 2018 

KCET 2018 Admit Card

  • The candidates will be able to download their KCET admit card from 16th April 2018. 
  • Candidates have to enter the KCET application number and their date of birth.
  • A printout of the KCET Admit card has to be taken.
  • Candidate has to carry a hard copy of the admit card of KCET exam.
  • No Admit card will be sent through post or by any other means.
  • KCET Admit card has to be preserved for later procedure.

KCET 2018 Exam Pattern

The exam pattern for KCET exam:

  • KCET exam will be objective type
  • Exam will be conducted in two days with four sessions
  • First day will be for Biology and Mathematics
  • Second day will be Physics and Chemistry
  • No negative marking
  • The questions will be on Biology, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry
  • Duration of the KCET exam is 80 minutes
  • Correct answer will carry 1 mark

KCET 2018 Results

The results for KCET exam:

 

  • Candidates can check their KCET results on the official website.
  • By entering the roll number and birthdate of the candidate, results will be downloaded.
  • KCET  results have to be kept till the end the end of the Admission Procedure.
  • After the KCET results, the cut off will be released by the KCET.

KCET 2018 Counselling

  • The KCET counseling procedure will start after the declaration of the results.
  • The candidate clearing the criteria and cutoff has to participate for the counseling
  • Candidates has to get all the documents required for the counseling
  • It is mandatory for the candidate to have their KCET admit card during the counseling procedure

The eligibility criteria required for the mechanical engineering is a pass in 10+2 (Class XII) or its equivalent examination securing an aggregate of 60% marks in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry with not less than 55% in each of these three subjects. Either Comedy or KCET results are required for the admission.

Eligibility Criteria and Admission Process:

I got admitted to Information Science Engineering ( B.E ISE ) through KCET (  Karnataka Common Entrance Test ) under GM ( General Merit ) category.

KCET has mutiple rounds of online councelling ( 4 in the year 2013 ). My KCET rank was 12600 and had to wait till the 3rd extended round for getting a seat in B.E ISE in PESIT SOUTH CAMPUS ( previously called PESSE : PES School of Engineering ).

Cutoffs vary depending on the round of councelling.

Cutoffs for GM at the end of each round :
1st Round : 4500
2nd Round : 6700
3rd Round : 8900
3rd extended Round : 12600
