KEAM (Kerala Engineering, Architecture, Medical) is announced and conducted by the CEE (Commissioner of Entrance Examinations) Kerala. The Application form for KEAM 2018 will be available from 1st February 2018 till 9th March 2018. The Exam date for KEAM 2018 is scheduled on 24th April 2018. For engineering courses, students are tested on their Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects taught in the 11th and 12th standard. KEAM 2018 examination consists of two papers.

There have been few changes made in the KEAM 2018. The changes brought in the exam are:

  • Admissions to medical and relating programmes will be based on the NEET 2018 score. The candidates should participate in the KEAM Allotment for admissions.
  • Similarly, for admissions in the architecture programme the NATA 2018 scores obtained will be considered for admissions.
  • Henceforth KEAM will now be conducted for Engineering only in 2 sessions.

KEAM 2018 consists a total of 120 MCQs. These 120 questions are divided into two papers namely Paper 1-Physics & Chemistry and Paper 2 – Mathematics. The Results for KEAM 2018 will be announced online on 25th May 2018. The KEAM Allotment process starts from 20th June 2018.

About KEAM Exam:

  • Kerala Engineering, Architecture and Medical Entrance Exam, commonly known as KEAM is a state level examination organised by the CEE, Government of Kerala. annually.
  • It acts as a judging medium for eligible candidates to acquire admissions into professional courses like agriculture, medicine, engineering and forestry.
  • A large number of students take this examination every year.
  • Students compete for around 59,000 seats that are available across all courses.

KEAM 2018 Important Dates

  • The KEAM application process will begin on 1st February 2018 and it will end on 9th March 2018
  • The Admit Card will be out on 10th April 2018
  •  KEAM exam will be held 24th April 2018. The

  • Counselling will take place on 20th June 2018.

KEAM 2018 Eligibility

  • Candidates must pass 10+2 from HSE Board. They must be an Indian national or Person of Indian Origin or an Overseas Citizen of India.
  • They must score a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying exam. The Reserved quota candidates must score a minimum of 40% in the qualifying exam and for physically handicapped candidates, it is 45%.
  • They must have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in order to be eligible for Technology and Agriculture courses. For candidates applying for Medical courses, Biology should be a mandatory subject.

KEAM 2018 Application Process

  • Once the candidate is eligible to apply for KEAM 2018, they can fill in the Online form on the official website for notifications about the form release.
  • The application form release date will be on 1st February 2018.
  • Once the form is available, candidates who satisfy the eligibility criteria for KEAM 2018 has to fill in details regarding their identity, qualifications and contact details.
  • Candidates who satisfy the eligibility criteria for KEAM 2018 will then receive a password and login details via SMS and email that were put in the form during registration.
  • Candidates who satisfy the eligibility criteria for KEAM 2018 should make sure that a recent passport sized photograph and the digital signature is uploaded with the form.
  • Candidates who satisfy the eligibility criteria for KEAM 2018 must read e complete Official Brochure and the eligibility norms mentioned before filling in the form.

KEAM 2018 Application Form Details

  • The KEAM application fee is Rs.1000 for General Candidates and Rs.500 for Reserved Quota Candidates. Candidates who filled the form online must pay the fees online through net banking, debit card, credit card or Demand Draft. The draft details must be filled in while registering online and the draft must be sent physically to the exam conducting authority.
  • A print out of the form must be sent to the admission office. The CEE will display the form status on the official website.

KEAM 2018 Admit Card

  • The KEAM admit card must be carried at the exam centre failing which the candidates will not be allowed to write the exam. Only those candidates who have registered for the exam will get the admit card.
  • The KEAM admit card will be available online and it will not be sent by post to any candidate. Students can download the KEAM admit card from the official website by entering the application number and date of birth.
  • The KEAM admit card will contain details like exam date, venue, time etc.

KEAM 2018 Exam Pattern

  • There are 2 entrance papers for the exam of KEAM. That is for Physics and Chemistry together and other for Mathematics. Each paper will have 120 questions. Every correct answer will fetch the candidate 4 marks and there will be negative marking of 1 mark for each incorrect answer. The KEAM exam will be held in pen and paper mode.
  • The Engineering entrance exam will have 2 papers i.e Physics and Chemistry as 1 paper and Mathematics as the 2nd paper.
  • Questions will be related to KEAM 2017 syllabus which usually consists of topics taught to students in their Class XI and Class XII.

KEAM 2018 Syllabus

  • Physics syllabus: Kinematics, Electrostatics, Gravitation etc.
  • Chemistry syllabus: Hydrogen, Solutions, Equilibrium etc.
  • Mathematics syllabus: Integral calculus, Differential Equations, Sequences and Series etc.
  • Biology syllabus: Food Production, Respiration, Mineral Nutrition etc.

KEAM 2018 Results

  • The KEAM results will be available on the official website. Students are requested to use their registered details and index number to access the results. The KEAM marks card will not be emailed or posted to the candidate. Hence, students are requested to print the KEAM mark sheet from the official website.
  • The KEAM results will be an aggregate score of paper 1 and paper 2. The results will be computed in a standardized procedure and ranks will be determined accordingly.

KEAM 2018 Counselling

  • The candidates must log in to the official website in order to check the counselling dates. The selected candidates must carry their original marks card and certificates to the counselling centre failing which the admission will be cancelled.
  • The candidates must carry the admit card, results for KEAM 2018, academic certificates, passport photo and character certificates to the counselling venue.
  • The seat allotment will be done via Centralised Allotment Process through Single Window System. The allotment will be done on the basis of rank secured. Students must report to the college to confirm the admission.

Eligibility Criteria and Admission Process:

Eligibility criteria for admission is to pass +2 state/equivalent board exam. KEAM/all India exam is also a criteria for selection. Based on entrance exam ranking, students are selected to the college.

Entrance ranking data sheet with +2 & 10th mark list along with several documents have to be submitted for admission at Vidya Academy of Science and Technology, Thrissur.

  • The Eligibility criteria are for the students to have attempted 12th board and the marks should be above 60 in all subjects.
  • I joined by applying to the NRI. division, so I was to pay then 1.5 lakhs as a safe deposit (will return after my completion of the course), only if I would pay this my admission would be confirmed.

No, it won't be possible to opt for Medical Courses through KEAM anymore.

The entire Medical Course selection will be done through NEET from this year onwards.

Aspiring individuals are advised to enlist themselves to NEET 2017 for Medical Admissions.

When I tried to download my Admit Card, a Memo will be obtained for taking printout. What should I do for the KEAM 2017?

During the scrutiny of the application form, if any discrepancy is found in the applicant’s claim or in the certificates such as failure of producing Nativity, defects in certificate produced and more, then a memo while trying to download the admit card will be obtained. All of the defects will be mentioned in the memo.

The necessary documents for correcting the defects should be sent to CEE office on or before the specified date along with the printout of the memo sheet for the KEAM 2017.

I have paid the application fee at one of the selected SBT branches listed by CEE. But the Payment tab in my home page has not turned green yet for the KEAM 2017?

The applicants will have to contact the respective branch of SBT and it must be ensured that the bank official collected the cash and the corresponding entry had been updated in “online fee collection portal” meant for CEE. If not, then the applicants should ask the bank official to update the payment status in “online fee collection portal" for the KEAM 2017.

How can I know whether the application has reached the CEE office of the KEAM?

There is an “Application Status” bar on the home page of the online application. When the application is received by the CEE office then the “Received by CEE” status will become in a light green colour background. It will be updated only when the application will be taken for scrutinising and not at the time of receiving. Also, a message will be sent to the registered mobile number regarding the status for KEAM 2017.

What are the common causes for rejecting the application for the KEAM 2017?

Some of the reasons for rejecting the application form for the KEAM examination is:

  • If the photograph of the applicant affixed in the printout of Application and the photograph uploaded online are different or do not follow the guidelines given in the “Photo Guideline”.

  • If the photograph affixed in the printout of Application is not duly attested by the Head of the Institute where he/she last studied.

  • If the uploaded documents are not clear or not as per the required specifications.

  • If the printout of the application form and other documents reach after the last date specified.

During the time of filling up of application, it shows “Session Time Out” and the filled information has been lost. How to avoid this situation in KEAM 2017?

The specified period of time when the user doesn’t work with the application is called session timeout. The applicant will have to log in again to proceed further. To avoid this session time out, the applicants are requested to use “Save” button frequently, available in the application page which will facilitate to save the entered data so far for KEAM 2017.

What documents have to be submitted for – Scouts & Guides, Sports, NCC Cadets for the KEAM 2017?

The applicants will have to submit the following documents for each category:

  • Scouts & Guides: Copy of Rashtrapathi Guide Certificate signed by the President of India.

  • Sports Quota: A photocopy of the filled application form has to be submitted to the Secretary, Kerala State Sports Council, Thiruvananthapuram – 695001

  • NCC Cadets: A photocopy of the filled application form has to be submitted to the Deputy Director General, NCC (Kerala), PB No.2212, Thiruvananthapuram-695010 through the respective NCC Unit Officers where the candidates have been enrolled as cadets.
