Eligibility Criteria For KEE 2018:

The eligibility criteria for the KEE define a certain protocol that is to be followed by candidates that apply for a course. The KEE eligibility criteria are defined by the authorities conducting the examination. The candidate must ensure that he or she satisfies all the requirements specified by the authorities for the KEE exam without which his or her candidature will be cancelled.

The eligibility criteria for KEE 2018 is as follows:

  1. For B.Tech (Aerospace Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electronics & Instrumentation, Electronics & Media Technology, Materials Engineering and Mechanical Engineering):
  •  Candidates should have passed H.S.C exam or any equivalent exam having a minimum of 50 per cent marks aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) in order to satisfy the eligibility criteria for the KEE.

      2. For B.Tech: (Bioinformatics / Biotechnology/ Food Processing and Engineering):

  • Candidates should have passed H.S.C exam or any equivalent exam having a minimum of 50 per cent marks aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) or must have passed H.S.C exam or equivalent exam having a minimum of 50 per cent marks aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Biology / Zoology / Botany / Computer Science in order to satisfy the eligibility criteria KEE. (In case the candidate has not taken Mathematics as a subject in H.S.C or equivalent).
  1. For B.Tech. Lateral entry, the following table lists the eligibility criteria:

Branches

Qualifying Diploma or B.Sc.

Civil Engineering

Civil Engg., Civil and Rural Engg., Architectural Assistantship, Architecture (Sandwich) with 60 per cent marks or B.Sc. Physics or Chemistry with Mathematics as one of the subjects with 60 per cent marks in Part-III or B.Sc. Mathematics with 60 per cent marks in Part-III or Equivalent B.Sc. degree. Satisfying the above KEE eligibility criteria will make a candidate eligible for the KEE.

Aerospace Engineering

Aeronautical Engg., Mechanical Engineering or Aircraft Maintenance Engineering course (3 years) offered by Director General of Civil Aviation, Govt. of India with 60 percent marks or B.Sc. Physics or Chemistry with Mathematics as one of the subjects with 60 per cent marks in Part-III or B.Sc. Mathematics with 60 per cent marks in Part-III or Equivalent B.Sc. degree. Satisfying the above KEE eligibility criteria will make a candidate eligible for the KEE.

Mechanical Engineering

Mechanical Engg., Mechanical and Rural Engg., Mechanical Design & Drafting, Production Engg., Automobile Engg., Metallurgy, Mechatronics Engg., Machine Tool Maintenance and Repairs, Tool and Die Making, Tool Engg., Foundry Technology, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, Agricultural Engg., Marine Engg., Fisheries Technology & Navigation, Foundry Technology, Pulp and Paper Technology with 60 per cent marks or B.Sc. Physics or Chemistry with Mathematics as one of the subjects with 60 per cent marks in Part-III or B.Sc. Mathematics with 60 per cent marks in Part-III or Equivalent B.Sc. degree. Satisfying the above KEE eligibility criteria will make a candidate eligible for the KEE.

Electrical & Electronics, Computer Science

Electrical Engg., Electronics  & Communication Engg., Biomedical Engineering,Computer Technology, Information Technology, Computer Science & Engg., Instrumentation & Control Engg. Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering with 60 per cent marks or B.Sc. Physics or Chemistry with Mathematics as one of the subjects with 60 per cent marks in Part-III or B.Sc. Mathematics with 60 per cent marks in Part-III or Equivalent B.Sc. degree. Satisfying the above KEE eligibility criteria will make a candidate eligible for the KEE.

Electronics & Communication, Electronics and Instrumentation and Biomedical Engineering

Electrical Engg., Electronics& Communication Engg., Biomedical Engineering, Electronics Engg. (Instrumentation), Computer Technology, Information Technology, Computer Science & Engg., Instrumentation & Control Engg. Mechatronics Engineering with 60 per cent marks or B.Sc. Physics or Chemistry with Mathematics as one of the subjects with 60 per cent marks in Part-III or B.Sc. Mathematics with 60 per cent marks in Part-III or Equivalent B.Sc. degree.Satisfying the above KEE eligibility criteria will make a candidate eligible for the KEE.

Electronics & Media Tech

Electrical Engg., Electronics & Communication Engg., Electronics Engg. (Instrumentation), Computer Technology, Information Technology, Computer Science & Engg., Instrumentation & Control Engg. Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Printing Technology with 60 per cent marks or B.Sc. Physics or Chemistry with Mathematics as one of the subjects with 60 per cent marks in Part-III or B.Sc. Mathematics with 60 per cent marks in Part-III or Equivalent B.Sc. degree. Satisfying the above KEE eligibility criteria will make a candidate eligible for the KEE.

Biotechnology

Diploma in Chemical Engineering, Instrumentation, Food Technology, Pharmaceutical Technology with 60 per cent marks, B.Sc. Life Sciences, Physics, Chemistry, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry with 60 per cent marks. Satisfying the above KEE eligibility criteria will make a candidate eligible for the KEE.

Food Processing Engineering

Diploma in Food Processing & Preservation/Chemical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering with 60 per cent marks, B.Sc. in Food Sciences, Food Sciences & Quality Control, Food Nutrition & Dietetics, Food Technology, Biochemistry, Mathematics, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Chemistry and Physics with 60 per cent marks. Satisfying the above KEE eligibility criteria will make a candidate eligible for the KEE.

Age Limit:

The applicants that apply for the KEE can not be above the age of 21 as on 1st July 2018.

  • Yes, there is an age limit for KEE. The applicants have to be 21 years and below as on 1st July 2017 to be eligible to apply for KEE.

  • A candidate should score a minimum of 50% in Maths, Physics and Chemistry to get admission for the B.Tech degree. For B.Tech Bio branches, students from Computer Science and Biology are also considered. For core engineering branches, A pass in 10+2 Vocational stream (with the subjects General machinist, electrical machines and appliances, electronic equipments, draughtsman civil, auto mechanic, textile technology,     etc.) with any one of the Engineering related subjects namely Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry with a minimum average percentage of 50%.
