About KMAT 2018:

Karnataka Management Aptitude Test is commonly abbreviated as KMAT. The all-India level examination is a single-window entrance exam for those interested in seeking admission into courses such as MCA, MBA and PGDM in the State of Karnataka.

Karnataka Private Post Graduate College’s Association is the main authority that conducts KMAT. The body was established in 2003 with the aim for arranging active aid for students looking to seek professional and quality post-graduate education. The questions asked in KMAT is designed to check candidates quants and logical reasoning skills along with their verbal and general ability. The KMAT application process starts in the month of April. The eligibility criteria for KMAT 2018 states that the candidate needs to have a graduate degree before filling the application form. Karnataka Private Post Graduate College Association has 169 fellow institutes situated across Karnataka which are tied up to respective universities within the state.

KMAT 2018 Important Dates

KMAT Exam Registration starts from the first week of May 2018. Candidates should remember to register before the second week of May 2018 for KMAT Exam.

Admit Card for KMAT Exam will be available by the third week of May 2018.

KMAT Exam will be held in the last week of May 2018.

KMAT Results will be out in the second week of May 2018.

KMAT 2018 Eligibility

Eligibility Criteria for KMAT 2018 Course-Wise:

  • For MBA Courses:
    • The eligibility criteria for the candidate is to have completed a three-year graduate degree post completion of 10+2, in any stream.
    • The degree will have to be recognised by the state authority to be eligible.
    • The minimum eligibility marks required at graduation level is 50 percent in every subject.
    • Candidates who belong to SC/ ST/ OBC/ PD categories should have a minimum of 40 percent in every subject to satisfying the eligibility criteria.
  • For MCA Courses:
    • The eligibility criteria for the candidate who desires to take MCA should have completed a Bachelor’s degree with 50 per cent marks.
    • The candidate must have studied mathematics at 10+2 level or as a Major subject during graduation to be eligible to write KMAT.
    • Candidates must have chosen Mathematics as their main subject in either in their graduation or 10+2 to be eligible.
    • Candidates who belong to SC/ ST/ OBC/ PD categories eligibility criteria is a minimum of 40 percent in every subject.

Age Requirement: The minimum age required to be eligible to write KMAT is 21 years. There is no specific upper age limit to write KMAT. The KMAT eligibility criteria for the reserved category candidates is determined as per UGC guidelines.

KMAT 2018 Application Process

Steps to apply for KMAT Examination 2018:

  • The application form for KMAT 2018 will be available on the website, candidate who has fulfilled the eligibility criteria can get the application form in the first week of May 2018.
  • Candidates have to log in to the website, you will receive an ID and Password using which the candidates have to fill the application form for KMAT Exam.
  • Candidates have to fill in Personal Details, Education Qualification, and Contact Details.
  • Now candidates should pick a venue for KMAT exam and select the course you want to apply for.
  • Candidates can now pay the application fees and submit the documents for the KMAT Exam.
  • Candidates can either select Online or Offline mode of payment for KMAT.

KMAT 2018 Application Form Details

  • Candidates can register for KMAT on the official website for KMAT Exam 2018 from the first week of May 2018. Interested candidates are supposed to register their names by applying in the prescribed application form online by the second week of May 2018.
  • Candidates can take a printout of the form for future reference.
  • Exam centres for KMAT will be allocated by the third week of May 2018.
  • Candidates can download admit card in the third week of May 2018 and the exam for KMAT will be held in the last week of May 2018.
  • Results will be announced in the last week of May 2018.

Steps to download Admit Card for KMAT are listed below:

  • The admit card for KMAT 2018 will be available on the official website for all registered candidates who have made the application fee payment within the set deadline.
  • The admit card is available from May 2018, until the date of the main entrance examination.
  • The admit card will only be available online.
  • The offline issue of the admit card will not be available.
  • It contains information about the candidate and KMAT exam 2018
  • The admit card has the enrollment number, exam centre, exam course, date and timing.

KMAT 2018 Exam Pattern

KMAT exam is an Offline Objective Type which has a total of 120 questions which students are required to answer in two hours.

KMAT 2018 Results

Results for KMAT will be announced in the Second week of June 2018 that is two weeks after the KMAT exam is held.

The results can be checked on the official website for KMAT.

The following are the steps to check for KMAT results:

  • The merit list or result of KMAT 2018 will be available on the website of Karnataka Private Post Graduate College’s Association, under the Results tab.
  • The notification for result day too will be available on the website.
  • For accessing the result, candidates will have to use their login ID and password that had been generated at the time of registration.
  • Post-verification can be done through your Date of Birth and admit card number, the result will be shown on the screen.
  • A printout for the result can always be taken for further reference.
  • The result card has to be taken for counselling.It is a mandatory document along with the admit card.

KMAT 2018 Counselling

169 Colleges are affiliated to the Karnataka Private Post Graduate College’s Association. Once the results of the written test of KMAT 2017 is announced and each institute under the Karnataka Private Post Graduate College’s Association has set a cut-off for qualification to their courses, the counselling process will be announced.

Counselling Process:

  • A cut- off is set by each college under KPPGC after the announcement of the results.
  • The candidate who has satisfied the eligibility criteria set y these colleges can apply and wait for the next step
  • There is a Group Discussion which is followed by the results.
  • After clearing this GD, there is also a Personal Interview for the qualified candidates at the institute campuses.
  • However, some institutions might choose to have both or either of the two as part of their selection process for candidates.

  • The candidates 10 +2 marks card.
  • The KMAT Admit Card.

  • The eligibility criteria for joining the Jawaharlal College of Engineering and Technology is clearing the KMAT KERALA exam or the students can join through management quota also.
