An Overview on IBPS LIC Recruitment Exam:

LIC needs no introduction, a well-known brand name for the majority of us, is the biggest insurance company in India. Constituted by an Act of Parliament 60 years ago, Life Insurance Corporation of India presently operates from more than 3000 offices, and the managed assets under the company already crossed a whopping 16 lakh crores.

LIC is also one of the greatest employers in India; as of 2015, the company has a reported employee strength close to 1L, and, at least, 10 Lakh agents.

The officers and regular employees in LIC of India are chosen through an online entrance test, that is now managed by IBPS.

Advantages of a career at LIC:

  • The duty of the is generally office-oriented: assignments include managing accounts, communicating daily affairs with authorities, planning branch activities, implementing decisions taken at higher levels, dealing with legal matters, processing claims, marketing, taking advertising strategies, managing funds, etc.
  • LIC is responsible for policy sales, and hiring new agents for the corporation. LIC is one of the officials who trains and guides the agents on policy servicing and customer assistance.
  • AAO job is not directly involved in LIC policy sales, so they don’t have any targets. ADOs may have sale targets to achieve, and their promotion and emoluments are associated with the business they bring in.
  • AAO Job is suitable for both men and women. However, ADO position may involve a bit more travelling and field work; it would be difficult for the women officers who are not experienced in sales.
  • The latest salary figure of an LIC AAO is above Rs. 40,000, and is more than what a Bank PO gets. ADOs have lower salaries, but their earning potential is unlimited on account of the commission revenue.
  • Sundays and Saturdays are holidays for LIC Officers.
  • LIC officers are entitled to life insurance at a lower premium, health coverage, gratuity, PF, loans. etc.

One disadvantage of this career option is that the LIC requires the newly appointed officers to sign a job contract/bond for four years from the date of their joining. You will have to pay around Rs. 2 Lakhs to the corporation if you wish to switch to a better job in this period.

LIC AAO 2018 Important Dates

LIC Agent Exam Date: To appear for LIC Agent exam, Candidates should contact nearest Branch Office and meet the Development Officer. LIC Agent exam is conducted every month.

Other LIC Exam:

  • Candidates applying for IBPS LIC Exam can fill the form and submit between December 2016 - January 2018.
  • Admit Card for IBPS LIC Exam will be available in the last week of February 2018.
  • IBPS LIC Exam will be conducted in three shifts in the first two weeks of March 2018.
  • The Results for IBPS LIC Exam will be available in April or May 2018.

LIC AAO 2018 Eligibility

Age Limit for IBPS LIC Exam:

  • Candidates must be between 21 years and 30 years to appear for IBPS LIC Exam.
  • Candidates of the reserved category will be offered appropriate relaxation in their upper age.

Education Qualification:

  • Contenders must have a bachelor degree in any discipline from a university or institute recognised by Parliament or State Legislature.

Nationality: All Indian national can apply for IBPS LIC Exam 2018.

Application Fee: 

  • For General Candidates: Rs. 600/-.
  • For SC/ST Candidates: Rs. 100/-.

LIC AAO 2018 Application Process

The Application Process for IBPS LIC is as follows:

  • LIC notifies the recruitment drive on their Official Website.
  • IBPS’s open web form for the online registration of candidates to the IBPS LIC Exams.
  • Candidates get the call letter for the exam.
  • LIC Exams take place.
  • Results are released on LIC Official Website.
  • Interview call letter comes in.
  • Common Interviews are held.
  • Medical screening for qualified candidates.
  • Final results for Recruitment.
  • Selection, followed by training and probation at LIC offices.

LIC AAO 2018 Application Form Details

The Following are the Application Form Details for IBPS LIC Exam:

  • Candidates can apply for the exam through the LIC Online Application Form.
  • First, Candidates will have to submit their Personal Details, Education Qualification, and Contact Details.
  • Second, Candidates have to upload their passport Size Photograph along with the Digital Signature.
  • Now make the payment for the IBPS LIC Exam, that conclude the application form submission.

LIC AAO 2018 Admit Card

Admit Card Availability: The Admit Card for IBPS LIC Exam will be available to the candidates who has successfully paid the fee for the exam. Admit Card will be available in the month of  February 2018.

Candidates have to get their Admit Card for the IBPS LIC Exam. Candidates who fail to do so will not be allowed to write IBPS LIC Exam 2018.

LIC AAO 2018 Exam Pattern

The Offline Exam will consist of the following papers:

  • Paper-I (Objective):
    • Reasoning Ability (Bilingual)
    • General Knowledge and Current Affairs (Bilingual)
    • Numerical Ability (Bilingual)
    • English Language with special emphasis on grammar and vocabulary.
  • Paper-II (Descriptive):
    • Test on Essay (can be written in Hindi or English)
    • Precise and Comprehension in English

As per the LIC Examination Pattern, candidates will have to appear in the online objective test:

  • The IBPS LIC Exam has 160 questions of 300 Marks. Time allotted to complete the exam will be 2 hours. 1/4 marks will be removed for every wrong answer.
  • Questions in this Exam will be from five sections (Reasoning Ability, Numerical Ability, General Awareness, English Language and Computer Knowledge).

LIC AAO 2018 Results

  • IBPS LIC Examination Results will be available in April or May 2017.

LIC AAO 2018 Counselling

  • The interview is the counselling stage for LIC recruitment.
  • Candidates who get the minimum expected score in all subjects will get an invitation on their registered mobile phone/email along with a link to download the hall ticket for the interview.
  • LIC along with IBPS will make a combined mark list after the Interview. This new list will be the final result for IBPS LIC examination.
  • Candidates who get selected to work for LIC will have to go through medical screening as per the policies of LIC.
  • After the Medical Screening candidates get enlisted in the company for a probation period of up to two years.

On-line Test: On-line test will be of objective type, multiple choice of two hours duration comprising of the following two papers 

  • Paper I: Test of Reasoning and Numerical Ability
  • Paper II: General Knowledge, Current Affairs, and English Language with Special emphasis on Grammar and Vocabulary
  • Paper III: Insurance and Financial Marketing Awareness

Candidate must pass in each paper separately and should also obtain minimum marks in the aggregate of the two papers to qualify for the interview.
