Law School Admission Test (LSAT) 2017:

LSAT 2017 is an entrance exam conducted by Pearson VUE India on behalf of Law School Admission Council (LSAC) for admissions to different law courses such as B.A LL.B., B.Sc LL.B. and B.Com LL.B.

The benefit of clearing the LSAT entrance exam is that the candidate becomes eligible to take admissions to multiple law colleges across India that recognize LSAT – India scores.

The LSAT exam is conducted during the month of May in 16 different cities across India.

This LSAT entrance exam is conducted to check the aptitude, verbal reasoning skills and subject knowledge of the candidate.

LSAT is an exam that tests the reading and verbal reasoning skills of the candidates. The exam is conducted by USA based Law School Admission Council (LSAC).

LSAT 2018 Important Dates

  • The commencement of the online LSAT applications submissions is on the 14th of September 2016.
  • The last date for LSAT Online Applications is on the 10th of April 2017.
  • The date of release of the LSAT admission card is on the 15th of April 2017.
  • The last date to Download the LSAT Admit Card is on the 22nd of April 2017.
  • The LSAT exam date is scheduled to be on the 23rd of April 2017.
  • The Announcement of the LSAT Results is on the 20th of May 2017.

LSAT 2018 Eligibility

The LSAT conducting authority has not specified any eligibility criteria as such. 

The eligibility criteria for admission will be based on the university the candidate wishes to apply to but the candidate must fulfil the basic Eligibility Criteria before applying for LSAT

No candidate will be allowed to write the LSAT Exam without satisfying the basic eligibility.

The basic eligibility criteria for LSAT 2017 are as follows:

  • To get admission in BA LLB program, the applicant must have cleared class XII exam with a minimum of 45 per cent aggregate marks to satisfy eligibility. The applicants who are appearing for class XII exam are also eligible to apply.
  • To get admission in LLB courses, the applicant must have a Bachelor’s degree from an institute that is UGC approved and must have a minimum of 45 per cent aggregate marks to satisfy eligibility. The applicants who are currently in the final year of Bachelor’s degree can also be eligible.
  • To get admission in LLM courses, the applicant must have passed three years LLB or five years of BA LLB and must have 45 percent aggregate marks.

LSAT 2018 Application Process

Application Process for LSAT 2017:

  • The aspiring LSAT Applicants must register online by logging onto the official LSAT website and submit their basic details.
  • The applicants need to enter their personal details, education and other details correctly as mentioned in the LSAT form and submit it, to complete the LSAT registration process.
  • The candidate is now successfully registered and will receive a LSAT India registration number.
  • The candidates need to share this LSAT India registration number while submitting the LSAT application forms to the associated colleges.
  • After obtaining the LSAT registration number the candidate is required to download the LSAT Application Form.
  • The applicants are advised to mention their full name and the LSAT India registration number on the backside of the envelope.
  • The applicant should send the downloaded LSAT form along with the DD either by courier or post on the LSAT address given below:

LSAT 2018 Application Form Details

The candidates interested who are has to apply online. Candidates can click on  “Apply” link online on the official LSAT website to begin the application process. The candidates can start applying for LSAT from 14th September 2016.

Pearson VUE India does not accept any other mode of registration for LSAT other than online.


Registration Fee and Payment Method for LSAT 2017:

  • The registration fee for LSAT 2017 is Rs 3800 payable by credit card or demand draft/pay order/banker’s cheque.
  • Pay online- In the online mode, the LSAT exam conducting authority accepts the payment that is made through VISA and Master Cards issued in India.
  • Pay offline- The candidate can also pay the LSAT exam fee in offline mode using demand draft/pay order/banker’s cheque. In the case of making payments through offline methods, the candidate should enter the demand draft details online in the LSAT Application Form, then obtain an online acknowledgement. After receiving the acknowledgement, the aspiring LSAT candidate should mail the demand draft/PO/Banker’s cheque to the address mentioned in the application process.

Note- Students should note that demand draft/P0/Banker’s cheque should be drawn from any nationalised bank in the name of Pearson India Education Services Private Limited payable at New Delhi or Noida.

LSAT 2018 Admit Card

Once the applicant has filled the LSAT Application Form correctly and registers, the LSAT Admit card becomes available online at the official LSAT website of Pearson VUE India.

Without the LSAT Admit card, an applicant is not allowed to enter the LSAT examination hall. An aspiring LSAT applicant can download the admit card by signing into the official LSAT website. It is advised that the applicant must take a printout of the LSAT Admit Card, preserve it carefully and later present it at the time of the LSAT exam.

 The LSAT Admit card contains a Unique Identification Number which is the applicant’s LSAT registration number.

Note that the LSAT Admit Card will not be delivered through post or email. The applicant will have to download it.

Steps to download LSAT 2017 Admit Card:

The LSAT admit card for the exam will be available online on the official LSAT website. The LSAT Admit Card can be downloaded from your candidate’s LSAT account created during LSAT Registration. You must remember that the LSAT admit card will not be mailed to any candidate. You have to download your LSAT admit card from your LSAT account before the LSAT exam day.

The steps to download LSAT Admit Card are given below:

  • Go to the official LSAT website to get the LSAT, Admit Card.
  • Click on the “Existing User” tab.
  • Enter your LSAT login id and password.
  • Click on Login.
  • You will be redirected to your LSAT candidate profile.
  • Click on the “Download LSAT Admit Card” button.
  • Save your LSAT admit card on your system and take a print out.

LSAT 2017 Admit Card Details:

The LSAT Admit Card will have the following details:

  • Name.
  • Exam date.
  • Time .
  • Exam centre address.
  • User ID No./Registration Number.

LSAT 2018 Exam Pattern

General LSAT Exam Information:

LSAT Exam mode: Offline (pen-paper mode)

    • LSAT Exam duration: 2 hours and 20 minutes.
    • Total no. of questions in the LSAT exam: 100.
    • Each LSAT test section contains 25 marks.
    • There is no negative marking for wrong answers.

    Questions will be asked on the following sections:

    • Analytical reasoning
    • Logical reasoning (Part – 1)
    • Logical reasoning (Part – 2)
    • Reading comprehension
  • The LSAT test sections include Analytical Reasoning and it will have an approximate 24 questions and must finish within 35 minutes.
  • The LSAT test sections include 1st Logical Reasoning and it will have an approximate 24 questions and must finish within 35 minutes.
  • The LSAT test sections include 2nd logical Reasoning and it will have an approximate 24 questions and must finish within 35 minutes.
  • The LSAT test sections include Reading Comprehension and it will have an approximate 24 questions and must finish within 35 minutes.
  • The total test sections are 4 and include 92-100 questions and the time limit is 2 hours and 20 minutes.

LSAT 2017 Syllabus for Analytical Reasoning:

  • These LSAT questions are based on the student’s ability to understand the structure of relationships and to arrive at logical conclusions about these structures.

          Your reasoning should be accompanied with a provable set of rules and principles that explain the relationships between persons, things, or events.

          The questions in this LSAT Test section are based on complex analysis that a law student is expected to perform during the course of legal problem-solving.

LSAT 2017 Syllabus for Logical Reasoning:

  • The questions in this LSAT test section are designed to test your ability to analyse, evaluate, and complete arguments in most ordinary and understandable language (layman terms).
  • You will be required to attempt comprehension based passages where you are required to read the passage and answer the questions that follow.
  • These questions are designed to test the student's ability to think critically and in the legal context of affairs.
  • The skills required to score well with this section include drawing well-supported conclusions, reasoning by analogy, determining how additional evidence affects an argument,     applying rules and principles and also identifying flaws in the argument.

LSAT 2017 Syllabus for Reading Comprehension:

  • The questions in this LSAT Test section are designed to examine the student's ability to read, understand, and describe insight complex material identical to the ones asked in law school.

  • The Reading comprehension section comprises of four sets of reading passages.

  • The students are given reading material followed by four to nine questions that judge reading and reasoning abilities.

LSAT 2018 Results

LSAT 2017 Result:

 

  • The results of the LSAT 2017 exam will be declared on the official LSAT website on 20th May 2017.
  • The applicants can see the LSAT result online by entering details such as LSAT login ID and password.
  • Pearson VUE does not provide a LSAT result rank lists.
  • They pass the results to the LSAT participating colleges. The aspiring LSAT applicants who have scored high marks will be preferred in comparison to the candidates having low marks in the Results given by the LSAT organising body. The participating institutes will then shortlist the LSAT applicants and send those invites for counselling sessions.
  • The name of the finalists will be declared only once the LSAT counselling process gets over.

LSAT 2018 Counselling

LSAT 2017 Counselling:

  • The counselling process and allotment of seats for LSAT India 2017 are decided by various law schools that participate in the law school admission test (LSAT).
  • These law schools receive the LSAT scores and they shortlist the applicants on the basis of the percentile scores.
  • For the LSAT counselling sessions, the applicants must bring original documents and certificates.
  • If the applicants fail to bring the required documents and certificates then their admission gets cancelled.
  • The applicants are not allowed to bring downloaded mark sheets and certificates.
  • Note that the LSAT counselling session is done for applicants who have cleared the LSAT exam.

Eligibility Criteria and Admission Process:
  • The eligibility criteria for admission in BBA-LLB in KLE Society's Law College  is passing in 12th boards exams from any state board or national board, other than an open board or NIOS( National Institute of Open Schooling).

  • There are  2 ways for admission procedure for this course, 1st is by the entrance exam that is LSAT and the other is by the marks scored in 12 boards. Preference is given to LSAT students and for others who come without writing LSAT exam for them admission in done on the basis of their boards results. There are no typical cutoffs for the course, admission is done on merit basis.

  • The process is same for NRI and foreign students
