Eligibility Criteria for MHT CET 2018 

Eligibility for candidates appearing for MHT CET 2018 Engineering, Pharmacy:

  • There is no age limit specified for candidates to be eligible to appear for MHT CET engineering.
  • Candidates must be citizens of India to be eligible for MHT CET 2018 
  • Candidates are required to have passed the 12th exam from any board to be eligible for MHT CET 2018 
  • Candidates need to have a 50% aggregate marks in physics, chemistry, biology to be eligible.
  • Candidates belonging to the SC/ST category of the society need to have at least 45% aggregate to be eligible.

Seats are reserved for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Other Backwards Classes.


Jammu and Kashmir Migrant Candidature:

The candidates who are looking to get the reservation under J&K Migrant candidature should fulfill one of these criteria's.

  • The children of citizens, who are displaced from Jammu and Kashmir to any part of India or from unsafe border area of Jammu and Kashmir to a relatively safer place in Jammu and Kashmir from 1990 onwards due to terrorist activities.
  • The children of officers belonging to Indian Administrative Services (IAS) or Indian Police Services (IPS) or Indian Foreign Services (IFS) and children of staff belonging to military and paramilitary forces transferred to Jammu and Kashmir to combat terrorist activities and joined the post on or before the last date for submission of application for admission.
  • The children of staff and officers of Jammu and Kashmir police engaged in combating terrorism are eligible under this category.

Note: However as preference is given to the J&K Migrant candidates appeared for JEE Main 2018 over MHT CET 2018 are advised to appear for JEE Main 2018.


Children of NRI/OCI/PIO, Children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries, Foreign National:

  • These types of Candidature Candidates are exempted from appearing for MHT CET 2018.
  • It is mandatory to appear for MHT CET 2018 for candidates belonging to Maharashtra State Candidature, Minority Candidature seeking admission to B.E./B.Tech.
  • However, All India Candidature & Jammu and Kashmir Migrant Candidature candidates may or may not appear for MHT CET 2018 as Score of JEE Main shall be preferred over MHT ­CET 2018 for admission to B.E./B.Tech.
  • It is mandatory to appear for MHT CET 2018 for candidates belonging to Maharashtra State Candidature, Minority Candidature All India Candidature, & Jammu and Kashmir Migrant Candidature seeking admission to B. Pharm./Pharm. D.

Course wise Eligibility Criterion:

First Year of Engineering: 

Maharashtra State Candidature Candidates:

  • The Candidate should be an Indian National.
  • Passed HSC or its equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or Technical or Vocational subjects, and obtained at least required percentage of marks (as notified by the Government from time to time) in the above subjects taken together.
  • Obtained score in MHT CET 2018 conducted by the Competent Authority.

All India Candidature Candidates, Jammu and Kashmir Migrant Candidature:

  • The Candidate should be an Indian National.
  • Passed HSC or its equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or Technical or Vocational subjects and obtained at least required percentage of marks (as notified by the Government from time to time) in the above subjects taken together.
  • Obtained score in JEE Main Paper I or MHT CET 2018.

First Year in Pharmacy:

Maharashtra State Candidature Candidates and All India Candidature Candidates:

  • The candidate should be an Indian National.
  • Passed HSC or its equivalent examination with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with one of the Mathematics or Biotechnology or Biology and obtained at least required percentage of marks (as notified by the Government from time to time) in the above subjects taken together.
  • Obtained Score in MHT CET 2018.

First Year Pharm D:

Maharashtra State Candidature and All India Candidature Candidates:

  • The candidate should be an Indian National.
  • Passed HSC or its equivalent examination with subjects Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with one of the Mathematics or Biotechnology or Biology and obtained at least required percentage of marks (as notified by the Government from time to time) in the above subjects taken together.
    Or
    Passed Diploma Course in Pharmacy from institutes affiliated to State Board and having the approval of competent central authority and State Government and obtained at least required percentage of marks (as notified by the Government from time to time).
  • The candidate should have obtained at least 50% marks in the MHT CET 2018.

Eligibility Criteria for Candidates belonging to Person with Disability:

In addition to the basic qualification mentioned above, candidate who is suffering from any one of the following permanent disability is eligible to seek admission against seats reserved for Persons with Disability candidates (i.e. Candidate who is visually impaired (blind) Candidate type- Pl, Candidate who is speech & hearing impaired (deaf & dumb) Candidate type- P2, Candidate who has orthopedic disorders, learning disabilities, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dysgraphia, Spastic Candidate type -P3), provided they submit a certificate clearly stating that the extent of disability is not less than 40% and the disability is of permanent nature.


Admission to Mining Engineering course:

Female candidates are not eligible for admission to Mining Engineering course.

Yes, it is necessary to take MHT CET 2017.

You are required to register and appear for MAH MBA/MMS CET 2017. But you can later apply via your XAT CAT scores they will take your best scores.
