MANIPAL UNIVERSITY ONLINE ENTRANCE TEST MU OET 2018 :

MU OET, Manipal University Online Entrance Test is a University level entrance test conducted by the Manipal University for all the eligible candidates. The test provides admissions to eligible students in various UG and PG courses in the field of engineering, pharmacy, and many others. The students seeking for admissions offered by Manipal University and its constituent colleges must apply for this exam before the last date of form application and registration.

Admission to Manipal University is via online entrance examination MU OET, which is held at many centers across India.It is assumed that the candidate taking the online test has basic knowledge of computers and is comfortable using the keyboard and mouse.

MU OET 2018 Eligibility

  • For MU OET 2018, the eligibility criteria are set by the Manipal University. For being eligible to take the exam, the applicants must satisfy the rules set-up by Manipal University. The eligibility criteria are set for B. TECH programs for all the colleges doing their admission through MU OET. The student applying for these institutes have to satisfy the eligibility criteria set by Manipal University. The eligibility criteria for MU OET is:

 The eligibility criteria for MU OET is:

  • The applicants eligible to write the exam should have passed the 12th class qualifying examination from a recognized board.
  • Physics and Maths are compulsory subjects to fulfill the eligibility criteria.
  • Minimum 50% marks must have been obtained in these exams to be eligible to write MU OET.
  • According to Manipal University eligibility criteria, the applicants must have studied Physics, Mathematics, and English as compulsory subjects in class 12th.
  • Chemistry, biology or biotechnology as the optional ones to be eligible to write MU OET.

MU OET 2018 Application Process

  • Candidates who want to participate in the MU OET 2018 exam have to fill and submit the Application form via online mode to be eligible to write.
  • The application forms will be available on the website from October 2017
  • The last date to apply for MU OET is 11 November 2017.
  • All instructions to fill the application form are made by the Manipal University.
  • There are five steps involved in applying for MU OET.
  • The five steps are filling personal information, contact details, qualification details, programs and fee payment, and confirmation.

Required documents for MU OET are:

On the day of the MU OET when you report to the test center, you need to bring the following with you:

  • Two xerox copies of the e-hall ticket,
  • One xerox of the application form
  • And any one of the following things for photo identification: Passport/Driving License/EC Voter ID card/IT PAN card or School/College photo-bearing ID card.

 NOTE: The eligible candidate has to have the documents mentioned above to write MU OET.

MU OET 2018 Application Form Details

  • Candidates can apply via online mode only for MU OET. Online Application form can be downloaded from the website of Manipal University. There are 5 steps involved in filling the application form. The instructions are specified by the Manipal University. The eligible candidate has to fill in their personal information, contact details, qualification details, programs and fee payment, and confirmation.

 The instructions to fill the application form for MU OET 2018 are mentioned below:

STEP 1: Personal Information

Candidates have to provide their personal info such as

  • Name of the candidate
  • gender of the candidate
  • Email Address.
  • Category
  • Date of Birth
  • Stream
  • Country
  • City etc.

After successfully filling the registration form of MU OET 2018, the candidate will receive an application number and a password which will be generated and later on mailed to the candidate's email address. Using the same, the candidates must login onto the official website.

STEP 2: Contact Details

After logging in, the candidates will have to enter their contact details such as:

  • complete address
  • city
  • state
  • pin code
  • mobile number of the eligible candidate
  • email id etc.

STEP 3: Qualification Details

Candidates will enter their educational qualifications such as:

  • Qualifying exam Name
  • Year of Passing
  • Name of Institute, board/ university name etc.

The eligible candidates are required to upload the scanned copies of their signature and photograph in the specified format. Finally, they must click on I AGREE to finish this step and move on to the next one.

STEP 4: Programs and Fee Payment

The eligible candidates have to enter the course they wish to pursue, and other personal information if asked. The candidates have to choose 2 test centers among the various options given for test center for the MU OET 2018 exam.

Candidates can pay the application fees via Credit/ Debit card, Net Banking or DD. The fee details are mentioned above.

STEP 5: Confirmation

The eligible applicants can check the status of the online application forms by logging in to the website using the application number and password given to them. This shall complete the application process for MU OET 2018.


 Mode of Application Fee Payment:

Online Mode: If the eligible candidates want to submit their application fee to write MU OET via online mode, they have to choose Credit/ Debit card or Net Banking. Candidates have to pay Rs. 1600.

Offline Mode: If candidates want to submit their application fee to write MU OET via offline mode, they have to choose Demand Draft option. Candidates have to make the payment via the demand draft, in the favor of “Manipal University” payable at Manipal. Candidates need to pay Rs. 1600.

MU OET 2018 Admit Card

  • The eligible students can get their admit card online on the website used to register for the exam. The eligible student has to log in the website using the email address and password provided. The student eligible to write MU OET 2018 will get their admit card in April 2018.

  • The admit card has your e-hall ticket number, the course you have applied for, the address of the test centre, and slot of your test.
  • The system will generate the e-hall ticket/ admit card 24 hours after you have booked your slot via the online test booking system to write MU OET.
  • The admit card issued to candidates who book their slots using the online test booking system before the last date for various courses as per the booking schedule for MU OET.
  • You can download your e-hall ticket/ admit card for MU OET from the official website of Manipal University.
  • To do that you have to specify your application form number and online test booking password.
  • A copy of your e-hall ticket/ admit card will be emailed to you.

 How to download the MU OET admit card:

  • Go to the official website for MU OET.
  • Click on the link provided to download the admit card.
  • Fill in your ID and password on the page that opens.
  • Click on submit to view the admit card.
  • Download and print the admit card.

 Important details regarding the MU OET admit card:

  • When the eligible candidate produces the MU OET admit card at the exam centre, he or she will also need to carry a photocopy of a valid identity proof. The candidate is requested to visit the official website regularly for latest updates.
  • Do not miss out on taking a printout of the Admit Card since it is mandatory for getting an entry in the MU OET examination hall before the counselling process.
  • The candidate eligible to write the exam has to have the admit card till the exams are done.
  • The candidate will have to carry PAN card or Aadhar card or any such relevant identity proof along with the admit card to the exam hall.
  • Only candidates who have submitted the MU OET application form in the right order as well as sent over the MU OET application fee earlier than or on the due date will have access to download the MU OET admit Card.
  • It is advised to all candidates that they check all the details mentioned on the MU OET admit card. Any discrepancies in the admit card details should be brought to the notice of the concerned authorities immediately.
  • Admit card should not be tampered with as it is an important document.
  • Plagiarising the admit card is a punishable offence. Any candidate found trying to plagiarise the MU OET admit card will be barred from writing the MU OET exam and strict action will be taken against him or her.

MU OET 2018 Exam Pattern

For M.Tech, M.Sc, and B.Tech:

  • Each question is of four marks. A correct answer will fetch you four marks; a wrong answer will result in a one-mark deduction; unanswered questions will get no marks.

 Other courses:

  • Each question is of one mark. A correct answer will fetch you one mark; a wrong answer or unanswered questions will get no marks.
  • The final score will be displayed on the screen immediately after the test is over. The candidate should write the score in the printout of the scorecard in the presence of the invigilator.

 Exam Pattern for B.Tech Course for MU OET:

  • Physics will have 50 questions in the  MU OET exams.
  • Chemistry will have 50 questions in the  MU OET exams.
  • Mathematics will have 70 questions in the  MU OET exams.
  • English and General Aptitude will have 30 questions in the  MU OET exams.
  • And a total of 200 questions in the MU OET exams.

 Exam Pattern for BBA Course for MU OET:

  • Numeracy subject will have 20 questions in the specialised coursed exam for MU OET.
  • The conceptual subject will have 25 questions in the specialised coursed exam for MU OET.
  • The general English subject will have 20 questions in the specialised coursed exam for MU OET.
  • The case study subject will have 15 questions in the specialised coursed exam for MU OET.
  • And a total of 4 subjects and 100 questions.

 Exam Pattern for B.Tech (Lateral) for MU OET:

  • The Mathematics subject will have 50 questions in the specialised coursed exam for MU OET.
  • Physics subject will have 10 questions in the specialised coursed exam for MU OET.
  • Chemistry subject will have 10 questions in the specialised coursed exam for MU OET.
  • Communication skills in English subject will have 20 questions in the specialised coursed exam for MU OET.
  • And a total of 4 subjects and 90 questions.

 Exam Pattern for MCA course for MU OET:

  • Mental Ability subject will have 25 questions in the specialised coursed exam for MU OET.
  • Basic Mathematics subject will have 10 questions in the specialised coursed exam for MU OET.
  • General English subject will have 25 questions in the specialised coursed exam for MU OET.
  • Computer Aptitude subject will have 40 questions in the specialised coursed exam for MU OET.
  • And a total of 4 subjects and 100 questions.

 Online test booking system for MU OET:

  • The online test booking system is a web-based scheduling system available on www.manipal.edu. The candidate can check out the test centres here and book a suitable slot for himself. The slots are booked on the first-come-first-served basis.

 Online test booking password for MU OET:

  • The online test booking secure password will be emailed to the candidates in advance. If you do not receive it, you should immediately report this matter to the admission office. Once you receive the password, please keep it completely confidential. Please do not disclose it to any person, or auto-save it. The online test booking password is your sole authentication for the online test and all other related transactions; it is not of any use to someone else, and therefore, it should be kept confidential.

MU OET 2018 Results

  • The MU OET 2018 Result will be declared on the official website of the university. The results will be released by the Manipal University. The students can check their results only in online mode. The result will be announced in the last week of May 2018.The eligible applicants are suggested to take printouts of the results for future use.

 How to get the results for MU OET 2018:

  • The eligible applicants should visit the Official Website of Manipal University.
  • Enter the Application Number given in your admit card.
  • After entering the correct application number, Click on the “Submit” button.
  • Now view and download the result displayed on the screen.

MU OET 2018 Counselling

  • The MU OET 2018 counselling procedure will start from the first week of June 2018. Applicants are required to select the venue at the time of exam slot booking. Counselling schedule will be posted on the official website of the university. Applicants are required to be present at the time of counselling. Applicants will be called according to their ranks and asked to choose a seat from available options. He/ she must bring the required documents along with the admission fees. Please note that your absence or the absence of your representative at the indicated reporting time and date for counselling will result in the instantaneous forfeiture of your claim to a seat.The applicant of MU OET is allowed in the counselling hall. The applicants are called in order of their ranks in MU OET and are asked to choose from among the seats available for admission at the point of time.
