Eligibility Criteria for NATA 2018

For the individuals planning to appear for National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) 2018, the first most important step is to know the eligibility criteria and they should have the eligibility. The Eligibility criteria for the NATA 2018 exam is similar for all the candidates. The eligibility required is just a 50% mark in the SSC and HSC.

There is NO lower age limit to apply for NATA 2018. The eligibility criteria are as follows, In order get the eligibility for the NATA 2018 examination:

  • Candidates are required to clear their Senior Secondary (SSC) or 10th or equivalent examination to get the eligibility for NATA 2018 examination. 
  • Candidates are also required to pass their Higher Secondary (HSC) or 12th or equivalent examination or architecture course from a recognized university of India to get the eligibility for the NATA 2018 examination.
  • Minimum 50 percent marks are required in the examination with Mathematics being one of the main subjects to get the eligibility.
  • Otherwise, Candidates who had completed their 10+3 diploma from any subject with minimum 50 percent from State/Central Government have the eligibility for the NATA 2018 examination.
  • International Baccalaureate Diploma, after 10 years of schooling, with not less than 50% marks in aggregate and with Mathematics as compulsory subject of examination has the eligibility for the NATA 2018 examination.
  • Besides the marks scored by a student in his/her SSC and HSC, they have the eligibility for the NATA 2018 examination, if they scored an aggregate of 50% in their SSC or HSC.
  • Candidates do not have the eligibility to get a direct admission as the lateral entry in any year of the B.Arch.
  • After all the above-mentioned eligibility criteria are met out, a candidate will have the eligibility to apply for the NATA 2018 examination.

The eligibility criteria for the NATA 2018 Examination doesn't change with the age of the candidates or the community they belong to.

No direct lateral admission is allowed at any other year/stage of B. Arch. course based on any qualification.


Reservations under different categories:

  • NATA 2018 is a qualifying examination where a general merit list will be published along with score of the candidate. Reservation is a prerogative of the admission/ counselling authority and this examination has nothing to do with it.
  • Candidates with specific disability of colour blindness may be debarred from admission to B. Arch. Course, as per the policy of the respective institution/ University.
