  • The Recruitment of candidates to the Army, Navy and Air Force wings of the NDA (National Defence Academy), is done through The National Defence Academy Entrance Exam.
  • The National Defence Academy Entrance Exam is also called UPSC NDA 2018.
  • The UPSC NDA 2018 is held 2 times every year, generally in the month of April and September.
  • The NDA 2018 exam is conducted by the UPSC (Union Public Service Commission).
  • Any candidate willing to apply must be an unmarried male.
  • The candidates Joining The Indian Naval Academy would undergo a 4-year B.Tech Course and would be given an opportunity to join The Executive and Technical Branches of the Navy subject to availability of any vacancies in said branches.
  • Vacancies might change based on whether the training capacity of the NDA (National Defence Academy) changes.
  • The NDA and the Naval Academy have a total of 390 posts.
  • The NDA has 335 posts (208 Army posts, 55 Navy posts, 72 Air Force posts)
  • The Naval Academy has the remaining 55 posts.

NDA 2018 Eligibility

Eligibility

Candidate has to fullfil the eligibility criteria to write the UPSC NDA Exam.

Nationality

  • Candidate must be
    • a citizen of India
    • a subject of Bhutan and Nepal
    • a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India
    • a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, and Ethiopia or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India

Educational Qualification

  • Candidate must have been passed 10+2 Class from recognised board or University
