About NEET Exam:

National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is an examination conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education. NEET is a National level examination and is conducted every year in May. NEET examination enables candidates to seek admissions for graduate and postgraduate courses. NEET enables candidates to take admission for medical course, dental course or any post-graduation course.

NEET is an extremely competitive exam and lakhs of students appear for the same every year. There will be a single NEET for admission to medical and dental colleges. All seats (MBBS/BDS) of any medical/dental college will be filled by the score of NEET examination only. As per the last order by Hon. Supreme Court, no other exam except NEET will be held for offering admission into MBBS/BDS courses in India from the year 2018.

Even though NEET 2016 was conducted in English and Hindi, CBSE has announced that students can write exams in Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Bengali, Assamese and Gujarati languages from 2018 onwards. Kannada and Odia languages are added to the list as of now and students can write the exams in nine Indian languages and English. The apex court ruled that the Medical Council of India cannot conduct a unified examination.
