Odisha Joint Entrance Examination commonly referred to as the OJEE, is a popular test that candidates aspiring to take up different courses at the graduation level in Odisha can take.

The exam is required for taking admission:

  • Homoeopathy/ Ayurveda/ Pharmacy and Integrated MBA (5 years),
  • Lateral Admission to Second Year (3rd Semester)
  • Engineering/ Technology/ Pharmacy/ MCA and
  • First Year Master’s Degree courses in Computer Application (MCA),
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA)
  • M. Tech/ M. Pharm/ M. Arch/ M. Plan.

The state colleges have a number of seats for B.Tech in a number of engineering disciplines. The seats used to be filled as per the performance of candidates taking the JEE Mains.
However, since 2015, the state introduced OJEE for candidates willing to take admissions into the colleges in Odisha.

OJEE will be held in the month of May 2018.

You must note that no other entrance examination will be held by any authority for admission to B.Tech in the Odisha state colleges.

OJEE 2018 Important Dates

  • OJEE application form availability: The OJEE online application form will be available from 3rd February 2018  till 10th March 2018 .
  • OJEE admit card: The OJEE admit card will be available on 20th April 2018 .

OJEE 2018 Eligibility

  • Eligiblity criteria regarding exams: Candidates should have passed their 10+2 examination from the Odisha Board or CHSE. They should have had Physics and Mathematics as their main subjects. Candidates should have studied one of the following subjects which is Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Technical Vocational subject, Electronics, IT, Computer Science, Geology or Statistics.
  • Eligibility criteria regarding Nationality: The candidate should be an Indian national.
  • Eligibility criteria regarding marks in the qualifying exam:Candidates should have scored atleast 45% in the qualifying examination. For the SC/ST/OBC and Physically handicapped category candidates the cut-off is 40%.
  • Eligibility criteria regarding reservation of seats: There is reservation for the SC/ST/OBC and Physically handicapped category candidates.
  • Eligibility criteria regarding age limit: There is no age limit.
  • Eligibility criteria for all courses:
  • BAMS and BHMS: Candidates should have scored 50% in the qualifying examination. (40% for SC/ST category candidates). Candidates should have passed their 10+2 examination of CHSE, Odisha or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
  • B Planning: Candidates should have scored 45% in the qualifying examination ( 40% for SC/ST category candidates).
  • B.Pharma: Candidates should have scored 45% in the qualifying examination ( 40% for SC/ST category candidates). Candidates should have passed their 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry and any one (Mathematics, Biology, BioTech, Technical Vocational Subject, Electronics, Computer Science, IT, Statistics or Geology).
  • LE B.Tech: Candidates should have scored 45% in the qualifying examination ( 40% for SC/ST category candidates). Candidates should have completed a 3-year diploma course in an appropriate branch of engineering/technology.
  • LE Pharma: Candidates should have scored 45% in the qualifying examination ( 40% for SC/ST category candidates). Candidates should have a diploma in Pharmacy.
  • MBA: Candidates should have scored 50% in the qualifying examination. (45% for SC/ST category candidates). The candidate should be a graduate.
  • MCA: Candidates should have scored 50% in the qualifying examination. (45% for SC/ST category candidates). Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree (BCA, BSc (IT/CS/IST/ITM)) in any stream. Candidates should have had Mathematics in 12th or at graduate level.
  • Integrated MBA: Candidates should have scored 45% in the qualifying examination ( 40% for SC/ST category candidates). Candidates should have passed their 10+2 examination in any stream.
  • M.Tech/M.Arch/M.Plan/M.Pharma: Candidates should have scored 50% in the qualifying examination. (45% for SC/ST category candidates). For M.Tech, students should have passed/appearing for their bachelor's degree examination (B.Tech). For M Pharm, students should have passed/ appearing for their bachelor’s degree in pharmacy. For M.Arch, bachelor’s degree in architecture is required. For M.Plan, students should have passed bachelor’s degree in Economics, Geography, Sociology, Anthropology, Environmental Science, Statistics, Social works with specialization in Community Development and Rural Development.
  • Reservation policy: The reservation policy for the SC, ST, Green card, Physically Challenged, Ex-Servicemen, Oriya (Odia) belonging to outlying Oriya (Odia) speaking tracts (OL) and Women are 8%, 12%, 5%, 3%, 3%, 3%, and 30% in each category except ‘OL’ and ‘TFW’ respectively. The reservation policy for the SC, ST, Green card, Physically Challenged, Ex-Servicemen, Oriya (Odia) belonging to outlying Oriya (Odia) speaking tracts (OL) and Women are 8%, 12%, 5%, 3%, 3%, nil and 30% in each category (SC, ST, GC, PC, Ex-Service) respectively.

OJEE 2018 Application Process

  • Documents required: The candidate has to keep the following documents ready before they fill-in the online application form. The documents are Passport size Photograph of the candidate, Full signature of the candidate and Left Thumb impression of the candidate.
  • Specifications: The image of the candidate's photograph should be in JPEG format. The file size should be between 5 Kb to 99 Kb and the dimensions should be between 3.5cmx4.5cm. The image of the candidate's signature should be in JPEG format. The file size should be between 5 Kb to 50 Kb and the dimensions should be between 3.5cm x 1.5cm. The image of the thumb impression of the candidate should be in JPEG format. The file size should be between 5 Kb to 50 Kb and the dimensions should be between 3.5cm x 1.5cm.
  • Application procedure: The OJEE application forms will be available from the first week of February 2017 to March 2017. The online form will be available on the official website. The candidate has to create an account. After which an ID and password will be sent to the registered email ID. Candidates must fill in the form using the code key given on the website. They must select their course and fill in their details. Candidates must upload the documents required and then submit the form. They should deposit the fee and take a print out of the confirmation page.
  • Application fees: The OJEE application fees is Rs. 1000. The application fees has to be paid using either debit/credit card or net banking. Candidates who wish to apply offline can download the e-challan and deposit it with any State Bank of India, Canara Bank or Bank of Baroda branch. Candidates have to take a print out of the confirmed payment online. The payment can be made till 5 pm.

OJEE 2018 Application Form Details

  • OJEE Application form availability: The OJEE application forms will be available from 3rd February 2018 to 10th March 2018 
  • OJEE Submission of scanned images: The scanned images should be uploaded by March 2018.
  • OJEE Application form fee payment: The OJEE application fees should be paid by March 2018.
  • OJEE Admit card download: The OJEE admit card can be downloaded on 20th April 2018 
  • OJEE Exam date: The OJEE pencil-paper based exam will be held on 14th May 2018.

OJEE 2018 Admit Card

  • Date: The OJEE admit card will be available on 20th April 2018  Candidates can download the admit card from the Home Page of the Official website.
  • Mandatory document: The OJEE admit card is a mandatory document.
  • Admit card PDF: Candidates have to download a PDF version of the admit card and then take a print out.
  • Details: The admit card contains details about the name of the candidate, exam date, time, exam center and address, user ID and PWD/DA status.

OJEE 2018 Exam Pattern

  • Test center: The OJEE exam will be conducted at the offline test center which is specified.
  • Duration: The OJEE exam will be for a duration of 3 hours.
  • Type of questions: The OJEE exam will have multiple choice questions.
  • Marking Scheme: Every correct answer will be awarded 4 marks each while for each wrong answer there will be -1/4th mark deducted.
  • Negative marking: There is no negative marking. All the questions have to be answered and incase a candidate skips a question then they will be no negative marking.
  • Shift details: The first shift is from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. The courses offered are Physics / Chemistry (for 1st year Pharmacy/ /Homoeopathy/ Ayurveda)/ Test for MBA/ Test for Lateral Entry (2nd Year) (Diploma) to Engineering / Technology. The second shift is from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. The courses offered are Mathematics for 1st year Pharmacy/ Test for B Sc. (+3 Sc.) Lateral Entry to Engineering (2nd Year) / Test for LE (Pharma)/ Test for M. Pharma / Integrated MBA (5 years) /M.Plan. The third shift is from 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm. The courses offered are Biology for 1styear Pharmacy/ Homoeopathy/ Ayurveda. The third shift for the post graduate exam is from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm and the tests are Test for 1st year MCA/ Test for Lateral Entry (2nd Year) to MCA / Test for PGAT for M.Tech / M.Tech (Part Time) / M.Arch.
  • Exam mode: The OJEE exam will be an offline (pen and pencil based exam).
  • Medium: The OJEE exam will be in English.
  • Number of questions: There are 3 different sets - 60, 90 and 180.

OJEE 2018 Syllabus

  • OJEE Chemistry syllabus: The main topics are as follows General conduct of matter, Liquid State, Solutions, Gaseous State, Atoms and molecules, Structure of atoms and molecules, Chemical bonds, Periodic classification, etc.
  • OJEE Mathematics syllabus: The main topics are as follows Logic, Algebra of models, Number system, Determinants and matrices, Trigonometry, Co-ordinate geometry of two dimensions, etc.
  • OJEE Botany syllabus: The main topics are as follows Diversity of flora, Morphology of angiosperms, Taxonomy of flowering crops, Cell: Structure and efficiency, Continuity of life, Genetic supplies, etc.
  • OJEE Physics syllabus: The main topics are as follows Measurements and Motion, Heat & Thermodynamics, Characteristics of Materials, Liquids, Electricity & Magnetism, etc.

OJEE 2018 Results

  • Date: The OJEE result will be published on 31st May 2018 . The results will be available on the official website.
  • Details required to access the admit card: The candidate has to enter the registration number to access the results.
  • Mark sheet: There will be no mark sheet posted or emailed to any of the candidates.
  • Candidates are required to take a print out of the result copy for future use.
  • B.Tech Cut-off for General category candidates: The B.Tech cut-off for the General category candidates in various colleges across Orissa ranges from 49961 to 1245902.
  • B.Tech Cut-off for SC category candidates: The B.Tech cut-off for the SC category candidates in various colleges across Orissa ranges from 137276 to 591274.
  • B.Tech Cut-off for ST category candidates: The B.Tech cut-off for the ST category candidates in various colleges across Orissa ranges from 204302 to 1243987.
  • M.Tech Cut-off for General category candidates: The M.Tech cut-off for the General category candidates in various colleges across Orissa ranges from 37 to 5465.
  • M.Tech Cut-off for SC category candidates: The M.Tech cut-off for the SC category candidates in various colleges across Orissa ranges from 137 to 5148.
  • M.Tech Cut-off for ST category candidates: The M.Tech cut-off for the ST category candidates in various colleges across Orissa starts from 617.

OJEE 2018 Counselling

  • Date: The OJEE counselling process begins on 23rd June 2018 
  • Counselling fee: The counselling fee is Rs. 450.
  • Mode of payment: The OJEE counselling fee has to paid using debit/credit card or net banking.
  • Details: Candidates must register for the OJEE counselling process and choose their college. The candidates must attend the counselling at the specified center.
  • Procedure: Candidates have to produce all the originial documents. Once the documents have been verified the candidates must lock their seat and pay the fees. A temporary admission letter will be given.
  • Documents: The documents to be brought for the counselling process is the OJEE Admit Card, OJEE Result, Academic certificates, Copy of payment made challan/printed page, Passport photographs, Character certificate, Resident certificate and Income certificate.
