Application Form, Dates, Syllabus and Pattern for PESSAT 2018:

As a part of the PES University admissions process, PESSAT should be taken by all students who are applying for PES University programs.

PESSAT is an online entrance exam conducted at an All India level

Candidates can secure admissions into programmes such as Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech), Bachelor of Design (B.Des), Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), BBA in Hotel and Event Management, Master of Technology (M.Tech), Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Computer Applications (MCA) programmes for the academic session of 2018 by clearing PESSAT 2018.

PESSAT for engineering programs at PES University will be conducted at various test centres located all over the country. The exam for all other courses will be conducted only at PES University campus in Bangalore. The entrance exam for all other courses will begin in November 2017 and would continue until June 2018.

Candidates will be shortlisted for admissions in PES University on the basis of their test score as well as their performance in the personal interview round.

Candidates need to note that PESSAT 2018 would not be applicable for admissions at PESIT South Campus, PESIMSR & PES Central Campus.

PES Scholastic Aptitude Test (PESSAT) 2018 will be conducted in online mode across several states of India. PES University has made available application forms for PESSAT 2018 online from September 21, 2017. Candidates have to first register themselves by providing details related to the course, gender, date of birth, email ID, etc on the official website of PESSAT.

PESSAT 2018 Important Dates

  • The important dates for the B.Tech course are as follows: -
  • PESSAT registration date: The PESSAT registration process will begin on September 21st, 2017 and will end on April 12th, 2017 for the students from outside Bengaluru while the last date to register for the students in Bengaluru is April 17th, 2017.
  • PESSAT slot booking: The PESSAT slot booking will begin on April 21st, 2017.
  • PESSAT exam date: The PESSAT exam will be held in the first week of May 2017.
  • PESSAT result: The PESSAT result will be declared in the last week of May 2017.
  • PESSAT first round of counselling: The first round of counselling will be held in the month of June 2017.
  • PESSAT submission of documents: The original documents should be submitted by the first week of July 2017.
  • PESSAT second round of counselling: The second round of counselling will be held in the month of July 2017.
  • The important dates for the other courses are as follows: -
  • PESSAT registration date: The PESSAT registration process will begin on September 21st, 2016 and it ends in the month of July 2017.
  • PESSAT slot booking: The PESSAT slot booking will begin on January 5th, 2017.
  • PESSAT test date: The PES Scholastic Aptitude Test (PESSAT 2017) test will be from January 7th, 2017 to July 2017.
  • PESSAT results: The PESSAT results will be published in the 1st week after the test.

 

PESSAT 2018 Eligibility

  • Eligibility criteria regarding Under-graduate courses: To apply for the  BTech/BE (Biotechnology/ Civil Engineering/ Computer Science and Engineering/ Electronics and Communication Engineering/ Electrical and Electronics Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering) course the candidates have to score 60% in PCM in 12th standard or any equivalent. To apply for the B.Arch, BBA and BBA-HEM course the candidates have to pass their 10+2 examination from a recognised board.
  • Eligibility criteria for the Post-graduate courses: To apply for the M.Tech (Manufacturing Science and Engineering/ Computer Science and Engineering/ VLSI Design and Embedded Systems/ Digital Communication/ Automotive Technology/ Software Engineering/ Power Electronics/ Web Technology/ Cloud Computing and Big Data/ Internet of Things and Cyber-Physical Systems/ Signal Processing/ Smart Power Controls/ Machine Design/ Thermo-Fluids Engineering) course the candidates have to complete their 10+2+B.Tech/BE in the relevant branch. To apply for the MBA or MCA course the candidates have to complete their 10+2+graduation. To apply for the M.Sc. (Engineering) and PhD course the candidates have to complete their masters in the appropriate branches.

PESSAT 2018 Application Process

SUMMARY OF APPLICATION PROCESS:

  • Procedure: The candidates can obtain the application form from the official website. The candidates have to click on the registration link and then fill up the form. The candidate needs to pay the application fee and upload his/her photograph. Candidates need to take a print out of the form once it has been filled. If the candidate has paid the fees by way of a challan then the application form and the challan should be printed and taken to the bank for payment. A hard copy of the application along with a copy of the stamped challan should be submitted at the bank.
  • Application fee: The application fee can be paid online or offline. The application fee can be paid using debit card/credit card/net banking. For the online mode of payment, candidates are required to obtain a Demand draft from any nationalised bank.
  • Demand draft: A demand draft should be paid in favour of "PES University General Fund” payable at Bangalore. The application form and the DD should be sent to the following address: -

PESSAT 2018 Application Form Details

Summary of Application Form Details:

  • PART 1: The candidate is required to fill some personal details such as course, name, gender, email id etc. Once this is done, click on "Proceed" and then click on "Edit/Confirm" button. A personal details page will appear.
  • PART 2: The candidate is required to fill details such as category, mother tongue, citizenship, address etc. Once this is done, click on "Continue" to upload your photograph from the required path.
  • PART 3: You can choose to upload the photograph later by entering the registration number, date of birth and gender details. Click on the "Confirm" button to move to the payment gateway.
  • PART 4: The exam fee for PESSAT is INR 1050/- which can be paid using a credit/debit card or via net banking by following the instructions. The candidate can also choose to pay through a Demand Draft. In this case, the candidate must enter the DD number, Bank Name, Branch Name, Branch City Name and the DD date.
  • PART 5: Candidates who have already registered can take a print out of the application form by entering the registration number, date of birth and gender details. Candidates who have already registered can continue filling their application from the point at which they have previously stopped.

PESSAT 2018 Admit Card

  • Admit card date: The PESSAT admit card will be available in the month of April 2017 for the B.Tech program while the admit card will be available in the month of January for the other programs.
  • Procedure: The candidates have to visit the official website to download the admit card.
  • Details: The admit card has information about the candidate's name, photograph, roll number and signature of the candidate, etc.

 

PESSAT 2018 Exam Pattern

  • Mode: The test will be conducted in online mode.
  • Subjects: The test will include the following subjects namely Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English.
  • Number of questions: There will be 60 questions from Physics and Mathematics, 20 questions from English and 40 questions from Chemistry.
  • Type of questions: All the questions will be objective type questions.
  • Duration: The exam will be conducted for a duration of 3 hours.
  • Exam pattern: The exam will consist of English Comprehensive/Verbal Ability, Analytical & Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning and General Awareness.

 

 

PESSAT 2018 Syllabus

  • The topics are as follows:
  • English Comprehensive: The topics are Analogies & Syllogisms, Antonyms, Contextual usage, Fill In the Blanks, etc.
  • Analytical and Logical Reasoning: The topics are Arrangement, Blood Relations, Calendars, Critical Reasoning, etc.
  • Quantitative Reasoning: The topics are Arithmetic, Geometry, Number system, Percentages, etc.
  • General Knowledge: The candidates should read the news on a regular basis.

 

 

 

 

 

PESSAT 2018 Results

  • PESSAT result date: The PESSAT result will be declared by the last week of May 2017.
  • Procedure: The candidates have to visit the official website and enter their registration number and date of birth. The candidates will be able to see their scores and rank obtained.

PESSAT 2018 Counselling

  • Counselling date: The PESSAT counselling process will be conducted in the month of June 2017. The second round will be held in the month of July 2017.
  • Counselling rounds: The PESSAT counselling process will consist of two rounds.

  • The eligibility criteria for getting admission into PES University, formerly known as PESIT is that you have to pass the 12th board exam with a minimum of 60% in the stream of PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics). 
  • The students have to clear the PESSAT exam to get admission in this college.
  • On the basis of merit, one is given priority to get admission in this university.
  • Cutoff's for CSE, ISE are relatively lower compared to electronics, electrical, mechanical and civil engineering streams.

Eligibility Criteria and Admission Process:
  • Since the PES became a university in 2013, It does not takes students through the COMED-K exams anymore. PESSAT is the entrance exam setup for admissions.
  • Registrations for PESSAT can be done online, also a preferred date can be selected among the given slots. The test can be taken in one of the various test centers listed.
  • To be eligible for this examination, the student should have scored a 60% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in 12th STD or 2nd PUC or any other equivalent.
  • The procedure for online registrations usually happens sometime around April, and the results come out during the last week of May.
  • Selection of branch or counseling occurs in June and depends on your rank. There are two rounds of counseling and students should preferably attend both, if the desired branch is not available in the first.
  • The cut-off for the CSE course is 600 ranks and for ECE course 800 ranks are required.

The last date to register for students from outside Bengaluru is April 10, 2017, while students in Bengaluru can register until April 17, 2017.

The candidates who hail from bangalore can fill in their registrations for PESSAT till the 17th of April 2017, while the candidates coming in from other regions can fill their regitrations only till the 10th of April 2017.
