Eligibility criteria for Karnataka PGCET 2018

  • The eligibility criteria for PGCET 2018 is decided by the concerned authority. These are mandatory rules which the aspirants must satisfy before filling the application form for Karnataka PGCET 2018.
  • The candidates who do not satisfy the eligibility criteria for PGCET 2018 can be rejected at any stage of the admission process.
  • The candidates are advised to go through the Eligibility Criteria carefully before applying for Karnataka PGCET 2018. 
  • The candidates applying for Karnataka PGCET 2018 examination, for MCA, MBA, and M.E/ M.Tech/ M. Arch courses must satisfy the eligibility criteria that are given in the next section.

Eligibility criteria for full-time M.Tech/M.Arch courses:

  • Candidates seeking admission into the full-time M.Tech or M.Arch courses via Karnataka PGCET 2018 must have Completed a 3 year graduate degree after completion of 10+2, in architecture/engineering stream. The degree has to be a recognised by the government of Karnataka.
  • The aggregate marks required at graduation level for all candidates is 50 per cent to satisfy eligibility criteria.
  • For candidates of scheduled caste, scheduled tribe, other backward classes and physically handicapped categories; the requisite marks is set at 45 per cent to satisfy eligibility criteria.

Eligibility criteria for part-time M.Tech/M.Arch courses:

  • Candidates willing to seek admission into the part-time M.Tech/M.Arch courses via Karnataka PGCET 2018 must have completed a 3 year graduate degree after completion of 10+2, in architecture/engineering stream. The degree will have to be recognized by the state authority.
  • The marks required at graduation level for all candidates is 50 per cent to satisfy eligibility criteria.
  • For candidates of scheduled caste, scheduled tribe, other backward classes and physically handicapped categories. The requisite marks is set at 45% to satisfy eligibility criteria.
  • The candidate must be employed with an organization not farther than 40 kilometers from the college campus wherein he/she seeks admission. The total work experience must be at least 3 years as on 31st July 2016 to satisfy eligibility criteria.

Eligibility criteria for full-time MBA courses:

  • Candidates willing to seek admission into the full-time MBA courses via Karnataka PGCET 2018 must have completed a three-year graduate degree after completion of 10+2, in any stream.
  • The degree will have to be recognized by the state authority. The marks required at graduation level for all candidates is 50% to satisfy eligibility criteria.
  • For candidates of SC (scheduled caste), ST (scheduled tribe), OBC (other backward classes) and physically handicapped categories, the requisite marks is set at 45 per cent to satisfy eligibility criteria.

Eligibility criteria for part-time MBA courses:

Candidates willing to seek admission into the part time MBA courses via Karnataka PGCET 2018 must have:

  • Completed a three-year graduate degree after completion of 10+2, in any stream. The degree will have to be recognized by the state authority. The marks required at graduation level for all candidates is 50 per cent to satisfy eligibility criteria.
  • For candidates of scheduled caste, scheduled tribe, other backward classes and physically handicapped categories the requisite marks is set at 45 per cent to satisfy eligibility criteria.
  • The candidate must be employed with an organization not farther than 40 kilometers from the college campus wherein he/she seeks admission. The total work experience must be at least 3 years as on 31st July 2015 to satisfy the eligibility criteria for Karnataka PGCET 2018.

Eligibility criteria for MCA courses:

Candidates willing to seek admission into the MCA course via Karnataka PGCET 2018 must have:

  • Completed a three-year graduate degree after completion of 10+2, in any stream. The degree will have to be recognized by the state authority.
  • The marks required at graduation level for all candidates is 50 per cent. The candidate must have compulsorily studied Maths/Stats/Computer Science/Computer Applications/Business Maths, Computer Programming/Business Statistics as one of his/her optional subjects to satisfy eligibility criteria.
  • For candidates of scheduled caste, scheduled tribe, other backward classes and physically handicapped categories the requisite marks is set at 45 per cent to satisfy eligibility criteria.
