Eligibility criteria for Karnataka PGCET 2018

  • There are pre-announced eligibility criteria set by the University. These are obligatory norms which the aspirants must follow before filling the application form for Karnataka PGCET 2018.
  • If candidates eligibility does not fall under the pre-set terms and conditions for eligibility for Karnataka PGCET 2018 examination, their application form for Karnataka PGCET examination will be rejected.
  • The candidates are requested to go through the Eligibility Criteria carefully before applying for Karnataka PGCET 2018. 
  • The candidates applying for Karnataka PGCET 2018 examination, for MCA, MBA, and M.E/ M.Tech/ M. Arch courses must satisfy the following eligibility criteria:

Eligibility criteria for full-time M.Tech/M.Arch courses:

Candidates willing to seek admission into the full-time M.Tech/M.Arch courses via Karnataka PGCET 2018 must have:

  • Completed a three-year graduate degree after completion of 10+2, in architecture/engineering stream. The degree will have to be recognized by the state authority. The marks required at graduation level for all candidates is 50% to satisfy eligibilty criteria.
  • For candidates of scheduled caste, scheduled tribe, other backward classes and physically handicapped categories; the requisite marks is set at 45% to satisfy eligibilty criteria.

Eligibility criteria for part-time M.Tech/M.Arch courses:

Candidates willing to seek admission into the part-time M.Tech/M.Arch courses via Karnataka PGCET 2018 must have:

  • Completed a three-year graduate degree after completion of 10+2, in architecture/engineering stream. The degree will have to be recognized by the state authority. The marks required at graduation level for all candidates is 50% to satisfy eligibilty criteria.
  • For candidates of scheduled caste, scheduled tribe, other backward classes and physically handicapped categories; the requisite marks is set at 45% to satisfy eligibilty criteria.
  • The candidate must be employed with an organization not farther than 40 kilometers from the college campus wherein he/she seeks admission. The total work experience must be at least 3 years as on 31st July 2015 to satisfy eligibilty criteria.

The marks required at graduation level for all candidates is 50%. The candidate must have compulsorily studied  Maths/Stats/Computer Science/Computer Applications/Business Maths, Computer Programming/Business Statistics as one of his/her optional subjects to satisfy eligibilty criteria.
  • For candidates of scheduled caste, scheduled tribe, other backward classes and physically handicapped categories the requisite marks is set at 45% to satisfy eligibilty criteria.

The eligibility criteria for the part-time MBA course is as below: -

  • The candidates who have completed a three-year graduate degree after completion of 10+2, in any stream are eligible.
  • The degree has to be recognised by the state authority.
  • The candidates should have scored minimum 50 per cent marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC and physically handicapped candidates).
  • The candidates should be employed by an organisation not farther than 40 kilometres from the college campus wherein he/she seeks admission. The total work experience must be at least 3 years as on 31st July 2015.
