Group A posts:

Group D posts:

The recruitment of group D is carried by RRC. The posts included in group D are safaiwala, trackman, peon, the gunman, and tracker.

 

RRB NTPC 2018 Important Dates

Summary of Important Dates for IBPS RRB 2018:

The date of issuance of IBPS RRB 2018 official notification happens in December 2016. Candidates can submit their RRB Application Form from the 26th of December 2016 until the 25th of January 2018, after which the applications will not be accepted whatsoever. The Admit Card for the RRB 2018 examination will be issued in March 2018. The Examination of RRB 2018 will be held in April 2018 and the Results of  RRB 2018 examination will be out in May 2018.

RRB NTPC 2018 Eligibility

Summary of Eligibility for IBPS RRB 2018:

In order to apply for RRB 2018 examination, Candidate should be in the age group of 18-32years. Candidate should also have  Medical Clearance Certificates and a degree from a recognised University with the minimum marks obtained for qualification. Candidates should note that they are allowed to apply for any one RRB 2018 examination only, but can mention the order of preference for the selected examinations of different posts.

Candidate should have completed graduation from a recognised Board / University / Institute and have the result of the final examination available during the time of application. If a candidate has a degree from a non-recognised university/institute then he/she should then meet the following criteria to be eligible for applying:

  • Candidate should have completed 12 years of schooling through an Examination conducted by a Board / University.
  • Candidate should have passed an entrance test by the University to enroll for a 3 year degree program through distance / non-formal education and should not have been below 18 years of age as on 1st July of the year of admission to this course.
  • Typing Proficiency is required.

The applying candidate should also be eligible under the Medical Criteria for the respective posts. This includes the General Health and the Eyesight Criteria, failing which the candidate will not be eligible for writing the examination for RRB 2018.

RRB NTPC 2018 Application Process

Summary of Application Process for IBPS RRB 2018:

The Online Application for RRB 2018 examination starts from 26th of December 2018 until 25th January 2018 after which the online (www.indianrailways.gov.in) application portal closes. Candidates are requested to visit the website of RRB 2018 examination and start their online application process. Candidates should have the relevant documents before hand, which are required to be uploaded during the registration process. After filling up the appropriate details, the signature and photograph are uploaded. Candidates are then redirected to a payment gateway where the Candidate will have to pay the Application fee by using a Credit/Debit Card or Net Banking, the candidate can also complete the payment by using a Demand Draft or a Bank Challan.

Candidates are advised to take a printout of the acknowledgement for future reference. Also follow the instructions on your screen during the Application Process to obtain your registration number and password. Do note that there is no Interview after the written examination, However for a very few specific (Group A & B) categories there is a Viva, while for certain other categories there is a Skill Test (like typing test or stenography test) and for categories related to Operational Safety like Assistant Station Master, Assistant Loco Pilot, there will be an Aptitude Test.

RRB NTPC 2018 Application Form Details

Summary of Application Form Details for IBPS RRB 2018:

Candidates have to visit the official website (www.indianrailways.gov.in), navigate to the RRB 2018 examination and start by filling out the appropriate details in the Application Form. Candidates belonging to General & OBC categories must pay INR 100/- as application charges via any chosen payment method whereas candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ ExSm/ PWD/ Women/ Minorities/ Transgender & Economically Backward Classes having annual family income less than INR 50,000/- are exempted from paying the application fee.

RRB NTPC 2018 Admit Card

Summary of Admit Card for IBPS RRB 2018:

The Admit Card for RRB 2018 examination can be downloaded from the official website of RRB, candidates will be provided with the link, where the candidates have to provide the details about the application form to download the Admit Card. Candidates will have to provide the DOB, Registration Number, and Password.Candidates will be forwarded to a download link after successfully filling in the required details. The downloaded Admit Card will be in .pdf format, Candidates are advised to take a printout of the same before appearing to the RRB 2018 examination hall.

Along with the Admit Card candidates are instructed to carry a valid Photo ID for verification purposes and a passport size photograph with a clear front view of the Candidate.

RRB NTPC 2018 Exam Pattern

Summary of Exam Pattern for IBPS RRB 2018:

 The RRB 2018 examination paper is to check the Candidates ability to answer calculations and basic general knowledge. The written exam will be comprised of 100 or 120 questions based on General Awareness, Arithmetic, General Intelligence and Reasoning which have to be solved in 90-120 minutes. However do note that for every wrong answer given, 1/3rd marks will be deducted as per the negative marking scheme. Once the candidate(s) have successfully passed the written examination of RRB 2018 they will have to appear for a Computer Based Test (CBT) which is conducted during March - May 2018 through which the candidate's Computer Related Skills will be tested. After the candidate(s) have passed the CBT they will be called to prove their suitability for the Railway's non-technical categories. The Candidate's who satisfy the RRB board with both their Mental and Vocal abilities will be appointed by the Railway in various departments.

 

RRB NTPC 2018 Syllabus

Summary of Syllabus for IBPS RRB 2018:

The RRB 2018 Examination will consist of a written paper exam as one of the stages of the exam. The question paper will have 4 sections as follows:

  • Arithmetic Aptitude Test
  • General Intelligence and Reasoning
  • General Awareness
  • General Science

Candidates will have to prepare for the above-mentioned topics for the RRB 2018 Examination.

RRB NTPC 2018 Results

Summary of Results for IBPS RRB 2018:

The RRB 2018 board will announce the results of the examination after each stage of the exam. Candidates who appear for the written test initially will get their results withing two weeks of giving their exam's. The Candidate(s) who qualify the written exam will have to give the Computer Based Test (CBT) after the candidates have cleared the CBT, they will be called for an Interview through which they will be selected for the desired post in the Railway. After all the stages of the RRB 2018 Examination have commenced, the final results will be announced in the month of April or May 2018. 

RRB NTPC 2018 Counselling

Summary of Counselling for IBPS RRB 2018:

After the Candidates have completed their examination successfully, they will be called for further Counselling Process. Selection of candidates for the Non-Technical Popular Categories will be based on merit obtained in the common single stage CBT, however, the following mentioned processes are applicable for the respective posts the Candidate is applying for:

  • Document verification after online test - Commercial Apprentice, Traffic Apprentice Reservation Clerk, Goods Guard, ECR.
  • Typing Skill Test followed by Doc verification – Senior Time Keeper, Senior clerk & Junior accounts assistant.
  • Aptitude test & Doc verification - Assistant Station Master & Traffic Assistant

The Candidates Communicative Ability and various other aspects related to personality will be analysed by the RRB 2018 board. Candidates who successfully completed the Counselling Process will be appointed by the RRB board for the desired posts they have applied for.

The schedule of examination is published in the Local Newspapers of Zonal jurisdiction, Employment notice / Rojgar Samachar and on this Website. Railway Recruitment Board also sends call letters to the eligible candidates under UPC for the examination. The Call letters are sent to the candidates before 1 month of the scheduled date. However, RRB Mumbai is not responsible for any postal delay, wrong delivery or less in transit for RRB NTPC 2017

  1. For SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen and Physically Handicapped candidates, there is no application fee. For all others it is Rs.40/- (Rs. Forty) for the post having pay scale up to 3050 - 4590 and Rs 60/- (Rs. Sixty) for all the post having pay scale higher than 3050 - 4590. The application fee can be submitted in the form of IPO or Demand Draft. IPO/DD should not be of a date prior to the date of notification. The Demand Draft should be from a Scheduled Bank with a validity of not less than 6 months. Cash/ Money Order or any other form of fee is not acceptable. IPO / DD should be Drawn in favour of ASSISTANT SECRETARY, RAILWAY RECRUITMENT BOARD PAYABLE AT MUMBAI for RRB NTPC.
