The Siksha O Anusandhan University, Bhubaneswar is the conducting authority for Siksha O Anusandhan University Admission Test [SAAT] for admissions into their UG and PG programs in various disciplines like engineering, law, management, pharmacy etc.

The national level examination SAAT is conducted for applicants to the varied programs on offer by the institution, every year. The SAAT test is mainly aimed at those looking for admission into the engineering course of degree level in the University. The Siksha 'O' Anusandhan University is a private deemed University in Bhubaneswar, Odisha that is research-focused. This university is comprised of nine schools and colleges that have a degree-granting authority and also comes with a student body of more than 10,000. A number of  SOAU programs are accredited nationally for having met the set standards of quality. These include engineering, medicine, business, pharmacy, nursing, biotechnology, agriculture, science, humanities, nanotechnology, environment, materials science and law. The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) under Ministry of Human Resource Development ranked SOA University 16th.

The examination for SAAT 2018 will be held in May 2018. The application form will be released sometime in April 2018. SAAT is an objective multiple choice test that is conducted Online at different test centres across the nation. Candidates must check the eligibility Criteria before applying for SAAT 2018. SAAT 2018 Important Dates

Important dates:

  • Online Application Forms are available from 11th January 2018 
  • The last date for submitting the Application Forms by 12th April 2018 
  • The SAAT exam date is scheduled on 22nd April 2018 
  • The SAAT exam results is on 22nd May 2018 
  • The SAAT counselling for Options entry is said to be on 22nd May 2018 
  • The SAAT Mock Allotment i.e[Final Allotment] is said to be in the third week of June 2018.

SAAT 2018 Eligibility

SAAT 2018 Eligibility Criteria:

  • The candidates aspiring to apply for SAAT 2018 must have passed class XII/12th or equivalent exam with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and one of these subjects: Chemistry/Information Technology/Computer Science/Biotechnology/Informatics/Biology/Statistics or any other subject.

  • Lateral entry candidates need to secure a minimum of 60% aggregate score in their diploma.

  • The candidates appearing in XII/12th in 2018 are also eligible to apply provided they fulfil the eligibility criteria at the time of admission.

SAAT 2018 Application Process

The online process for SAAT:

  • Once the candidate is eligible to apply for SAAT 2018, he/she can access the Online form after it is released for SAAT.
  • Check the website www.soauniversity.sc.in for notifications about the same for SAAT.
  • The students will need to click on the Admission icon before the registration page opens for SAAT.
  • For registration for SAAT, the candidate will have to enter a password, contact details, religion, date of birth and full address.
  • An OTP or one-time password will be notified on the mobile number given.
  • Enter the same to land on the Application Form for SAAT 2018.
  • Additionally, the candidate will have to upload the latest copy of his/her photograph in passport size as well as the scanned signature and thumb impression for SAAT.
  • Upload a scanned photograph in colour and passport size.
  • Make sure all personal and academic details are clearly filled in for SAAT application form.
  • Proceed to Submit tab and submit the form for SAAT.

The offline process for SAAT:

You may also take a printout of the form of SAAT and fill the same physically.

  • Attach the completed form for SAAT.
  • Post the same to the university for SAAT.

SAAT 2018 Application Form Details

Application form details for SAAT:

  • SAAT online Application Form is available from 11th January 2018 .
  • The last date for submitting the online Applications and the uploading of scanned images in the SAAT official website is 12th April 2018 .d 
  • The Admit card for the SAAT 2018 must be downloaded from the official website on 21st April 2018 .
  • The SAAT pencil paper based exam i.e paper 1 and paper 2 is scheduled to be in the first week of May 2018 .

SAAT 2018 Admit Card

Admit card for SAAT 2018:

  • For SAAT 2018, the admit card is a compulsory document for the candidates appearing for this test.
  • The SAAT admit card will be made available to candidates who have registered online or sent the form offline to the University within the deadline.
  • The SAAT admit card will be available in two weeks prior to the examination.
  • Login to the website www.soauniversity.ac.in. to access SAAT Admit Card tab.
  • Write in the application number to access your SAAT admit card as a PDF file.
  • Take a printed version of the SAAT admit for use later and to show at the venue for the exam.
  • The SAAT admit will also be set via speed post about 10 days before the exam to SAAT 2018 candidates.

Important points regarding admit card for SAAT:

  • For all issues with the SAAT admit card, get in touch with the University authority.
  • Make sure you get in touch once you face any issues since the delay in complaining regarding the SAAT admit card will create delays.  
  • No candidate will be allowed to enter the exam hall without the SAAT admit card.
  • Carrying a valid ID proof to back the SAAT admit card is also mandatory.

SAAT 2018 Exam Pattern

SAAT 2018 Exam Pattern:

  • For the SAAT 2018 engineering entrance, the paper will be in English and will come in MCQ format.
  • The SAAT test will take place online.
  • The SAAT paper will come in three sections.
  • Physics will have 60 questions.
  • Chemistry will have 60 questions.
  • Maths will have 60 questions.

Important points regarding SAAT:

  • Each correct answer fetches the candidate 4 marks while every wrong answer sees the deduction of 1 mark for SAAT.
  • Candidates will not see the deduction of marks for any unattempted questions for SAAT.
  • The full marks for the paper are 480 and there is a 3-hour slot to complete the same for SAAT.
  • The timing needs to be adjusted via mock tests before the final exam date of the candidate in finishing the actual paper on time for SAAT.

SAAT 2018 Results

Results for SAAT 2018:

  • The result for SAAT 2018 will be available in the online mode under Result tab on www.soauniversity.ac.in.   
  • Expect the results around the third week of May in 2018.
  • Use your login details and roll number to access the result.
  • Candidates must enter their registration details to access the results.
  • The notification regarding result announcement will be made available on the website.
  • Take a printout of the result copy for reference.
  • Separate merit lists will be drawn up for General and Reserved quota candidates after the declaration of SAAT results.
  • The candidates will be called up for counselling once the merit list is prepared.

SAAT 2018 Counselling

The selected candidates will receive a rank card with call letter via speed post for the counselling session. The counselling process for admission begins after the merit list is displayed on the website. The University releases all lists on its website www.soauniversity.ac.in.

Eligibility Criteria and Admission Process:
  • The eligibility criteria for this course was 50%(Intaking Physics, Mathematics & one 4th optional from 12th).
  • I had scored satisfactory marks for the admission and I had scored 1791 All India Rank for SOAUAdmisssionTest(SAAT-2013). 
  • I get into Dual Degree because of several reasons but I'd like to pen down about few.
  • Right after getting into this college, I felt about the advance teaching programs & student involvement in course structure. 
  • However, we hadn't notified about the MBA part and later we were informed after completion of the 3rd year. 
  • Professors of this college are highly approachable & friendly. The aura of teaching thrilled me as I was from a different background from my school level.
