Eligibility Criteria for SHIATS 2017:

50 per cent seats in the institute are reserved for Christian candidates only. General and reserved quota candidates are allowed to fill in applications for remaining 50 per cent of the total seats.

15 per cent UG seats and 25 per cent PG seats for courses at SHIAT will be available for candidates sitting for the ICAR-conducted all-India entrance examination as well.

Candidates deemed eligible for SHIAT-EE for undergraduate courses will have to be:

  • 10+2 qualified from a recognized board, with 50 per cent marks in any stream as per the eligibility criteria.
  • The Institute has reserved quotas for scheduled caste, scheduled tribe, other backward classes and physically handicapped candidates. For all these candidates, the eligible cut-off for application is set at 45 per cent at 10+2 level.
  • Candidates appearing in the 10+2 examination too are eligible to appear for SHIAT EE 2017. However, all documentary evidence of the same must be furnished at the time of counselling.

Candidates deemed eligible for SHIAT-EE for postgraduate courses will have to be:

  • Graduates with a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university with atleast 50 per cent marks in the relevant discipline.
  • The Institute has reserved quotas for scheduled caste, scheduled tribe, other backward classes and physically handicapped candidates. For all these candidates, the eligibility cut-off for application is set at 45 per cent.
  • Candidates appearing in the final year of their graduation examination too are eligible to appear for SHIAT EE 2016. However, all documentary proof of the same must be furnished at the time of counselling.

B.Ed Eligibility criteria:

Candidates having 50 per cent marks in the bachelor’s or master’s degree with two school subjects part of their graduation study are deemed eligible.

Every candidate will have to teach 20 lessons/2 years teaching experience in any two subjects given below:

M.Ed Eligibility criteria:

The candidate must have a B.Ed degree with 55 per cent marks in the same.

B.PEd Eligibility criteria:

Candidate must be a graduate in any stream with physical education as an elective. He/she must have scored 45 per cent in the same.

He/she must have participated in the all-India inter-university competition.

The eligibility criteria for the undergraduate course is as follows: -

  • The candidates should have passed their 10+2 examination from a recognised board, with 50 per cent marks in any stream.
  • The candidates who belong to the reserved categories should have passed their 10+2 examination from a recognised board, with 45 per cent marks.
  • Candidates appearing for their 10+2 examination are eligible to appear for the exam. 
  • Documentary evidence of the same is to be furnished.
