Eligibility Criteria for UPSC CSAT 2018

  • Candidates applying should be citizens of India for the Indian Administrative Service and the Indian Police Service to satisfy the eligibility criteria for UPSC CSAT 2018
  • Candidates applying should not age less than 21 years and not more than 32 years to satisfy the eligibility criteria for UPSC CSAT 2018.
  • In the case of candidates belonging to SC/ST category, the upper age limit is relaxable up to five years.
  • In case of OBC candidates, the upper age limit is relaxable up to three years.

Educational Qualification: 

  • A candidate must be a graduate from a recognised university or a deemed university to satisfy the eligibility criteria for UPSC CSAT 2018.
  • A candidate who has appeared for the final year of bachelor's degree and awaiting the result, along with candidates who intend to appear at such qualifying examinations can also apply for UPSC CSAT 2018, provided that they submit their proof of qualification along with the Application Form for the Mains exam.
  • A candidate who possesses professional and technical qualification recognised by Government equivalent to the professional and technical degree is also eligible to apply for UPSC CSAT 2018.
  • A candidate who has passed the final professional M.B.B.S. or any other Medical Examination but has not completed internship by the time of submission of the Application for the Civil Services (Main) Examination is also eligible to apply for UPSC CSAT 2018.

Number of Attempts:

  • Candidates can apply to a maximum of 6 times for CSAT.
  • The candidates belonging to OBC category can apply for a total of nine times.
  • This restriction on the number of attempts will not apply in the case of Scheduled Caste and Schedule Tribe candidates.
