Eligibility criteria for VITEEE 2018

  • The eligible applicant for VITEEE 2018 must be born on or after 1st July 1996.
  • To be eligible for VITEEE 2018, one must have cleared 12th standard (compulsory subject being math and an optional subject being biology).
  • VITEEE 2018 is also open for NIOS.
  • All VIT eligible students must have studied either regular type of education or full-time education and not part-time otherwise the entire application is discarded, overruling eligibility.
  • Even when the eligibility criteria for VITEEE 2018 are met with, the applicant aspiring to acquire a seat at VIT can only get one course out of the 18 available course at VITEEE 2018. 
  • If the VIT applicant has also taken up biology in his schooling, he is eligible to apply for any of the 3 biology courses at VITEEE - Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, Biomedical Genetics and Applied Microbiology.
  • The eligibility for courses like Architecture, Advanced Sciences, Civil and Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Information Technology & Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Social Sciences&Languages, Business School and Law School varies according to their departmental needs.
  • Depending on the eligibility criteria laid by VITEEE 2018 and subject is chosen, the applicant can take up respective courses at VITEEE once he gets to the application procedure
  • For VIT Law School, the chances of admission will be boosted if there is any relevant work experiences along with the satisfaction of all the conditions of the eligibility criteria.
  • Applicants aiming to join VIT Law School should necessarily appear for CAT/XAT/MAT/GMAT/CMAT and these scores should be made available to the official VIT administrative office before the deadline to be made eligible for admission in VIT.
  • The candidates for VITEEE 2018 must have cleared intermediate with minimum 60% marks from a well-known education board that is CBSE, ICSE or any other recognized board to be eligible.
  • The candidates belonging to the SC/ST sections or the North Eastern states need to have an aggregate score of 50% to be eligible.
  • Once the application process for VITEEE 2018 is cleared, the student has to wait till VITEEE 2018 results are announced. The cutoff for VITEEE 2018 changes every year but according to the statistics, the eligibility for VITEEE 2018 first round counseling ends at 20,000. 
  • Candidates who have not appeared for the VITEEE are not eligible for admission.
  • Since the competition is very high, it is often tough to get a seat in VIT even when your VITEEE went really well. It is advised that candidates wait for the final round of counseling before they change their mind because a lot of eligible candidates usually leave the seat empty.

The eligibility criteria for VITEEE 2017 is given below:

  • Candidates whose date of birth falls on or after 1st July 1995 are eligible to apply for VITEEE-2017
  • Candidates appearing for the VITEEE in 2017 should have secured an aggregate of 60% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology in the qualifying examination (+2/Intermediate).
  • The average marks obtained in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology (PCM / PCB) in + 2 (or its equivalent) put together should be 50% for the SC/ST & North Eastern State.
  • Candidates who have studied in Regular, Full Time and Formal Education are alone eligible to apply.
  • 'NIOS' candidates are eligible to appear for the VITEEE-2017.

The candidates must have cleared intermediate with minimum 60% marks from a well-known education board that is CBSE, ICSE or any other recognized board to be eligible. The candidate is not eligible because he has scored 55% in his intermediate exam.
