Eligibility Criteria for AU AIMEE Pharmacy 2018

Only those candidates who fulfil the eligibility criteria of AU AIMEE Pharmacy 2018 can apply for the test. In case any candidate fails to fulfil the criteria, he/she will not be allowed to write the exam.

The eligibility criteria for AU AIMEE 2018 for different programmes are explained below:

B.Pharm:

  • The candidate must be a citizen of India.
  • He/she must be of 17 years on or before 31st December 2018.
  • The candidate must have passed in all the subjects in class 10th and 12th with a valid score.
  • The mandatory subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology or Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Mathematics) with any other subject should be passed with a valid score.
  • For OC/BC/BCM/MBC/DNC candidates, a minimum eligibility is of 35% marks individually in all subjects and an aggregate of minimum 40% marks should be obtained.
  • For SC / SCA / ST candidates, the minimum eligibility is of 35% marks individually in all subjects and an aggregate of minimum 35% marks should be obtained.
  • A minimum of 35% marks in English should be obtained.
  • Candidates who belong to Tamil Nadu and have passed Class VIII, IX, X, XI and XII from Tamil Nadu can apply without providing the "Nativity Certificate" to satisfy the eligibility condition.
  • In the case of candidates who have passed Class VIII, IX, X, XI and XII from schools situated outside Tamil Nadu, a Nativity Certificate is mandatory to cover-up the eligibility criteria.
  • Candidates, whose parents are employees of Central Government can apply without any nativity certificate, provided their parents or guardians (if neither parent is alive) have been serving in Tamil Nadu for the past 5 years at the time of application submission.
  • Candidates who have studied Class VIII, IX, X, XI and XII in Tamil Nadu but belong to other states can also apply without enclosing the "Nativity Certificate" to fulfil the eligibility criteria.
  • Children of employees in Public Sector or Government recognized Institutions who have been employed in Tamil Nadu for the past five years at the time of the submission of application can also apply, regardless of their domicile.

B. Pharm (Lateral Entry):

  • The candidate must be a citizen of India.
  • He/ She must be 17 years of age.
  • The candidate must be a diploma holder in Pharmacy (D. Pharm) from Annamalai University or an equivalent recognized university.
  • The candidate must have secured an aggregate of minimum 50% marks in first and second-year examinations of D. Pharm.
  • Foreign nationals are eligible to apply, provided they should be registered under section 7A of the Citizenship Act 1955 (Central Act 57 of 1955).

D. Pharm:

  • The candidate must be a citizen of India.
  • The candidate must be 17 years of age on or before 31st December 2018.
  • Foreign nationals are eligible to apply, provided they should be registered under section 7A of the Citizenship Act 1955 (Central Act 57 of 1955).
  • The candidate must have passed class12th with Physics and Chemistry, along with Biology (or) Botany and Zoology (or) Mathematics.
  • Candidates with a B.Sc. Degree with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology / Mathematics are also eligible.

M. Pharm:

  • Must have a degree from Annamalai University or an equivalent university in B. Pharm with minimum 50% marks.
  • Belonging to SC/SCA/ST category can only have passing marks in B. Pharm course.
  • Must be 17 years of age on or before 31st December 2018.
  • Must have passed class 12th with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects and Mathematics or Biology or Botany and Zoology as optional.
  • Those candidates who have qualified D. Pharm from a Pharmacy Council of India approved institution are also eligible.
  • Those candidates who belong to other states (apart from Tamil Nadu) can apply under open competition, which means they will be given privilege only after the seats get filled by the Tamil Nadu candidates.
