Eligibility Criteria for BITSAT 2018

  • Candidates who are willing to appear for BITSAT 2018 must satisfy certain eligibility criteria, laid by the BITS university.
  • All the applicants must go through the eligibility criteria so as to get know whether the candidate is eligible/not-eligible for BITS 2018. If any candidate does not satisfy any of the eligibility criteria's, he/she won't be given admission to BITS institutes.  
  • All the eligibility criteria's laid by BITS Institute are mentioned below.
Eligibility Criteria for admission to B.E, MSc Candidates should have passed the 12th examination of 10+2 system from a recognized
Central or State board or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics
and adequate proficiency in English.
Eligibility Criteria for admission to B.Pharm Candidates should have passed the 12th examination of 10+2 system from a recognized Central or State board or its
equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology and adequate proficiency in
English. However, candidates with PCM may also apply for Pharmacy program.
  • Any candidate applying for BITSAT 2018 should have obtained a minimum of aggregate 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects (if he/she has taken Mathematics in BITSAT) in 12th examination.
  • Any candidate applying for BITSAT 2018 should have obtained a minimum of aggregate 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects (if he/she has taken Biology in BITSAT) in 12th examination.
  • With at least 60% marks in each of the Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/ Biology subjects.
  • Only Students who are appearing for 12th examination in 2017 or who have passed 12th Examination in 2016 are eligible to appear in the BITSAT- 2018 test.
  • If a candidate has taken more than one attempt in 12th class or its equivalent, only his latest performance is considered, provided this attempt has been for the full component of subjects/courses prescribed.
  • Students who have passed the 12th examination in 2016 or earlier are not eligible to appear in BITSAT- 2018.
  • Admissions will be made purely on merit. The merit position of the candidate for admission will be based on the score obtained by the candidate in the BITSAT 2018.

Board Toppers get Direct Admission:

  • BITS has always ensured guaranteed admission to all the students who obtained first ranks in their respective board examinations.
  • First rank students of all the central and state boards in India for the 2018 will be given direct admission to the program of their choice, irrespective of their BITSAT 2018 score as per the eligibility criteria mentioned above.
  • Further details about this scheme will be available at BITS admission website.

 Important notes:

  • The admission process is based on the merit list only i.e BITSAT 2018 is a purely merit-based examination and has 0% reservation.
  • Students who appeared for the supplementary in their 12th are eligible to appear for BITSAT 2018 only if the attempt has been for all the prescribed subjects. Students who are currently studying in any of the BITS colleges are not eligible to appear for the test.
  • Candidates who satisfy the eligibility criteria can fill the BITSAT 2018 Application Form.
  • The eligibility criteria require the candidates to be in between 21 to 25 years of age as on 1st October 2018.
  • Candidates will be selected only on the basis of merit in the BITSAT 2018 but the eligibility for admission is subject to fulfillment of the conditions regarding the 12th marks.
  • Candidates who get 1st rank get direct admission, provided they produce proof of getting the first rank.

Overview of Eligibility Criteria for BITSAT 2018: 

Age
You are required to be between 21 to 25 years of age as on 1st October 2018.
Educational Qualification
You are required to have a minimum of aggregate 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology (whichever you've taken in BITSAT) or should have passed the 12th exam of 10+2 system from a recognized central or state board.
Domicile / Reservation
BITSAT 2018 is a purely merit-based examination and has 0% reservation.
Exceptions
First rank students of all the central and state boards in India for 2018 will be given direct admission to the program of their choice.

BITSAT 2017 Eligibility is:

  • Candidates should have passed their 10+2 examination with a minimum of 75% marks from any recognised board.
  • Eligibility Criteria for B.E. (Hons.) and M.Sc. (Tech.): Candidates should have passed their 12th standard examination from the Central or State Board. Candidates must have passed Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry in Class 12 and scored an aggregate of 75% in these subjects. Candidates should have secured minimum 60% marks in each subject mentioned above. Candidates need to be proficient in English.
  • Eligibility Criteria for B.Pharm (Hons.): Candidates should have passed their 12th standard examination from the Central or State Board. Candidates must have passed Biology, Physics and Chemistry in Class 12 and scored an aggregate of 75% in these subjects. Candidates should have secured minimum 60% marks in each subject mentioned above. Students with physics, chemistry and mathematics are also eligible to apply for this course.
  • Age Limit:Candidates have to be between 21 to 25 years as on October 1st, 2017.
  • Merit: Candidates will be selected only on the basis of merit.
  • Direct admission: Candidates who have secured the 1st rank get direct admission provided they produce proof.
  • Eligibility regarding supplementary examination: Students who appeared for the supplementary examination in their 12th are eligible to appear for BITSAT only if the attempt has been for all the prescribed subjects.
  • Eligibility regarding students who are part of BITS: Students who are currently studying in any of the BITS colleges are not eligible to appear for the test.

Candidates can write BITSAT 2017 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology in 10+2.

However, they will be eligible to apply only for the B. Pharm program. They will not be eligible for any other first-degree program by BITS .

  • If you are repeating 12th exam, you should do it for the all the subjects as required by the board to pass 12th again.
  • If you take improvement exams in PCM/PCB only, you are not eligible.

  • BITSAT is just an exam which serves to state that you have proved yourself worthy of being a part of BITS. Your admission still depends on your personal abilities to crack the interview rounds conducted by BITS themselves.
