The Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED 2018) aims to assess the candidate’s aptitude for design. There are various aspects under CEED 2018 that include drawing skills, logical reasoning, creativity, communication, problem-solving skills etc. CEED is annually conducted by IIT Bombay as a qualifying examination for eligible students to obtain admission to Master of Design (MDes) programs and Ph.D. programs at the following colleges:
After qualifying in CEED, other tests/interviews may be further conducted for the final selection and admission. These institutes will also verify all the certificates and documents submitted by the candidate in the CEED 2017 application form. An eligible applicant can give any number of attempts for CEED exam. Note that the validity of the CEED score is for one year from the date of result declaration.
Application Registration Date:
The applications for CEED 2018 can be submitted from the 17th of October until the 11th of November 2018.
Application Registration with Late Fee:
Submission of late applications between 12-18th of November 2018.
Admit Card Availability:
The admit card can be downloaded from the CEED 2018 website on the 22nd of January 2018.
Last Date to Rectify Discrepancies:
By the 9th of January 2018.
Examination of CEED 2018:
The Examination for CEED 2018 will commence on the 22nd of January 2018.
Availability of Results:
The Results for CEED 2018 will be available on the 15th of March 2018.
Obtaining the CEED 2018 application:
The CEED 2018 applications can be obtained only online. Candidates will have to visit the official website for CEED 2018 and fill the required details.
Application Form to CEED:
Candidates will have to fill in the important details required in the application form, Upload the required documents (photo, signature, certificates for a degree, diploma, experience, category etc) for CEED 2018 application.
The payment for the Application Form of CEED 2018 can be done online using Credit/Debit Card or Net Banking.

Availing the Admit Card:
The candidates who have applied for CEED 2018 can avail the admit card from the CEED 2018 website from the 26th of December 2017 until the 21st of January 2018. Candidates should note that the CEED 2018 admit card will not be sent via post.
Details on the Admit Card:
The CEED 2018 Admit Card contains all personal details including the photo of the candidate.
Admit Card to CEED 2018:
Without the CEED 2018 admit card, an applicant is not allowed to enter the CEED 2018 examination hall. An applicant can download the admit card from the official website of CEED. It is advised that the applicant must take a printout of the CEED 2018 admit card and must preserve it carefully and later present it at the time of the exam. Also, note that the CEED 2018 admit card must be printed in color with details clearly visible. Note that the applicant must bring a valid photo ID proof along with the admit card to the CEED 2018 exam center, without which they will not be permitted.
Mode of CEED Exam:
The CEED 2018 consists of two parts, Part A and Part B. Where the former is a CBT and the latter is a pen-paper based exam.
Duration of Exam:
01 hours allotted.
Marking Scheme for CEED Exam:
Each correct answer is marked positively, however, there is no negative marking for CEED 2018.
CEED Exam Paper:
The examination paper consists of 4 sections, First section Numerical Answer Type (NAT) consisting of 10 questions. The Second section Multiple Select Questions (MSQ) containing 10 questions and the Third section Multiple Choice Questions(MCQ) consisting. The total marks allotted for the CEED 2018 examination are 100.
CEED 2018 Examination Type:
CEED is conducted in two sections, where Part A is computer based and Part B is pen and paper based.

Shortlisted candidates will be able to check their counselling dates on the official website of CEED 2018 on the 15th of March 2018. Candidates having cleared CEED 2018 will have to appear for Design Aptitude Test Screening. Further shortlisted candidates will have to attend a personal interview and can then select their desired course and institutes.
Only applicants who clear the Part-A of CEED 2018 are entitled to be evaluated for Part-B. Results and merit list for CEED 2018 will be announced only on the basis of evaluation of Part-B. CEED counselling will be conducted only after CEED 2018 results are announced. The counselling is done for applicants who have cleared the CEED 2018 exam and are called for counselling on the basis of the performance in Part-B. Courses available according to performance will be published.
Documents to carry for Counselling Process:
Candidates are required to bring their original documents, CEED admit-card and certificates during counselling. If the applicants fail to bring the required documents and certificates for counselling, they will not be eligible for admission.
