About: The Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED 2018) is annually conducted by IIT Bombay as a qualifying examination for eligible students to obtain admission to Master of Design (MDes) programs and PhD programs for certain colleges.
Grandiosity: It is a qualifying examination for admission for Design programmes at IIS Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIITDM Jabalpur, and IIT Kanpur, and to PhD programmes in Design at IISc Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, and IIT Kanpur.
Courses: The courses offered through CEED 2018 are M.Des and PhD.
Level: CEED 2018 is a National Level Entrance Exam which has its Exam Center in major Cities of India.
Frequency: The CEED examination will be conducted once a year which has two parts. Part A is a computer-based screening test. Part B evaluates drawing, creativity, communication skills and analytical and problem-solving skills.
Authority: IIT Bombay has the complete rights for conducting CEED 2018 examination and to decide about modalities of admissions and allotment of seats.

Application Form: The CEED 2018 application forms will be available from 9th October 2017 to 10th November 2017. So that candidate can fill in their official websites.
Examination: After the registration of CEED 2018 the admit card will be provided.

Qualification: Applicant must have completed Bachelor’s degree or 4 years professional program or Master’s degree in Arts or Science or Computer Applications for applying for CEED 2018.
Eligibility: Applicant who has completed 21 years of age can attend the CEED 2018 exam.

Schedules: The application form of CEED 2018 will be available from the Official website in both online and offline mode.
Fee: The payment for the application Form of CEED 2018 can be done online using Credit/Debit Card or Net Banking.
Questions: There will be a total of 50 questions to attempt in Part A and this section carries a total of 100 marks.The Part B section will be a Pen and Paper based exam and the total marks for Part B carry 100 marks in CEED 2018.
Duration: The time duration of CEED 2018 exam is totally 3 hours(Part A- 1 hour + Part B- 2 hours).

Part A: It shows the visualization and spatial ability, environmental and social awareness, analytical and logical reasoning, language and creativity, observation and design sensitivity.

Application Registration Date: The applications for CEED 2018 can be submitted from the 9th October 2017 until 10th November 2017
Application Registration with Late Fee: Submission of late applications between 9th October 2017 to 10th November 2017 .
Admit Card Availability: The admit card can be downloaded from the CEED 2018 website on the 25th December 2017.
Examination of CEED 2018: The Examination for CEED 2018 will commence on the 20th January 2018 to 20th January 2018.

Obtaining the CEED 2018 application: The CEED 2018 applications can be obtained only online. Candidates will have to visit the official website for CEED 2018 and fill the required details.

Documents Required for CEED 2018 Application:
Recent color photograph in JPG file format
Scanned copy of signature in JPG file format
Candidates applying for CEED 2018 in SC/ST/OBC NCL category must produce valid certificates issued by the concerned authorities in PDF file.
PWD medical certificate.
Scanned copy of degree/diploma certificates in PDF format. If the course is not completed, the candidate must produce a proof certificate from Head of Department or Principal of the college.
Important points to note for CEED 2018:
There will be a rejection of CEED 2018 application forms due to the poor quality of uploads in the forms.
The merit list (ranks) for CEED will be put up according to category mentioned by the applicant. It must be ensured that category certificate is uploaded along with the CEED 2018 application form.
The candidate may be rejected if the information given in the CEED 2018 application by the candidate is invalid or incomplete.
Candidate must verify all personal and contact details, and qualifying exam before final submission of CEED 2018 application form as they will be printed on the admit card.

An applicant can download the admit card from the official website of CEED.
The CEED 2018 Admit Card contains all personal details including the photo of the candidate.
Without the CEED admit card, an applicant is not allowed to enter the CEED 2018 examination hall.
Admit Card to CEED 2018:
The applicant is advised that CEED 2018 admit card must take a printout and must preserve it carefully and later present it at the time of writing exams.
Note that the CEED 2018 admit card must be printed in color with details clearly visible.
And also the applicant must bring a valid photo ID proof along with the admit card to the CEED 2018 exam center, without which they will not be permitted.
Exam Mode of CEED Exam:
The CEED 2018 consists of two parts, Part A where it is a CBT(Computer-based) and Part B where it is a pen-paper based exam.
Duration of Exam: The time allowed for Part A is 01 hour.
CEED 2018 Exam Marking Scheme: There is no negative marking for CEED 2018, Each correct answer is marked positively.
CEED 2018 Exam Paper: The Part A examination paper consists of 3 sections,
Section one is Numerical Answer Type (NAT) which consists of 10 questions.
Section two contains Multiple Select Questions (MSQ) which consists of 10 questions.
Section Three contains Multiple Choice Questions(MCQ) which consists of 30 questions.
The total marks for Part A examination are 100.
CEED is conducted in two sections, where Part A is computer-based and Part B is pen and paper-based.
Syllabus for Part A of CEED 2018:
Visualisation and Special Ability: Understand the partial aspects and their relationships to understand and transform the needs.
Environmental & Social Awareness: Have a general awareness and a cultural connection with the environment.
Analytical & Logical Reasoning: To analysis the given problem and to deliver a simple solution for the given aspect.
Language & Creativity: Understand the message and deliver a new idea regarding the options given.
Observation and Design Sensitivity: Check on the day to day environment and assign a different solutions to aspects.
Drawing: Ability to draw products, people or scenes in proportion with good line quality, composition, proportion, perspective, and shading.
Creativity: To think out of what has given and come up with unique and diverse solutions.
Communication Skills: To communicate new ideas and aspects.
Availability of CEED 2018 Results: The results of the CEED 2018 exam will be published on the CEED website on 5th March 2018.
The authority will not send a hard copy of the CEED 2018 score card.
Information provided by the candidates in the CEED 2018 application form will be shared with concerned institutes and used for future reference.
Obtaining CEED 2018 Result: The applicants can view their result on the official website of CEED.
They are advised to take a color print out of the CEED 2018 scorecard for future reference.
The CEED 2018 results are declared after assessing the scores of both Part A and Part B of CEED and becomes available for download in PDF format.
Shortlisted candidates will be able to check their counselling dates on the official website of CEED 2018 on the 5th March 2018.
Candidates having cleared CEED 2018 will have to appear for Design Aptitude Test Screening.
Further shortlisted candidates will have to attend a personal interview and can then select their desired course and institutes.
Documents to carry for Counselling Process:
Candidates are required to bring their original documents, CEED admit-card, and certificates during counselling.
If the applicants fail to bring the required documents and certificates for counselling, they will not be eligible for admission.
There is no age limit and a candidate can appear in CEED any number of times.
