Application Form, Dates, Syllabus and Pattern of CTET 2018:

The Central Teacher Eligibility Test is conducted by both Central government and State governments in India.Most states conduct their own CTET. The test is conducted in order fulfil and achieve the goals of the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act. CTET was introduced by the Government of India in order to improve standards in teaching. The exam is based on National Curriculum Framework. All graduates, including B.A, B.Sc, B.Com etc. are eligible to take the test. All B. Ed. graduates need to pass this exam to work as a teacher. A candidate has to score over 60 percent to clear the eligibility test. The National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) maintains the database. CBSE conducts CTET twice in a year.Teacher Eligibility Test known as CTET is an Indian entrance examination for teachers.The test is mandatory for getting teaching jobs in government schools from Class 1 to Class 8.

The CTET 2018 Exam has two papers:

  • Paper 1 is meant for teachers opting for Class 1 to Class 5.
  • Paper 2 is meant for teachers opting for Class 6 to Class 8.

Both papers exam will be held on the same day, Paper 2 will be held in the morning session and duration of the exam is 2.30hours and Paper 1 will be held in the evening session and the duration of the exam is 2.30 hours.

Note: Candidates who are opting for both levels(i.e Class 1 to Class 5 and Class 6 to Class 8) has to write both the Papers.

Objectives of CTET

  • It would bring national standards and benchmark of teacher quality in the recruitment process;
  • It would induce teacher education institutions and students from these institutions to further improve their performance standards;
  • It would send a positive signal to all stakeholders that the Government lays special emphasis on teacher quality

 Important Points For CTET 2018 

  • Applicants can apply to CTET 2018 ONLINE from the CTET official website www.ctet.nic.in from 22nd June 2018 to 18th July 2018.
  • Applicants can apply to CTET only through ONLINE mode and no other mode of application is acceptable.
  • Applicants are requested to keep their photograph and signatures scanned and ready before applying.
  • Applicants have to carefully check the CTET eligibility criteria and satisfy before applying.

  • Payment of application can be done through e-challan by depositing the application fee in CTET Exam fee account with Syndicate Bank or Canara Bank/ through debit card/credit card.
  • The last date to pay the application fees is 19/07/2018(before 3.30pm).
  • Once all the details have been filled in the CTET application form and fees has been paid, the candidates cannot change the details. Candidates have the option to change between 20/07/2018 to 25/07/2018.
  • Candidates can download the CTET admit card from the official website from 17th August 2017. To know more important CTET Exam related dates click here.
