  • About: Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) is a self-governing university. It has 3 campuses: two in Kochi district and one in Kuttanad, Alappuzha District of Kerala in India.

  • Conducting Authority: Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) conducts the Common Admission Test (CAT), Lateral Entry Test (LET), Department Admission Test (DAT), Group Discussion and Interview (if applicable) for admission to its various programmes.

CUSAT CAT 2018 News:

  • Admit Card: Cochin University of Science and Technology has released the hall tickets for CUSAT CAT 2018. The admit cards can be downloaded from the official website till 16th April 2018.

  • Exam Centre: The Last date for opting the CUSAT CAT 2018 exam centre is 14 March 2018.

  • New Courses: The Cochin University has started 4 new courses starting from this academic year (2018). The courses are M.Sc Subject Integrated programmes, M.Sc Microbiology, M.Tech Marine genomics and B.Voc Business Process and Data Analytics.

  • CUSAT CAT 2018 Application Form Released: Cochin University of Science & Technology (CUSAT) has released the online application form for Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes.

  • Exam Date Announced: The CUSAT CAT 2018 exam will be held on 28th and 29th April 2018, announced officially by the Authority.


CUSAT CAT 2018 Important Dates: 

  • Application Form: CUSAT CAT 2018 application form will be available from 7th February 2018. Candidates can complete the application process before the deadline on 28th February 2018. 

  • Admit Card: The CUSAT CAT 2018 Admit Card will be made available on the official website of CUSAT from 16th April 2018.

CUSAT CAT 2018 Eligibility Criteria:

  • Age Limit: The applicants must have completed 17 years of age on or before 31st December 2018 to satisfy the eligibility to write the exam for CUSAT CAT 2018 for undergraduate courses offered through Cochin University of Science & Technology (CUSAT). 

  • Qualification: Among the key eligibility criteria includes, candidates must have passed 10+2 from a recognized board or its equivalent, with minimum 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics for undergraduate courses.

CUSAT CAT 2018 Application Form:

  • Details: Candidates need to fill their personal details, academics qualification details, address and communication details. Candidates will be required to upload the scanned images of their photograph, signature and left-hand thumb impression in the CUSAT CAT 2018 application form.

  • Payment: The candidates have to pay the CUSAT CAT 2018 application form fees through online, the application fee is INR 1000/- for general category candidates and for SC/ST Category Candidates it is INR 600/-.

CUSAT CAT 2018 Paper Analysis:

Paper Analysis of CUSAT CAT 2016:

  • Overall Difficulty level: The candidates who wrote CUSAT CAT 2016 felt that the overall difficulty level of the examination was Moderate.

  • Paperwise difficulty: Candidates felt, while Chemistry and Physics were moderate, the Mathematics Paper was quite difficult to answer. But none of the questions asked in the exam was out of the syllabus.

  • Time limit problem: Candidates felt difficult to complete the Mathematics Paper in the given time compared Other Papers.

CUSATCAT 2018 Important Dates

  • Availability of application form: Online registration for CUSAT CAT, LET and PG programmes which include M.Tech and MBA programmes will start from 7th February 2018 
  • Admit card availability: The CUSAT Admit card Download Date (only for CAT/LET) will be 16th April 2018.

CUSATCAT 2018 Eligibility

  • Nationality: Candidates of any nationality can apply for the CUSAT CAT.

  • Reserved Categories: candidates from Kerala schedule tribe (KST) and Kerala scheduled cast (KSC) community candidates are eligible for minimum eligibility criteria.

  • Relaxation of marks: Candidates with different category will be having different marks relaxation.

  • Consideration of gate scorecard: The candidates applying for M.Tech Programmes with a valid GATE score card are eligible for 5% relaxation in the qualifying examination marks.

  • Minimum qualification: The candidates who want to pursue a B.Tech programme should have qualified class 12th from the state of Kerala or any other equivalent board with PCM.

CUSATCAT 2018 Exam Pattern

  • Exam type: CUSAT CAT 2018 is an Online test. 
  • Marking scheme: For every correct answer 3 marks will be awarded and for an incorrect answer, 1 mark will be deducted. 

  • Number of Papers: The CUSAT CAT consists two papers.

  • Paper 1: It will be of Mathematics and there are a total of 125 questions

  • Paper 2: This paper will be comprised of Physics and Chemistry. There were be a total of 125 questions in the ratio of 3:2 (Physics 75 questions; Chemistry: 50 questions)

  • Syllabus varies: The syllabus of CUSAT CAT 2018 is different for different courses.

  • Topics covered: The syllabus of the first-degree programme covers all the topics of class 11th and 12th.

  • Prepare according to syllabus: To score good marks, candidates should prepare according to its prescribed course syllabus.

Eligibility Criteria and Admission Process:

The student should have a minimum of 45%(general) marks and 40%(reservations) marks in his/her 12th Board.
