DU LLB 2018 Eligibility:

  • Applicants need to read and understand the DU LLB eligibility criteria so that all the minimum academic qualification and age required to apply for the central university law entrance exam.
  • There will be no fees that will be returned if found ineligible for the LLB admissions in Delhi University.
  • The applicant's age should not be more than 30 years of age.

  • Complaints of cheating in entrance exams rock Delhi University

Several reports of cheating have surfaced during DU's entrance exams, including those held at Hindu, Kirori Mal and Hansraj colleges, and at Law Faculty.

  • No LLB seat cuts in Law Faculty, says Delhi High Court.

A major relief to those aspiring to join the Delhi University (DU) Law Faculty, the Delhi High Court on Wednesday asked that 2,310 students be admitted in the LLB course.

  • A week before the exam, DU announces a change in BA LLB test pattern. 

The new pattern, there will be 100 multiple choice questions on English language comprehension, general knowledge and current affairs, reasoning and analytical abilities, legal awareness, aptitude in the test.

DU LLB 2018 Important Dates

  • DU LLB application form availability: The DU LLB application forms will be available from the first week of April 2018 until the fourth week of April 2018.
  • DU LLB Admit Card: The DU LLB admit cards will be issued in the second week of May 2018. The duplicate admit card will be issued in the second week of May to the second week of June 2018.
  • DU LLB exam date: The DU LLB exam will be held in the 1st week of June 2018.
  • DU LLB results: The DU LLB results will be declared two weeks after the examination.
  • DU LLB Counselling date: The DU LLB counselling process will begin in the second week of July and will end in the first week of August 2018.

DU LLB 2018 Eligibility

  • Eligibility criteria regarding education: Candidates who have completed their graduation and post-graduation from an Institution that is affiliated to them.
  • Eligibility criteria for General category candidates: Candidates who are planning to appear for the DU LLB 2018 examination are required to complete their graduation or post-graduation from Delhi University or UGC accredited institution or from a foreign university. Candidates should have scored a minimum of 50% in the exam.
  • Eligibility criteria for OBC category candidates: Candidates who are planning to appear for the DU LLB 2018 examination are required to complete their graduation or post-graduation from Delhi University or UGC accredited institution or from a foreign university. Candidates should have scored a minimum of 45% in the exam.
  • Eligibility criteria for SC/ST category candidates: Candidates who are planning to appear for DU LLB 2018 examination are required to complete their graduation or post-graduation from Delhi University or UGC accredited institution or from a foreign university. Candidates should have scored a minimum of 40% in the exam.

DU LLB 2018 Application Process

  • Date: The DU LLB application form will be issued in the first week of April 2018. The application forms should be submitted by the fourth week of April 2018.
  • Procedure: The DU LLB application forms will be available on the official website. Candidates can register online.
  • Details: The details required are as follows Name, Date of Birth, Gender, Mobile Number, etc.

DU LLB 2018 Application Form Details

  • Application form availability: The DU LLB application forms will be available from the first week of April until the fourth week of April 2018.
  • Application fees: The application fees for the General and OBC category candidates through the post is Rs. 750/-, DU LLB fees for the SC and ST category candidates through the post is Rs. 300/-, the application fees for the General and OBC category candidates at the counter is Rs. 700/- and the application fees for the SC or ST category candidates is Rs. 250/-

DU LLB 2018 Admit Card

  • Availing the admit card: The DU LLB admit cards are sent to the candidate's registered address. Incase candidates do not get their admit cards then they can receive it from the Office of Admission Committee DU. To recceive an admit card personally the candidate should submit two recent passport size photographs with a fee of Rs. 50/-
  • Procedure: The DU LLB admit card will be available on the official website and candidates can download it from the website. The admit card will not be mailed to the candidates. Candidates can go to the Existing User tab on the official website and enter their login ID and password. The candidate's profile will open. Now click on the "Download DU LLBB Admit Card" button. Save and take a print out of the admit card.
  • Details: The DU LLB admit card contains the Name of the candidate, Roll Number, Exam Venue, Category, etc.
  • Identity Proof: Candidates have to carry an identity proof along with their admit card.
  • The photograph should be clear. The detail should be correct.
  • Tampering with the admit card will lead to disqualification of the candidate. Plagiarism is a serious offence and will have consequences.

DU LLB 2018 Exam Pattern

  • Number of questions: There are 175 questions in the exam
  • Type of questions: There are multiple choice questions.
  • Medium: The exam will be in English.
  • Negative marking: There is negative marking in the exam.
  • Marking scheme: For every correct answer 4 marks will be awarded and 1 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.
  • Sections: The DU LLB exam consists of five sections.
  • English section: This section tests a candidate's basic English language skills.
  • General knowledge and current affairs section: This section tests a candidate's familiarity with his or her surroundings and the world.
  • Mathematics section: There are questions regarding numerical and basic mathematics topics.
  • Legal Awareness and Aptitude: This section tests a candidate's interest in the legal subject.
  • Reasoning section: This section tests an individual's analytical and logical reasoning skills.

DU LLB 2018 Syllabus

  • The main topics for the DU LLB exam is as follows Jurisprudence, Criminal Law, Law of Contracts (General Principles), Constitutional Law of India, Public International Law, Law of Torts and Family Law (Marriage and Divorce).

DU LLB 2018 Results

  • Result date: The DU LLB result will be published two weeks after the examination.
  • Cut-off marks: The results will be based on the cut-off list.
  • Procedure: The results will be published on the DU LLB Official website. The candidates need to enter their roll number and Date of Birth to view the results.

DU LLB 2018 Counselling

  • Conducting authority: The counselling process will be organised by the faculty of law, Delhi University. The central university will be responsible for carrying out counselling of students from the general, ST, SC, OBC, and PWD categories.
  • Counselling date: The counselling process will begin in the second week of July and will end in the first week of August 2018.
  • Mode: The counselling process will be held in offline mode at the university campus.
  • Procedure: The DU LLB counselling begins with verification of documents and verification of seats. The documents are kept in place. Counselling is based on the merit list. There will be around five sessions of counselling. A counselling schedule will be announced and candidates are required to be present with their documents. If a candidate fails to attend the counselling session in person when the counselling schedule is announced then the seat is given to another candidate with merit. The candidate is required to pay the college fees once the process is completed.
  • Delhi University grants 2611 LLB seats in three different centres of the University based on the entrance examination of 2016.
  • Documents required: The candidates have to bring the following documents for the counselling process E-admit card for DU LLB 2018, Application form for DU LLB 2018, Candidate rank card or merit card, Original 10th pass certificate  and one copy of the same, Original 12th pass certificate and one copy of the same, Graduation Certificate, Migration Certificate (graduation), Original graduation marks sheet and one photocopy of the same, College leaving certificate, Character certificate, Caste Certificate (If applicable) and PWD certificate (If applicable).

No, a student cannot be transferred from one Law Centre to another in the first year of study. The transfer of a student in the third or fifth term shall be considered by the Admission Committee which comprises of the Dean and the Professors-in-charge of the Law Centers, within two weeks of commencement of teaching for DU LLB.
