Application process for GATE 2018

All candidates must apply ONLINE. The application portal can be accessed through any of the following GATE zonal websites.

  • Candidates who fulfill the eligibility criteria can fill in the form for GATE 2018 online via GOAPS (GATE Online Application Processing System).
  • The GOAPS portal is self-explanatory and user-friendly.
  • Online help about using GOAPS is also available.
  • Candidates are discouraged from making application through a third person.
  • The information provided should be absolutely correct if someone else is making the application on one's behalf.
  • Candidates must submit all the original documents to complete the registration process.
  • All candidates must apply online and the application fee is not refundable.
  • Candidates must begin with registering themselves on the website for GATE 2018. 
  • All communications from the GATE Offices will be sent to this email address.
  • A password is generated after the candidate fills in their email ID, contact number and other required details.  this email address.
  • The candidate chooses a password during Enrollment at GOAPS. This password must be remembered along with the GOAPS Enrolment ID to login to GOAPS.
  • Upon registration, the email containing the GOAPS Enrolment ID will be sent to the candidate.
  • The GOAPS portal is self-explanatory and user-friendly. Online help about using GOAPS is also available.
  • Candidates who satisfy the eligibility criteria for GATE 2018 should then move on to adding details about their education and personal information.
  • Candidates must then review the filled in form of GATE 2018 and confirm the changes.
  • Post confirmation for submitting the GATE form, no changes will be made.

Payment for GATE 2018:

  • Once the candidates have completed filling the application form for GATE 2018, they should proceed to make the payment online via net banking, e-challan or debit card.
  • The process for application for GATE will close about three months before the examination.
  • Candidates must ensure to check the status of the application from time to time on the website.
  • Before you make the payment, you will be shown a “Preview” of your application, where you have to carefully check for any errors.
  • Candidates who belong to SC or ST or PWD category have to upload a valid documentary evidence for concession in fees.

Login to the site and check for any of the following categories:

  • Status after Rectification
  • Received
  • Defect Status
  • GATE Admit Card ready for download
  • Rejected with Valid Reason
  • Under Scrutiny
  • Accepted

The details of the application fee for GATE 2018 Exam for different categories :

Note:

GATE 2018 has a reservation policy by means of which seats will be reserved for candidates who are part of underprivileged classes such as Scheduled Caste, Persons with Physical Disability, Scheduled Tribe and Other Backward Classes.

The candidates will have to fill the registration form with the following details:

  • Candidates name.
  • Candidates email-Id and mobile number.
  • Click on Submit upon completion.

Such candidates have to apply for JEE Main 2017 by entering 14 digits Aadhaar Enrolment ID/UR No. (Including slash) printed on the slip issued by aadhaar centre after submitting updation request.

What is the Application process for the GATE 2017 examination?

The application process for GATE 2017 will be online only.

  • Candidates can fill the form for GATE 2017 online via GOAPS-- GATE Online Application Processing System.
  • There are several stages for the application process to be complete. Begin with registering yourself on the website for GATE. A password will be created after you fill in the email id and contact number.   
  • Move on to adding details about education and personal stuff. Preview the filled in form of GATE.
  • Post confirmation for submitting the GATE form, no changes will be made.

Once you are done with saving the application form for GATE, proceed to make the payment online via net banking, e-challan or debit card. QOnline Payment

I want to make online payment but by mistake I selected e-challan mode and then this message was shown :"e-Challan Payment made. Your payment has not yet been received by GATE-2016. Take a printout of the challan and deposit the amount in State Bank of India. Check your payment status after 72 hours of depositing the amount" Can I do the online payment now? What should I do now for making an online payment?

  • The board will get back to you. Check your application status and see if they have given any rectifications to make. Else if your application shows successful you don’t have to worry.
