Introduction to GCET/GOA CET 2018 Exam:

  • About: GOA Common Entrance Test 2018 abbreviated as GCET 2018 or GOA CET 2018 is a state level entrance examination that is conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Goa for those who are seeking admissions for B.E, B.Arch, and B.Pharm.

  • Grandiosity: The Government of Goa established the Directorate of Technical Education in the year 1986 to Facilitate new technical education institutions and courses in the state of Goa with the vision to make Goa as a national hub for technical education. 

  • Authority: Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Goa, has absolute rights for conducting GCET/GOA CET 2018 examination and to decide about modalities of admissions and allotment of seats.
  • Seat availability: The GCET/GOA CET 2018 examination is conducted usually in the month of may and there are around 1300 seats available all across Goa.

GCET/GOA CET 2018 News:

  • Exam Date Released: GCET 2018 Exam Dates have been released now. The exam will be conducted on 8th May (for Physics & Chemistry) and 9th May (for Mathematics).

GCET/GOA CET 2018 Important Dates:

  • Application Form: GCET/GOA CET 2018 application form commences on 22nd March 2018 to 3rd April 2018 and to interested candidates can fill the form online.

  • Admit Card: The GCET 2018  admit card will be available from 30th April 2018. GCET/GOA CET 2018 exam will be conducted on 8th May 2018 and the registered candidates are expected to participate without fail.

GCET/GOA CET 2018 Eligibility:

  • Qualifications: The candidate who has passed his/her 10+2 from state board or any other recognized board with Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry as the compulsory subjects are eligible for GCET/GOA CET 2018.

  • Age: The interested candidate should be at least 17 years of age for UG courses in order to be eligible for GCET/GOA CET 2018.

GCET/GOA CET 2018 Application Form:

  • Details: Interested candidates of GCET/GOA CET 2018 have to fill their personal information such as candidate's name, parent's name, address, DOB, phone number etc and have to upload their photograph in order to complete the application form successfully.

  • Procedure: Candidates are required to fill Form-A, to apply for the entrance examination and Form-B for the admission into professional degree courses.

GCET/GOA CET 2018 Exam Pattern:

  • Mode and Scheme: GCET/GOA CET 2018 examination is a pen-paper based exam that is conducted in offline mode and each paper shall consist of 75 (Seventy-Five) questions of one mark each with no negative marking.

  • Duration: Registered candidates should keep in mind that the time duration for GCET/GOA CET 2018 is 2 hours.

GCET/GOA CET 2018 Admit Card:

  • Credentials to Download: In order to get admit card, the candidate should enter registration number and password. The admit card contains details such as Registration Number, exam Centre, examination Date and Time, candidates photo etc.
  • Documents: It is mandatory to carry admit card along with identity card to the examination hall, failing in it the candidate will not be allowed to enter the examination hall.

GCET/GOA CET 2018 Syllabus:

  • B.E: The syllabus for B.E includes the topic from Physics, maths, and chemistry of Class XI and Class XII prescribed by the state govt of goa.

  • B.Arch: The syllabus for B.Arch will be prescribed by NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) and the students can follow the NATA Board for regular updates.

Paper Analysis of GCET/GOA CET 2017:

  • Overall Difficulty level: The candidates who wrote GCET/GOA CET 2017 felt that the overall difficulty level of the examination was Moderate.

  • Paperwise difficulty: Candidates felt, while Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics were moderate and straightforward questions. But none of the questions asked in the exam was out of the syllabus.

  • Time limit problem: Candidates felt quite Moderate to complete all the Papers in the given time.

GCET 2018 Important Dates

  • Main Purpose: Dates are very important aspects of any entrance examination, the candidate will get know about the proper schedule for filling the GCET/GOA CET 2018 application form and entrance examination dates and any other important dates.

  • Application form availability: The GCET/GOA CET 2018 online application form will be available from 22nd March 2018 to 3rd April 2018.

  • Admit card: The GCET/GOA CET 2018 admit card will be available on 30th April 2018.

  • Exam date: The GCET/GOA CET 2018 examination will be held on 8th May 2018 and up to 9th May 2018.

  • Result: The GCET/GOA CET 2018 result will be published on 17th May 2018.

  • Counselling: The GCET/GOA CET 2018 counselling process will begin on 1st June 2018.

GCET 2018 Eligibility

GCET/GOA CET 2018 Eligibility Criteria Summary:

  • Nationality: The candidates must be a citizen of GCET/Goa CET 2018 for applying for this exam.

  • Domicile: The candidates not having the valid Domicile or the citizenship certificate will not be eligible to apply for the GCET/GOA CET 2018 exam.

  • Age: Candidates must be of 17 years of age before the 31st December of the academic year for applying for the Medical courses i.e. MBBS/BDS. There is no age limitation for the candidates for applying for any of the medical courses as per the norms of Eligibility Criteria of GCET 2018.

  • Educational Qualifications: Candidates must have passed secondary education (12th) from a recognized board with a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology.
  • SC/ST Candidates: Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC will have to secure a minimum of 45% marks. In case of and physically handicapped candidates, they are required to secure minimum of 40% marks.

  • PUC Candidates: Candidates who are appearing in the exam of the class 12th can also apply for the exam and they have to submit all the required documents till the date provided by the institution if they got selected.

  • Note: Candidates not having the required percentage will not be able to take the exam and got selected for the admission process.

GCET/GOA CET 2018 Application Process Summary:

Registration of applicant:

  • Application filling: Visit the official GCET/GOA CET 2018 website and fill the form.

  • Selecting exam center: Choose your preferred GCET exam center.

  • Previously studied college: Complete details about your education.

  • Cross check: Check the information you entered once again and then submit it at the center along with three identical photographs. The candidate is required to submit Class 10 and 12 passing certificate along with Class 12 hall ticket.

  • Fine: The GCET/GOA CET 2018 forms are accepted until last week of April 2018 with a late fee of INR.1000/-.

  • Application cost: The GCET/GOA CET 2018 application fee is INR. 1500/-.

GCET 2018 Application Form Details

2018 GCET/GOA CET 2018 Application form Summary:

  • Submission: The registration for this examination has to be physically done.

  • Official site: You can download the form from the official website of GCET/GOA CET 2018.

  • Fee: The candidate needs to download the form from the official website and then submit it, duly filled along with the application fees at the Center mentioned.

  • Procedure: Two application forms will be issued for GCET/Goa Cet 2018 exam. It will be distinguished as Form-A and Form-B.Candidates are required to fill Form-A, to apply for the entrance examination.  Whereas, Form-B will be filled for the admission into professional degree courses.

  • Late fee: The forms are accepted up to last week of April 2018 along with the late fees of INR.1000/-.

  • Collecting Application: The candidates also have the option of collection the GCET/GOA CET 2018 application forms from the designated centers in Goa.

GCET 2018 Exam Pattern

GCET/GOA CET 2018 Exam Pattern Summary:

  • Exam mode: The GCET examination is in English and is conducted in a pen paper mode.

  • Pen specifications: Candidates need to carry a black ballpoint pen to answer the questions.

  • Questions: It will be a multiple choice examination with four options available for each question.

  • Marks: Each correct answer will fetch you one mark.

  • Duration: The GCET/GOA CET 2018 examination will be conducted over a period of two days. 

  • Topics: The questions in the exam will be asked from the syllabus of class XI and XII, as according to the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education.The GCET/Goa CET 2018 examination has four papers consisting of two hours each.The papers consist of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Computer Science.

  • Exam Pattern: There will be 75 questions for one mark each. Thus, there will be 225 questions in total for a duration of 2 hours. There is no negative marking.

GCET/GOA CET 2018 Results Summary

 Step to download GCET 2018 results:

The result of GCET 2018 will be announced tentatively in the third week of May 2018.

The given steps can be followed by the candidates to check the GCET 2018 result:

  • The view the individual result of GCET 2018, the candidates will have to select “GCET Number” option.

  • Next, the candidates will have to enter their roll number.

  • The individual GCET Result 2018 will be displayed on the screen.

  • The candidates can check the GCET result and print it out for future use.

Note: The candidates will also be able to view the result of all candidates which will be uploaded online in downloadable PDF format.

GCET 2018 Counselling

Counseling Summary for GCET/GOA CET 2018:

The successful candidates will have to take part in the counseling process which will in June 2018 and go on until July 2018.

  • It will be held in two rounds after the results and the entire process of counseling will include document verification, seat allotment, and admissions. The counseling is based on the Merit List.
  • The counseling will be held for Goa GCET 2018 admission for the candidates into the various engineering programs. Candidates must attend two rounds for counseling. The application Form B must be produced at the time of counseling.

  • Candidate must fill the form by their own handwriting. They must fix one passport size photograph in the form and another on the acknowledgment card.

  • Candidates must produce all the necessary documents required along with Form B without which they will not be allowed to take admission.

  • Candidates must note the scheduled dates allotted for counseling and attend the counseling process without failure.

  • At the time of counseling, candidates will be allotted seats on the basis of their rank.

  • The admission will be completed only after the candidate has deposited his/her original documents and paid the fees.

  • I gave about entrance exam. I qualified the minimum cutoff and finally got GCET in my first counselling . The admission cell was very helping and supporting. Though I was alone they supported me. The college is very strict about the rules made UPTU.
