  • Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) is a national level exam conducted by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.
  • Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India authorize it every year.

The GPAT score is universally accepted by all the colleges/ Institutes/ Department/ Affiliated Colleges/ University approved by AICTE.

GPAT 2018 Scholarship:

  • Candidates who qualify the set cut-off of GPAT, AICTE provides the scholarship to them.
  • Candidates who get admission in AICTE approved institution for M.pharma through DBT are eligible for the scholarship.
  • Candidate should a valid scorecard of GPAT 2018. 

Eligibility criteria:

  • The candidate must satisfy the eligibility criteria to write GPAT 2018.
  • There is no age limit for GPAT.
  • Candidates must pass his/her 10th and 12th from any recognized board.
  • The candidate must be a graduate in pharmacy from a recognized Board or University.

Application Form for GPAT 2018:

  • The application form for GPAT 2018 begins on the 10th October 2017  to 25th December 2017.
  • Candidates can fill the application form online from the official website.
  • The process of filling application form will be completed only after paying the registration fee.
  • The registration fee is INR 1400/- for general category and INR 700/- for reserved category.
  • The candidates should fill the correct details in the forms.
  • Candidates are requested to recheck the filled details before submitting the forms.

Admit Card for GPAT 2018:

  • The admit card is equivalent to the hall ticket.
  • The admit card will be uploaded on the official website on 16th January 2018.
  • Candidates can download the admit card from the official website of AICTE-GPAT using candidate’s login ID and password.
  • Candidates can click on admit card for more details about the admit card.
  • It is mandatory to carry admit card along with identity card to the examination hall.
  • failing in it the candidate will not be allowed to enter the examination hall.

  • Commencement of application process: The GPAT online application process will begin on 10th October 2017.
  • Last date for online application: The GPAT online application process will end on 25th December 2017.
  • Last date for submitting GPAT application form: The GPAT application form should be submitted by December 2018.
  • Availability of GPAT admit card: The GPAT admit card will be made available on 16th January 2018.
  • GPAT exam date: GPAT exam will be held on 28th January 2018.
  • Result Date: The GPAT results will be declared on 8th February 2018.

Candidates shall have to fulfill the following eligibility requirements to be eligible for applying GPAT 2018 :

  • Nationality: Candidate should be the citizen of India.

Qualifying Examination: 

  • The minimum educational requirement is Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharma) of duration 4 years.
  • Candidates passed/appearing the lateral entry B.Pharma programme is also eligible to apply.

Appearing Candidates: Those who are in final year of B.Pharma course are eligible for appearing the GPAT.

No Age Criteria: No age restriction is there for appearing the online examination of GPAT.

GPAT application procedure: 

  • The candidates must go to the official website of GPAT and click on the application form link.
  • Students are requested to fill in the required details in the GPAT application form.

Payment of GPAT application fee: 

  • After the GPAT application form is filled up, candidates must pay the application fee.
  • The application fee is INR 1,400 for general category students and INR 700 for reserved category students.
  • The fee can be paid either online or through SBI Challan. If the application fee is not paid, candidates will not be able to submit the application form.

Generation of login ID and password: On successful submission of the GPAT application form, a login ID and a 6 digit password will be generated.

Instruction to fill in the application form for GPAT 2018 

  • Candidates can register for GPAT 2018  through online mode only by accessing the official website of AICTE-GPAT.
  • The registration process involves 3 steps: self-registration, fee payment and filling of details in application form.
  • At the time of registration, candidates also need to upload scanned signature (size should be 60 x 90 (≤30 Kb))and scanned photograph (size should be 140 x 160 (≤60 Kb)).
  • Candidates should make sure that all the fields in the application form are filled correctly as no date will change once the form is finally submitted.
  • At last, candidates can print their filled form and retain the copy of same for further references.

Application Fee:

  • The GPAT application fee is INR 1,400 for general/ OBC students and it is INR 700 for SC/ST/PWD/Female students.
  • The application fee is subject to bank charges.

Mode of payment of application fee:

  • The GPAT application fee can be paid in online or offline mode.
  • In the case of online mode, the application fee can be paid through debit card or credit card, net banking or SBI bank challan.
  • In Offline mode, the application fee can be paid through E-challan of SBI.

Confirmation message: Students will get a confirmation message on their registered mobile number on successful payment of application fee.

Downloading of GPAT admit card:

  • The GPAT admit card must be downloaded from the official website using the login ID and password generated to the candidate.
  • The admit card for GPAT 2018 will be available from 16th January 2018.
  • Candidates need to log in using username and password to download the admit card.
  • A printout of downloaded admit card must be brought to the test center on the day of examination.

Steps to download the admit card:

GPAT 2018 Exam Pattern

GPAT 2018 Exam Pattern Summary 

  • Exam Mode: The examination will be carried out as online Computer Based Test (CBT) where questions will be shown on a computer screen.
  • Type of Questions: The question paper will contain multiple-choice questions only.
  • Maximum Marks: There will be total 125 questions carrying 500 marks.
  • Medium: The medium of the test paper will be English only.
  • Exam Duration: The duration of the examination will be 3 hours.
  • Marking Scheme: Each right answer will carry 4 marks.
  • Negative Marking: The wrong answer will result in negative marking. For each wrong answer, 1 mark will be deducted. Question not attempted will result in zero marks.

Steps to check results:

  • Candidates must go to the official website of GPAT and click on the result link.
  • The login ID and password must be entered and the results will appear on the screen.
  • Click on ‘submit’ button.
  • Download the displayed GPAT 2018 Scorecard
  • Take a print out of GPAT 2018 Scorecard

Merit List:

  • Candidates need to score the minimum qualifying marks in the GPAT 2018 examination in order to participate in the organized counseling.
  • The merit list will be prepared based on the score and rank of the candidates.
  • The percentile will be calculated based on the total number of candidates who appeared for the exam and the score of the candidates.
