  • The Indian Maritime University (IMU) was established on 14th November 2008 as a teaching-cum-affiliating university under the AEGIS of the Ministry of Shipping, Government of India, with its headquarters at Chennai.
  • It was set up to promote maritime studies, research, training and extension with a focus on emerging areas like oceanography, maritime history, maritime security, maritime laws, search and rescue, transportation of dangerous cargo, environmental studies and other related fields, and to achieve excellence in these areas.
  • There are 7 institutes under IMU; 3 institutes in Mumbai, 2 institutes in Chennai and 2 institutes in Kolkata.
  • The University has 24 affiliated institutes under it.
  • IMU CET 2018 is a national level entrance exam for students who want admissions in B.Sc, B.Tech, MBA and M.Tech courses in the Marine field.

Application Form:

  • The eligible candidates are required to apply for the exam from the online application form available on their official website.
  • The candidates are required to upload the scanned copies of their signature, photograph and marks card (which is a proof of date of birth).
  • Aspiring candidates who belong to the reserved category are required to update the caste certificate.
  • The candidates can then preview the filled application form and submit the same.
  • The payment of the exam fee can be done after submitting the application form.

Admit Card:

  • The examination authority will inform the candidates about the availability of the admit cards through an SMS and email.
  • The registered candidates can download the admit card from the official website by filling the details in the respective form.
  • Once the candidates download the form, it is suggested to look for any incorrect information on the admit card .in case of any issue in the admit card, the candidates can approach the examination authorities to get it rectified.

Syllabus:

  • The syllabus for various courses can be accessed from the official website.
  • Usually, the syllabus for the IMUCET exam is based on the topics studied in class 10 and 12.
  • The candidates can refer the reference books and guides which contains the specified syllabus.

Result:

  • The candidates can view their results from the official exam website.
  • The result can be viewed by the candidates by entering their registration number and date of birth in the results portal.
  • The candidates can get a printout of the result for future.
