Introduction to KCET 2018:

  • About: The establishment of common entrance test by the Government of Karnataka is done in the year 1994. Candidates must attend and clear the KCET 2018 eligibility test for admission to undergraduate courses in all the colleges/institutes in Karnataka.

  • Courses: KCET 2018 examination enables candidates to seek admissions for bachelors programs in Homeopathy, Ayurveda, Unani, Naturopathy, Yoga, Engineering, B.Sc Agriculture, Sericulture, Forestry, Horticulture, B-Pharma, and D-Pharma. Non-Karnataka candidates cannot appear for this examination.

  • Conducting Authority: Karnataka Common Entrance Test KCET 2018 is state level entrance exam conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) and it helps candidates to seek admission into various undergraduate programs in colleges/institutes comes in Karnataka.

  • Certify: Candidates must appear for the exam KCET 2018 examination in order to obtain admission for undergraduate courses through KEA and score a minimum qualifying cut off percentage in KCET 2018 Exam with requisite ranking as per their category.

  • Mobile Application: The Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) has provided a mobile phone app through which candidates can perform a range of tasks including paying fees. The mobile application will be launched as soon as the KCET 2018 application process starts.

KCET 2018 Latest News:

  • KCET Non-Medicine candidates: From 2018, KEA will not conduct the KCET exam for the aspiring candidates of Medicine and Dental courses, and these students will be allocated seats to the courses based on the NEET scores.

  • KCET Registration Dates: From 2018 Karnataka Government plans single entrance exam for all engineering colleges and the candidates can register themselves for KCET 2018 from 25th January 2018 and the last date till KCET 2018 admit card is 1st March 2018. 

KCET 2018 Schedules:

  • Application form availability:  KCET 2018 application form will be available for the candidates on the official website of KCET from 25th January 2018 and the registration will end by 1st March 2018 (tentatively).

  • Examination:  It is mandatory to appear in the KCET 2018 exam who have been successfully applied and the exam starts from 18th April 2018 and ends by 19th April 2018.

KCET 2018 Eligibility Criteria:

  • Education Qualification: The candidates who wish to attend the KCET 2018 exam must have completed their class 12 or Second PUC exam with a minimum of 50% marks.

  • Compulsory Subjects: Students must have appeared and cleared 2nd PUC with the subjects  Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics compulsory along with other subjects as per the requirement of the course they wish to pursue, the Aspiring candidates of the various courses from other states can also take up the KCET 2018 exam.

KCET 2018 Registration process:

  • Mode of Applying: The candidates who are eligible as per the criteria set by the KEA can apply for the KCET 2018 exam via online application form available on the official website of KEA and have to fill in their personal and academic details in the KCET 2018 application form and also candidates need to upload the scanned images of the photograph, signature, and thumb impression in the specified file size as per KEA.
  • Payment: After filling the KCET 2018 application form completely the candidates will have to pay the application fee through either online or offline modes.

 KCET 2018 Exam Pattern: 

  • Mode & Duration: KCET 2018 exam will be conducted in an offline mode (Pen and paper-based). Duration of the examination will be 2 hours and 40 minutes.

  • Total Marks: KCET 2018 consists a total of 180 questions, each question carries 1 mark and there is no negative marking.

KCET 2018 Exam preparation tips:

  • Make a plan: Plan your studies in an easy way before starting your studies. Make points that you are going to complete on a daily basis. prepare your own timetable.

  • Go through: After planning, Go through the previous year question paper of KCET exams and Give preference to the repeated questions and topics.

  • Speed up: Make sure you are doing better than yesterday and try to speed up according to time.

  • Mock test: Practice for taking mock test papers and learn from your mistakes by evaluating it by yourself.

  • The advantage for candidates: There is no negative marking in AKTU/UPTU 2018 examination. If you don't know the answer always take an educated guess and you have a 50% chance of getting the right answer.

KCET 2018 Guidelines:

  • Mandatory document: Candidates need to carry downloaded Admit card as a necessary document and without admit card no candidate is allowed to sit in the exam hall.

  • Be early: Candidates has to be 15mins early to the examination hall to find their room and seat numbers.

  • No electronic devices: Candidates are not allowed to carry any electronic devices like calculator, log table, scientific calculator ec.,

  • Check the details: After downloading the Admit card candidates need to make sure that information that is present in the Admit card is correct and if they found any mistakes in the admit card candidates need to report it to the responsible authority soon.

  • Credentials to carry: Along with the KCET admit card candidates need to carry any Valid ID proof like Passport, Adhar card, PAN card, College identity card etc., 

  • Stationaries: Candidates are not allowed to carry more than two/three blue or black ballpoint pen and also candidate is not allowed to carry a pencil with him to the exam hall.

  • Minimum criteria: The candidate has to pass 12th standard or its equivalent examination.

  • Mandatory subjects: Biology, Chemistry, and Physics subjects should have been studied by the student along with English.
