Eligibility Criteria for KCET 2018 

Basic Eligibility Criteria for KCET 2018:

The eligibility criteria for all the applicants to be eligible for KCET 2018 are as  follows:

  • Applicants have to pass Karnataka 2nd PUC or 12th standard or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subject and English with one of the languages of study to be eligible for KCET 2018.
  • Applicant must secure a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate to satisfy eligibility criteria under KCET 2018.
  • For admission to Architecture course, applicants have to appear for NATA conducted by the Council of Architecture to fulfill the eligibility criteria for KCET 2018.
  • Students of Jammu & Kashmiri migrants are eligible for KCET 2018 provided they produce a proof of migration obtained from the jurisdictional “District Magistrate and Deputy
    Commissioner” of any state in India.

Note:

  • Applicants who have cleared class 12th from Karnataka Open State University are not eligible for KCET 2018.
  • Applicants who have studied 10 academic years in Kannada medium from class 1st to class 10th outside Karnataka need not appear for the Kannada Language Test conducted by KEA.
  • Applicants should have studied and passed the qualifying examination from any Government or Government recognized educational
    institution.

KCET 2018 Eligibility for Horanadu & Gadinadu Kannadiga applicants

  • The applicants whose mother tongue is Kannada, Tulu or Kodava who have resided and studied for a minimum period of 7 years between 1st and 12th standards in disputed Kannada speaking areas of South Sholapur or Akkalkot or Jath or Gadhinglaj Taluks of Maharashtra State or Kasargod or Hosadurga Taluks of Kerala State are eligible for KCET 2018
  • They have to undergo a Kannada Language test to check their ability to speak, read and write Kannada to satisfy eligibility in KCET 2018
  • They have to obtain 12 marks out of 50 marks in Kannada language examination conducted by KEA to gain admission in the Government seats for eligibility in KCET 2018.

Course-wise Eligibility Criteria for KCET 2018:

Medical/Dental (MBBS/BDS):

Eligibility criteria to qualify for KCET 2018 Examination:

  • Applicants have to pass in their 2nd PUC / 12th Std / Equivalent Exam with English as one of the Languages
  • Applicant have to score a minimum of 50% of marks in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Biology subjects and 40% for SC, ST, Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3Aand 3B category applicants

Eligibility Criteria for CET:

  • Applicants have to score a minimum of 50% of marks in aggregate in PCB Subjects (40% for SC, ST, Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B category applicants)

Eligibility Criteria for KCET 2018 Rank:

  • Only on the basis of marks obtained in PCB Subjects in CET.

Ayurveda, Homoeopathy, Unani, Naturopathy, and Yoga (ISM & H):

Eligibility criteria to qualify for KCET 2018 Examination:

  • Applicants have to pass in their 2nd PUC / 12th Std / Equivalent Exam with English as one of the Languages
  • Applicants have to score a minimum of 50% of Marks in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Biology subjects and 40% for SC, ST, Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3Aand 3B category applicants

Eligibility Criteria for CET:

  • No Minimum Marks prescribed in CET

Eligibility Criteria for KCET 2018 Rank:

  • The eligibility is decided by taking marks in equal proportions in QE and CET in PCB subjects.

Engineering/Technology (BE/B.Tech):

Eligibility criteria to qualify for KCET 2018 Examination:

  • Applicants have to pass in their 2nd PUC / 12th Std / Equivalent Exam with English as one of the Languages
  • Applicant has to score a Minimum of 45% of Marks in aggregate in Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Biology / Electronics / Computer and 40% for SC, ST, Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3Aand 3B category applicants.

Eligibility Criteria for CET:

  • No Minimum Marks prescribed in CET.

Eligibility Criteria for KCET 2018 Rank:

  • The eligibility is decided by taking marks in equal proportions in QE and CET in PCM subjects.

Architecture (B.Arch):

Eligibility criteria to qualify for KCET 2018 Examination:

  • Applicants have to pass in their 2nd PUC / 12th Std / Equivalent Exam with Mathematics as Compulsory optional subject
  • Applicants have to score a Minimum of 50% of Marks in aggregate in all the subjects and 45% for SC, ST, Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3Aand 3B category applicants

Eligibility Criteria for CET:

  • Applicants have to score a minimum of 40% of Marks in NATA for all categories of students including SC, ST, and Other Backward Classes

Eligibility Criteria for KCET 2018 Rank:

  • The eligibility is decided by taking marks obtained in all subjects in Qualifying Examination and NATA taken in equal proportions

B.Sc. (Agriculture), B.Sc. (Forestry), B.Sc.(Sericulture), B.Sc.(Agri. Biotech), B.Sc.(Horticulture), B.H.Sc.,(Home Science) B.Tech.(Food Technology), B.Tech.(Dairy Technology), B.F.Sc (Bachelor of Fisheries Science) B.Tech. (Food Science &Tech.), B.Sc.(Ag. Marketing and Co-operation) and B. Tech (Agriculture Engineering):

Eligibility criteria to qualify for KCET 2018 Examination:

  • Applicants have to pass in their 2 PUC / 12 Std / Equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology as optional subjects 

Eligibility Criteria for CET:

  • No Minimum Marks prescribed in CET 

Eligibility Criteria for KCET 2018 Rank:

  • The eligibility is decided by taking marks in equal proportions in QE and CET in PCM subjects. 

Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc. & A.H.):

Eligibility criteria to qualify for KCET 2018 Examination

  • Applicants have to pass in their 2nd PUC / 12th Std. and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English subjects and 40% for SC, ST, Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B category applicants

Eligibility Criteria for CET:

  • No Minimum Marks prescribed in CET

Eligibility Criteria for KCET 2018 Rank:

  • Is based on the marks obtained in PCB in CET

B.Pharm:

Eligibility criteria to qualify for KCET 2018 Examination:

  • Applicants have to pass in their 2nd PUC / 12th Std with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology or Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics and obtained a Minimum of 45% of Marks in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Biology subjects and 40% for SC, ST, Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B category applicants.
  • Or, the applicant has to pass in their Diploma in Pharmacy Examination from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India Under Section 12 of the Pharmacy Act and has secured a minimum of 45% marks.

Eligibility Criteria for CET:

  • No Minimum Marks prescribed in CET

Eligibility Criteria for KCET 2018 Rank:

  • Is based on the marks obtained in PCM or PCB Subjects (whichever is higher) in CET

2nd Year B. Pharm:

Eligibility criteria to qualify for KCET 2018 Examination:

  • Applicants have to pass in their Diploma in Pharmacy Examination from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India Under Section 12 of the Pharmacy Act and have to secure a minimum of 45% marks and 40% for SC, ST, Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3Aand 3B category applicants.

Eligibility Criteria for CET:

  • No Minimum Marks prescribed in CET

Eligibility Criteria for KCET 2018 Rank:

  • Is based on the marks obtained in PCM or PCB Subjects (whichever is higher) in CET

Pharm.D:

Eligibility criteria to qualify for KCET 2018 Examination:

  • Applicants have to pass in their in 2nd PUC / 12th Std with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology or Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
  • Or,  applicants have to pass in their Diploma in Pharmacy Examination from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India Under Section 12 of the Pharmacy Act

Eligibility Criteria for CET:

  • No Minimum Marks prescribed in CET

Eligibility Criteria for KCET 2018 Rank:

  • Is based on the marks obtained in PCM or PCB Subjects (whichever is higher) in CET
