KEAM exam whose full form is Kerala Engineering, Architecture, Medical is a state level entrance exam for candidates who are seeking admission into courses such as Engineering in the colleges in Kerala.The exam is conducted by the CEE (Commissioner of Entrance Examinations) Kerala.

About KEAM 2018 Exam:

  • Kerala Engineering, Architecture and Medical Entrance Exam, commonly known as KEAM is a state level examination organized by the CEE, Government of Kerala. annually.
  • It acts as a judging medium for eligible candidates to acquire admissions into professional courses like agriculture, medicine, engineering, and forestry.
  • A large number of students take this examination every year.
  • Students compete for around 59,000 seats that are available across all courses in KEAM 2018.

There have been few changes made in the KEAM 2018. The changes brought in the exam are:

  • Admissions to medical and relating programs will be based on the NEET Result 2018 score.
  • Similarly, for admissions in the architecture program, the NATA 2018 scores obtained will be considered for admissions.
  • Henceforth, KEAM will now be conducted for Engineering only in 2 sessions.

KEAM 2018 News:

  • Medical Allied Courses Allotment List published on the CEE official website www.cee.kerala.gov.in and cee-kerala.org.
  • Boys have swept the first ten ranks in the 2017 Kerala Engineering Agricultural Medical (KEAM) entrance examination.
  • KEAM registration will be commenced from 1st February 2018 on the KEAM official website.
  • Re-Admission to Medical Allied Courses and Ayurveda Course.

KEAM 2018 Eligibility Criteria:

  • The candidates aspiring to get admission into the engineering colleges in Kerala through KEAM 2018 must have passed the class 12 exam from the HSE board or any other equivalent board.
  • Aspiring candidates must have scored at least 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination to satisfy the eligibility criteria to answer KEAM 2018.
  • There is 5% relaxation in minimum marks for the candidates belonging to the reserved category.
  • The minimum age limit for KEAM 2018 is 17 years as on 31st December of the year of admission.

KEAM 2018 Application Form:

  • The mode of applying for the exam is through an online application form available on the official website.
  • The KEAM Application form 2018 will be available from 1st February 2018 till 9th March 2018.
  • The candidates have to register themselves on the website, post which they are required to log into the respective link and will have to fill the application form.
  • The general category candidates have to pay the application fee of INR 800, and the candidates under the SC/ST category are required to pay a fee of INR 400.
  •  The  ST candidates whose family income is less than INR 40,000 and below are exempted from paying the application fee for the exam but will have to submit the income and caste certificate as a proof of the same.
  • Once the candidates have filled the application form completely, they are required to take a printout of the form and send the same along with the required documents to the concerned exam authority.

KEAM 2018 Admit Card:

  • The admit card also known as hall ticket is issued by the CCE after receiving all the application form.
  • KEAM 2018 Admit card will be available form 10th April 2018. 
  • Admit cards are downloadable from the official website from April.
  • The candidates can download the admit cards by logging in with the application number and date of birth.

KEAM 2018 Exam Pattern:

  • The exam consists of two sessions which include the physics and chemistry in the first session and mathematics in the second session.
  • The question paper consists of 120 multiple choice questions.
  • There is negative marking and one mark is deducted for all the wrong answers.
  • The KEAM Exam Date 2018 is scheduled on 24th April 2018.
  • For engineering courses, the KEAM syllabus consists of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects taught in the 11th and 12th standard.
  • KEAM 2018 examination consists of two papers. Paper 1 will combine physics and chemistry and paper 2 will be mathematics.

KEAM 2018 Results:

  • The KEAM Result 2018 will be announced online on 25th May 2018.
  • KEAM 2018 results will be announced on 25th May 2018. #
  • The exam authority uploads the rank list according to which the counselling process is scheduled.
  • The KEAM trail allotment 2018 starts from 20th June 2018.

KEAM 2018 Allotment:

  • After the results are announced, the counselling session will be announced on the website.
  • The candidates are required to look out for the counselling schedule and attend the same with the necessary documents.
  • The final seat allotment will be done via Centralised Allotment Process (CAP) through Single Window System (SWS). 
  • The allotment will be done on the basis of rank secured by the candidate and options filled in.
  • The candidates will be required to complete the college joining formalities soon after the allotment.
  • The candidates are required to regularly access the official website for updates and notification regarding the important dates of the exam.

Tips for KEAM #year preparation:

  • The candidates are required to refer the books which cover the topic for KEAM #year examination.
  • Previous years question papers and mock tests can be used for the preparation of the exam.

KEAM 2018 Important Dates

KEAM 2018 Exam Dates:

  • The KEAM 2018 application process will begin on 1st February 2018
  • Registration for KEAM 2018 closes on 9th March 2018
  • The Admit Card for KEAM 2018 will be out on 10th April 2018
  • KEAM exam will be held on 24th April 2018.
  • The KEAM results will be out on 25th May 2018 
  • Counselling will take place on 20th June 2018.

KEAM 2018 Eligibility

KEAM 2018 Eligibility Criteria and Cut Off:

  • Candidates must be an Indian or Person of Indian Origin or an Overseas Citizen of India.
  • Candidates must pass 10+2 from HSE Board to take KEAM 2018 exam.
  • Minimum of 50% aggregate marks candidates must score to qualifying for an exam.
  • For physically handicapped candidates must score 45% and for the Reserved quota candidates must score a minimum of 40% in the qualifying exam.
  • In order to be eligible for Technology and Agriculture courses candidates must clear Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics exams.
  • Biology is a mandatory subject for candidates applying for Medical courses.
  • The minimum age for KEAM 2018 is 17 years as on 31st December of the year of admission.

KEAM 2018 Application Process

KEAM 2018 Application Process:

  • Once the candidate is eligible to apply for KEAM 2018, they can fill in the Online form on the official website for notifications about the form release.
  • The application form release date will be on 1st February 2018.
  • Once the form is available, candidates who satisfy the eligibility criteria for KEAM 2018 has to fill in details regarding their identity, qualifications and contact details.
  • Candidates who satisfy the eligibility criteria for KEAM 2018 will then receive a password and login details via SMS and email that were put in the form during registration.
  • For KEAM 2018 candidates should make sure that a recent passport-sized photograph and the digital signature is uploaded in the form.
  • Candidates must read complete Official Brochure and the eligibility norms mentioned before filling in the KEAM 2018 form.
  • The payment can be made either through online mode or offline through Demand Draft.
  • Candidate should take a printout of the online submitted application which contains all the information provided by the candidate.

KEAM 2018 Application Form Details

KEAM 2018 Application Form:

  • The KEAM application fee is Rs.1000 for General Candidates and Rs.500 for Reserved Quota Candidates.
  • Candidates who filled the form online must pay the fees online through net banking, debit card, credit card or Demand Draft.
  • The draft details must be filled in while registering online and the draft must be sent physically to the exam conducting authority.
  • A printout of the form must be sent to the admission office. The CEE will display the form status on the official website.
  • Candidates will get the admit card when the candidates receive acknowledge from KEAM 2018.
  • KEAM 2018 password should be minimum of 8 character length, one charact, one number, one special character.
  • Candidate should provide his Application number and Password to successfully login to KEAM 2018 exam.

KEAM 2018 Admit Card

KEAM 2018 Admit Card:

  • The KEAM 2018 admit card must be carried to KEAM 2018 exam center without fail.
  • Only those candidates who have registered for the exam will get the admit card.
  • Admit card will be available online and it will not be sent by post to any candidate.
  • By entering the application number, captcha, and date of birth candidates can download their KEAM admit card.
  • Details like exam date, venue, time etc will be specified in KEAM 2018 admit card.
  • Printout of admit card is required to attend KEAM 2018 exam and also for further admission process.

KEAM 2018 Exam Pattern

KEAM 2018 Exam Pattern:

  • KEAM 2018 examination consists of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics syllabus.
  • Each paper will have 120 questions. Every correct answer will fetch the candidate 4 marks and there will be negative marking of 1 mark for each incorrect answer.
  • The KEAM exam will be held in pen and paper mode and the online option will not be available.
  • The Engineering entrance exam will have 2 papers i.e Physics and Chemistry as 1 paper and Mathematics as the 2nd paper.
  • Questions related to KEAM 2018 syllabus which usually consists of topics taught to students in their Class XI and Class XII.
  • KEAM 2018 examination duration will be for 150 minutes.
  • Zero marks will be considered if the candidates didn't select an answer.

KEAM 2018 Syllabus

KEAM 2018 Syllabus:

  • KEAM 2018 paper 1 combines syllabus from Physics and Chemistry.
  • Paper 2 of KEAM 2018 contain Mathematics syllabus.
  • Candidates applying for medical should write Biology paper of KEAM 2018. 
  • Physics syllabus: Kinematics, Electrostatics, Gravitation etc.
  • Chemistry syllabus: Hydrogen, Solutions, Equilibrium etc.
  • Mathematics syllabus: Integral calculus, Differential Equations, Sequences and Series etc.
  • Biology syllabus: Food Production, Respiration, Mineral Nutrition etc.

KEAM 2018 Results

KEAM 2018 Results:

  • The KEAM 2018 results will be available on the official website.
  • KEAM 2018 results will be announced on 25th May 2018. 
  • Students are requested to use their registered details and index number to access the results.
  • The KEAM marks card will not be emailed or posted to the candidate. Hence, students are requested to print the KEAM mark sheet from the official website.
  • The KEAM results will be an aggregate score of paper 1 and paper 2.
  • The results will be computed in a standardized procedure and ranks will be determined accordingly.
  • Mathematics marks will be having higher priority and next comes the Physics and chemistry marks higher marks will be considered for tie-breaking.

KEAM 2018 Counselling

KEAM 2018 Counselling:

  • The candidates must login to the official website in order to check the counselling dates.
  • The selected candidates must carry their original marks cards and certificates to the counselling center, failing which the admission will be canceled.
  • The candidates must carry the admit card, results for KEAM 2018, academic certificates, passport photo and character certificates to the counselling venue.
  • Downloaded mark-sheets and scanned certificates are not accepted at the venue.
  • The seat allotment will be done via Centralised Allotment Process through Single Window System.
  • The allotment will be done on the basis of rank secured.
  • Students must report to the college to confirm the admission.

No, it won't be possible to opt for Medical Courses through KEAM anymore.

The entire Medical Course selection will be done through NEET from this year onwards.

During the scrutiny of the application form, if any discrepancy is found in the applicant’s claim or in the certificates such as failure of producing Nativity, defects in certificate produced and more, then a memo while trying to download the admit card will be obtained. All of the defects will be mentioned in the memo.

The necessary documents for correcting the defects should be sent to CEE office on or before the specified date along with the printout of the memo sheet for the KEAM 2017.

The applicants will have to contact the respective branch of SBT and it must be ensured that the bank official collected the cash and the corresponding entry had been updated in “online fee collection portal” meant for CEE. There is an “Application Status” bar on the home page of the online application. When the application is received by the CEE office then the “Received by CEE” status will become in a light green colour background. It will be updated only when the application will be taken for scrutinising and not at the time of receiving. Also, a message will be sent to the registered mobile number regarding the status for KEAM 2017.

Some of the reasons for rejecting the application form for the KEAM examination is:

  • If the photograph of the applicant affixed in the printout of Application and the photograph uploaded online are different or do not follow the guidelines given in the “Photo Guideline”.

  • If the photograph affixed in the printout of Application is not duly attested by the Head of the Institute where he/she last studied.

  • If the uploaded documents are not clear or not as per the required specifications.

  • If the printout of the application form and other documents reach after the last date specified.

The specified period of time when the user doesn’t work with the application is called session timeout. The applicant will have to log in again to proceed further.
