  • About: Karnataka Management Aptitude Test is commonly abbreviated as KMAT. The all-India level examination is a single-window entrance exam for those interested in seeking admission into courses such as MCA, MBA, and PGDM in the State of Karnataka.

  • Authority: Karnataka Private Post Graduate College’s Association is the main authority that conducts KMAT.

  • History: The body was established in 2003 with the aim of arranging active aid for students looking to seek professional and quality post-graduate education.

  • Exam Pattern: The questions asked in KMAT 2018 exam is designed to check candidates quants and logical reasoning skills along with their verbal and general ability.

KMAT 2018 Important Dates:

  • Application Form: KMAT 2018 application form will be available from 23rd May 2018 to 21st July 2018.

KMAT 2018 Eligibility Criteria:

  • Qualification: For PGDM or MBA course, Candidate must have bachelors degree with minimum 3 years duration/ Masters degree examination of any recognised education body in Commerce, Management, Arts, Social Sciences, Engineering/ Technology or equivalent, and have secured at least 50% of marks in the aggregate (45% for SC/ST candidate).

  • Age Limit: There is no age limit restriction to be eligible for KMAT 2018 Examination.

KMAT 2018 Application Form Details:

  • Application Form Dates: The application form for KMAT 2018 will be available from 23rd May 2018 to 21st July 2018 in both online and offline modes.

  • Payment: The candidates have to pay the application form fees of INR 1,000/-  through online (net banking/credit card/debit card/wallets & other online payment) or offline (demand draft) mode.

KMAT 2018 Admit Card:

  • Download: The candidates who filled the KMAT 2018 application form successfully, they can download the admit card from the official website.

 KMAT 2018 Exam Pattern:

  • Mode: KMAT 2018 Examination is Pen-paper based exam. The exam will be conducted in offline mode. 

  • Paper Pattern: There will be total 120 questions in KMAT 2018 exam.Time duration will be 2 hours.

 KMAT 2018 Syllabus:

  • Candidates must have to be prepared for syllabus of KMAT 2018 before appearing in the examination.

  • The syllabus of KMAT 2018 will be based on the topics like Analytical Reasoning, Reading Comprehension and Logical Reasoning.

Eligibility Criteria for KMAT 2018 Course-Wise:

For MBA Courses:

  • Eligibility Criteria: The eligibility criteria for the candidate is to have completed a three-year graduate degree post completion of 10+2, in any stream.

  • Minimum Requirement: The minimum eligibility marks required at graduation level is 50 percent in every subject.

  • Reservation Quota: Candidates who belong to SC/ ST/ OBC/ PD categories should have a minimum of 40% in every subject to satisfying the eligibility criteria.

For MCA Courses:

  • Education Qualification: The candidate must have studied mathematics at 10+2 level or as a Major subject during graduation to be eligible to write KMAT.

  • Specific Subject: Candidates must have chosen Mathematics as their main subject in either in their graduation or 10+2 to be eligible.

  • Reservation Quota: Candidates who belong to SC/ ST/ OBC/ PD categories eligibility criteria is a minimum of 40% in every subject.

Steps to apply for KMAT Examination 2018:

  • The application form for KMAT 2018 will be available on the website, candidate who has fulfilled the eligibility criteria can get the application form from 23rd May 2018.
  • Candidates have to log in to the website, you will receive an ID and Password using which the candidates have to fill the application form for KMAT Exam.

  • Candidates have to fill in Personal Details, Education Qualification, and Contact Details.

  • Candidates can either select Online or Offline mode of payment for KMAT.

  • Now candidates should pick a venue for KMAT exam and select the course you want to apply for.

  • Candidates can now pay the application fees and submit the documents for the KMAT Exam.

Results Summary for KMAT 2018:

  • Results for KMAT will be announced on 10th September 2018.

  • The results can be checked on the official website for KMAT.

The following are the steps to check for KMAT results:

  • The merit list or result of KMAT 2018 will be available on the website of Karnataka Private Post Graduate College’s Association, under the Results tab.

  • The notification for result day too will be available on the website.

  • For accessing the result, candidates will have to use their login ID and password that had been generated at the time of registration.

  • Post-verification can be done through your Date of Birth and admit card number, the result will be shown on the screen.

  • A printout of the result can always be taken for further reference.

  • The result card has to be taken for counselling. It is a mandatory document along with the admit card.

KMAT 2018 Counselling

Counselling Summary for KMAT 2018:

  • Overall 169 Colleges are affiliated to the Karnataka Private Post Graduate College’s Association.

  • Once the results of the written test of KMAT 2018 is announced and each institute under the Karnataka Private Post Graduate College’s Association has set a cut-off for qualification to their courses, the counselling process will be announced.

Counselling Process:

  • A cut- off is set by each college under KPPGC after the announcement of the results.

  • There is a Group Discussion which is followed by the results.

  • After clearing this GD, there is also a Personal Interview with the qualified candidates at the institute campuses.

  • The candidate who has satisfied the eligibility criteria set y these colleges can apply and wait for the next step

  • However, some institutions might choose to have both or either of the two as part of their selection process for candidates.
