An Overview on LIC AAO Recruitment Exam:

  • LIC needs no introduction, a well-known brand name for the majority of us, is the biggest insurance company in India.
  • Constituted by an Act of Parliament 60 years ago, Life Insurance Corporation of India presently operates from more than 3000 offices, and the managed assets under the company already crossed a whopping 16 lakh crores.
  • LIC is also one of the greatest employers in India; as of 2015, the company has a reported employee strength close to 1L, and, at least, 10 Lakh agents.
  • The officers and regular employees in LIC of India are chosen through an online entrance test, that is now managed by IBPS.

Advantages of a career at LIC:

  • The duty of the is generally office-oriented: assignments include managing accounts, communicating daily affairs with authorities, planning branch activities, implementing decisions taken at higher levels, dealing with legal matters, processing claims, marketing, taking advertising strategies, managing funds, etc.
  • LIC is responsible for policy sales and hiring new agents for the corporation.
  • LIC is one of the officials who trains and guides the agents on policy servicing and customer assistance.
  • AAO job is not directly involved in LIC policy sales, so they don’t have any targets.
  • ADOs may have sale targets to achieve, and their promotion and emoluments are associated with the business they bring in.
  • AAO Job is suitable for both men and women.
  • However, ADO position may involve a bit more traveling and field work; it would be difficult for the women officers who are not experienced in sales.
  • The latest salary figure of an LIC AAO is above Rs. 40,000 and is more than what a Bank PO gets.
  • ADOs have lower salaries, but their earning potential is unlimited on account of the commission revenue.

LIC AAO 2018 Eligibility

  • All Indian nationals can apply for the LIC Exam, 2018.
  • As per the LIC Eligibility Criteria, 2018, candidate’s age must be between 21 years and 30 years.
  • Candidates of the reserved category will be offered appropriate relaxation in their upper age.
  • Contenders must have a bachelor degree in any discipline from a university or institute recognized by Parliament or State Legislature.

LIC AAO 2018 Application Process


  • To apply for LIC AAO Exam visit the official website of LIC
  • Application process is of two parts, Part I and Part II
  • In Part I, Candidate has to mention his/her name, Parent's name, Date of Birth, Educational Qualification, Nationality, Community (SC, ST, OBC or PH) and Contact details
  • In Part II, Candidate has to upload his/her scanned copies of photograph and signature
  • And make payment through online mode to successfully submit the application form

LIC AAO 2018 Application Form Details

  • Interested candidate can fill the LIC AAO application form on or before the final date
  • Candidate need to go through the eligibility criteria and the same eligible candidate can apply for the exam
  • Candidate has to keep ready the scanned copies of photograph and signature with the given specification
  • Once candidate fills Part I and Part II of application, he/she has to make payment of fees through online mode
  • For General candidate application fees will be of Rs. 600/- where as for Reserved candidate application fees is Rs. 100/-

LIC AAO 2018 Syllabus

  • Test of Reasoning Ability: This test has been designed to judge your thinking power, contains questions of various kinds. The test will be partly verbal, i.e., based on or related to words and partly non-verbal, i.e., based on or related to figures and drawings.
  • Test of Numerical Ability: The purpose of this test is to ascertain how quick you are in working at numerical calculations.
  • General Knowledge and Current Affairs: The purpose of this test is to ascertain a candidate's general awareness of the environment around him and its application to society. The questions will be designed to test the candidate's knowledge of the current events and of such matters of everyday observation and experience as may be expected of an educated person, including topics in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Physics, etc.
    There may also be questions on Geography of India, land and her people, History of India, her cultural heritage, freedom struggle and salient features of the Constitution of India, Economic and Social Problems. 
  • English Language: The purpose of this test is to gauge your knowledge of English. Your ability will also be tested through your choice of words, expressions and similar skills
