Introduction to MHT CET 2018:

  • About: The MHT-CET or Common Entrance Test is an annual entrance exam conducted by the Government of Maharashtra.
    It is conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education. MHT CET 2018 is a state level selection test. Through this exam, aspirants will get admission into the first year of full-time degree courses in building and innovation, well-being sciences and drug store courses like B.Tech, Pharmacy, and Pharm.D.

  • Conducting Body: MHT CET 2018 will be conducted by the Government of Maharashtra, State Common Entrance Test Cell.
  • Number of Applicants: Over 4 lakhs candidates take part in the MHT CET exam every year.

  • Courses Offered: MHT CET offers admissions to courses in Engineering/Technology (B.E./B.Tech) and Pharmacy (B.Pharm/Pharm D.) as well as some allied health sciences programs in the Government aided and private universities/institutions in Maharastra.

  • Participating colleges: These courses are offered by various universities and colleges situated in Maharashtra state. Candidates can select a college and course based on their marks.

  • Application: The Applications Forms will be available from 18th January 2018 on the official website. There are no other provisions to obtain the application form.

  • The Person in Charge: The Commissioner of the State CET CELL shall be the person in charge of MHT CET 2018.

MHT CET 2018 Latest News:

  • Exam Syllabus Change: The major change that is brought in the exam pattern for MHT CET 2018 according to recent news reports, is the change in Syllabus. The question paper will now contain questions from Class 11 syllabus. The division will be done while setting up the question paper, i.e, 20 percent weightage will be given to class 11 curriculum and 80 percent weightage will be given to class 12 curriculum. The exam will still be divided into three papers, with a total of 250 questions.

MHT CET 2018 Eligibility Criteria:

  • Age limit: There is no age limit specified on the official website to attend MHT CET 2018.
  • Minimum Eligibility: The minimum eligibility for the candidate is to pass 10+2 to be eligible for this MHT CET 2018 Exam.

  • Citizenship: Candidate must be the citizen of India.

MHT CET 2018 Application Form:

  • Modes: MHT CET 2018 Application Form has to be filled through online mode only.

  • Details required: After successful registration candidate has to fill in the application form where he/she will mention his/her personal details and educational details.

  • Issue: The issue of application forms for MHT CET 2018 will start from 18th January 2018 and the deadline to apply is 25th March 2018.

MHT CET 2018 Exam Pattern:

  • Types of Questions: The paper I and Paper II consist of Multiple type questions (Objective Type) of 1 marks each. And Paper III questions carry 2 marks each.

  • Duration: The duration of all three paper is 1 hour and 30 minutes.

  • Languages available: Paper I and Paper II will be in English, Marathi & Urdu and Paper III will be in English

MHT CET 2018 Important Dates

Important dates Summary for MHT CET 2018:

  • The Applications for MHT CET 2018 will be available for all candidates from the February/March 2018.

  • Candidates have to visit the official website for MHT CET 2018 to start their Application Process.

  • The applicants can fill out the required details in the application form and pay the fee until the end of March 2018.

  • All successfully applied candidates can log onto the MHT CET 2018 website on the 4th week of April 2018 to download the Admit Card.

  • The MHT CET examination will commence in the month of May 2018

  • Results will be available on the official website by the 1st or 2nd week of June 2018 following which the counselling will be held.

MHT CET 2018 Eligibility

Eligibility Criteria Summary for the MHT CET 2018:

  • Age limit: Candidates appearing for MHT CET 2018 Health Science Degree should be born on or after the 31st of December 2000 to satisfy the Age Eligibility Criteria.
  • Submission of medical certificate: Candidates should be medically fit as per the standards of the respective medical body. A Medical Certificate in this regard should be submitted by the Candidate to be considered eligible.

  • Eligibility Criteria: The applying candidate should have passed the 10th Final Examination from a school under the Maharashtra State Board as well as the 12th Final examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English as subjects. 

  • Percentage Base: Candidates must have secured a minimum of 50% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Biology, however candidates belonging to the SC/ST category of the society need to have at least 45% aggregate to be eligible. However, there is no age limit for candidates applying. 

MHT CET 2018 Application Process

The Application Process for MHT CET 2018:

  • Filling up details: The interested Candidates can visit the official website for the MHT CET 2018 examination. During the application process, the Candidates will have to specify his/her qualifications and the last qualifying examination before filling in the other details on the form. Once this has been completed the Candidates will be directed to a page where they have to fill in their Personal Details such as Contact Information, Age of the candidate, etc.

  • Password: The Candidate will also be asked to choose a valid password consisting of an upper case, lower case, alphanumeric and special characters and a security question for logging in.

  • Digital Signature: The Candidates will also be asked to upload a Digital Signature before finishing up the Application Process.

  • Application Form: Candidates are advised to have a thorough check on the provided information in the Application Form since no further changes can be made in the case of errors once the Application Form has been submitted.

  • Payment: The final step of the Application Process is the payment for the application which can be done using a Credit  Card / Debit Card / Net Banking or using an E-Challan payable via cash at a State Bank Of India Branch near you.

  • Updated on the website: Once this has been completed the Candidates will have to stay updated on the website for the availability of the Admit Card.

MHT CET 2018 Application Form Details

 Application form details summary for MHT CET 2018:

  • Candidates applying for the MHT CET 2018 examination have to note that the Application Fee for the candidates belonging to the Reserved Quota is INR 600/-.Candidates who belong to the general categories should pay INR 800/- (+60 Bank Charges).
  • Note: The candidate shall submit one and only one Application Form. In case, the candidate submits more than one Application Form, the last submitted online application form along with payment will be treated as valid.

  • The payment can be made using a Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Banking or using an E-Challan which is payable via cash which has to be paid at State Bank of India.

  • All questions are compulsory hence candidate has to answer every question carefully.

MHT CET 2018 Admit Card

Admit Card Summary for MHT CET 2018:

  • Official Website: The Admit Card for the Candidates who have applied for the MHT CET 2018 examination will be available on the official site of MHT CET 2018 on April 2018.

  • Vital document: The Admit Card is an important document to be carried by the candidate on the day of MHT CET 2018 examination. The candidate should also carry a photo ID proof with the admit card.

  • Disallow: Candidates who do not have the Admit Card with them on the day of the Examination will not be allowed to write the exam. 

  • Login: Candidates should use their Date of Birth provided during the Application Process and the Password to log in and download the Admit Card.

  • Reference: Candidates are advised to preserve the Admit Card for future references. Candidates should note that the Admit Card will not be sent via post or E-mail.

  • At the Exam centre: The candidate has to show the admit card for the verification at the exam centre.
  • Hard Copy: A downloaded copy of the Admit Card will be considered valid. The Admit Card should not be Tampered with, as this will result in the candidate getting barred from writing the MHT CET 2018 Examination.

 

MHT CET 2018 Exam Pattern

Exam Pattern Summary for MHT CET 2018:

  • Mode: The Examination of MHT CET 2018 is pen-paper based, the candidates applying for the examination will have to take up the exam at offline centres.

  • Question Paper Division: A total of 50 questions out of 250 will now be from the syllabus of Class 11. 

  • Marks Allotment: Each subject will carry 50 marks, except mathematics, which will carry 100 marks.

  • Papers: The Candidates are tested via three papers according to their stream. 

  • Engineering: Candidates from Engineering will have to select Paper 01 and Paper 02. 

  • Format: The Examination Paper will be in OMR format and Candidates will have to complete the same in 1.5 hours. Each question carries 1 mark for a right answer except for Mathematics wherein each right answer will fetch 2 marks, there are no negative markings on the MHT CET 2018 Examination Paper.

  • Alternate Languages: All papers except the Mathematics paper will be available in Marathi, Urdu apart from English. Candidates are allowed to use only BLACK ballpoint pens.

MHT CET 2018 Syllabus

Syllabus Summary for MHT CET 2018

  • Syllabus Pattern: The Syllabus for the MHT CET 2018 examination will be based on the syllabus of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Education.

  • Candidates should have a look at Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, and Biology for their respective papers.

  • Exam Pattern: Paper I will include questions on Mathematics, paper II on Physics and Chemistry and paper III on Botany and Zoology.

  • The 50 questions in each subject will be divided into 10 questions from class 11 syllabus and 40 questions from class 12 syllabus.

  • A total of 50 questions out of 250 will now be from the syllabus of Class 11. 

MHT CET 2018 Results

Results Summary for MHT CET 2018

  • Results date and access: The Results of the MHT CET 2018 examination will be announced in the month of June 2018 on their official website under the Results Tab. Candidates will have to use their application number, password and security code to access the Result. Candidates are advised to take a hard copy of the Results in pdf format.

  • No personal communication: Candidates should note that the Results will not be emailed or posted to them.

  • Discrepancies: Candidates who have discrepancies with their Results and are willing to verify their marks will have to submit a written request to the concerned authority, along with a Demand Draft of INR 1000/- in favour of the Commissionaire, State CET Cell, Mumbai, payable at Mumbai. 

  • Ultimate decision: If any changes are made, the candidates will be notified. The answer sheet will be sent to the candidate via post after the results have been changed. The decision of the concerned authority will be final and no representations will be entertained after the specified period

MHT CET 2018 Counselling

Summary of MHT CET 2018 Counselling:

  • Candidates selected for the Counselling Process will be informed via a notification on their registered E-mail address or Mobile number.

  • Candidates who have qualified for MHT CET will have to appear for the Counselling process that is conducted by the Directorate of Medical Education and Research for health sciences and pharmacy courses. For Engineering courses, the Board has a separate body. Candidates appearing for the Counselling Process are advised to get all the necessary documents.

  • The process will commence in the mid of June 2018, depending on the merit rank obtained by the Candidate as well as seat availability, the final allotment takes place. The candidate must mandatorily carry the Score Card and Admit Card for MHT CET 2018 to the Counselling venue as specified by the authority.

The access to the results of MHT CET:

  • The result for MHCET will be announced in the month of June. The same will be available at (www.mhcet.co.in) under Result tab.
  • The candidates will have to use their application number, password and security code to access the result.
  • A PDF version and hard copy of result needs to be saved by the candidate for future use and reference.
  • No mark sheet copy will be separately emailed or posted to any candidate.

Verification of the results:

  • Candidates who want to verify their marks will have to submit a written request to the concerned authority. The written request along with the demand draft of 1000 INR should be submitted within 4 days of the declaration of the results. The demand draft should be in favour of the commissionaire, State CET cell, Mumbai, payable at Mumbai.

The cut-off marks in CET is the minimum score by the candidate, which makes him/her eligible to seek the Admission to MBA/MMS course in the State of Maharashtra.

The cut-off mark in MAH MBA/MMS CET is 30 marks out of 200. 

In case of All India CAT [CAT] the Cut-off is the percentile in these CETs equivalent to percentile corresponding to 30 marks in MAH MBA/MMS CET.
