Application Process for NEET 2018

  • NEET 2018 application form will be available on the official website www.cbseneet.nic.in

  • No offline application will be entertained.

  • A modern method has been used to develop the application of NEET in which candidate will be guided on each step that what information is to be given. Following the online instructions, application could be submitted correctly,

  • The candidates who submit false information in the application form for NEET-UG those particular candidate's application form will not be considered and such candidates will be debarred from appearing for the NEET 2018 conducted by CBSE.

  • The candidates who submit an incomplete application form for NEET 2018 those particular candidate's application form will not be considered and will be rejected. NEET 2018 examination fee will not be refunded in such a case.

  • The application form NEET once submitted cannot be withdrawn under any circumstances.

  • The information to be filled in the NEET 2018 online application should be accurate and faultless or else chances are there for the application to get rejected.


 Following list is advised to be prepared by a candidate before starting with the process of an application form. 

  • Name of Father/Mother and Candidate with correct spellings.

  • Aadhaar Number/ Aadhaar Enrolment Number/Registration Number Issued by CBSE Facilitation Number/ Passport number/Ration Card Number/Bank Account Number/ Other valid Govt. Identity card Number.

  • Date of Birth.

  • Address, Mobile Number, Email ID must be kept ready

  • Candidates should have scanned images of their latest photograph (size of 10KB to 100KB) and signature (size of 3KB to 20KB) in JPG format only.

  • The information to be filled in the NEET 2018 online application should be accurate and faultless.

The method of Submission of NEET 2018 Application Form:

  • To find the application for NEET 2018, the candidate must log on to www.cbseneet.nic.in

[Reminder: This will be the only site where a candidate can find the application form for NEET 2018]

  • Go to the link "Apply Online" and open the same.

Further, for purpose of simpleness, Submission of the application form can be divided into four easy steps:

  • Step 1: Fill in the online application form and note down the registration number.
  • Step 2: Upload images of candidate's photograph and signature.
  • Step 3: Make payment of the fee as per available options.
  • Step 4: Take print out of the Confirmation page(s) of online application form and preserve it for future reference along with the copy.

Step 1:

  • Follow the required information to be filled in respective dialogue boxes, and should be done carefully making sure no mistakes are made.

  • Further, all (Indian Residents, Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), overseas citizens(OCIs), Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) and Foreign Nationals) candidates should fill the respective details, making sure all the submitted information is accurate and faultless.

  • Finishing filling the above page.
  • Click "Next" to continue, the page will be redirected to the next page of NEET 2018 application form where the candidate should continue submitting the information as per the requirements of the application form.(as shown below)
  • Click "Back" to the previous page, the website will take the applicant back to the previous page of the application form. For the purpose of filling the incomplete fields and also to correct the errors if any was made by the applicant.
  • At any time during this step, the candidates may keep on saving the data filled in the application form by clicking" Save as Draft".

  • After filling up all the dialogue box without any mistake, reviewing the information to be submitted is must and this can be done by clicking on "Preview and Submit" option. 
  • It is advised for a candidate to go through the Preview with extra care in mind if any mistakes were done, it can be rechecked and corrected.
  • Once the application is submitted no changes can be made later. And if the submitted details turn out to be (wrong/false) details, such applications will be rejected or won't be eligible for admission in any of the medical college associated with NEET-UG 2018. 
  • After reviewing the application form, if all the details are correct. The candidate can submit the application by clicking on "Final Submit".

  • After submitting all correct details, Confirm the final submission by clicking on "Yes, please do".

  • After this step, the Provisional Registration Number of the candidate will be generated and displayed on the screen.
  • The Provisional Registration Number will also be sent to the registered E-mail Id and mobile phone of the candidate.

  • At this stage, the candidate will be given an option to continue filling-up his application by clicking on the link “Continue” or completing the form “Later”.

  • By Clicking on the “continue” the candidate may submit the required information and complete the step-1 of the application form.

  • If “Later” is selected the candidate can log-in to his/her/others account at any time before the last date and complete his application form.


 Step 2:

  • Finishing step 1, The candidate will automatically be redirected to the second link of the application form for uploading the photograph and signature of the candidate.

Candidates are supposed to use images of particular specifications as mentioned below:

  • Latest photograph (size of 10KB to 100KB) of the candidate, in JPG format only.

  • With white background only.

  • Clearly indicating the name of the candidate along with the date of taking the photograph.

  • Spectacles are allowed if being used regularly.

  • Polaroid and computer generated photos are not acceptable.

  • The photograph should not have cap or goggles.

  • Applications not complying with these instructions are liable to be rejected.

  • Candidates may please note that if it is found that photograph affixed is fabricated i.e. de-shaped or seems to be manipulated or digitally edited, the application form of such candidate will be rejected and the same would be considered as using unfair means practices and candidate would accordingly be dealt with as per the rules of unfair means.

[Note: 

  • It is mandatory for the candidate to bring his/her postcard size (4”X6”) photograph indicating clearly the name of the candidate along with the date of taking the photograph duly pasted, during the conduct of NEET Examination.

  • It is advised for the candidate to carry extra photographs to the exam.]

Signature of the candidate

  • Signature (size of 3KB to 20KB) in JPG format only.

  • The candidates are required to upload their signature in the appropriate box given in the online Application Form in running handwriting.

  • Writing full name in the Box in Capital letters would not be accepted as signature and the Application Form would liable to be rejected.

  • Click on "upload" and finish step 2. Make sure the applicant's images are following the specifications.

  • Next, the step is to pay the exam fees.

  • Candidate can review the application form by clicking on"Review Application".

  • If a candidate decides to pay the exam fee through Debit/Credit Card, it is advised to check the validity of the Card and keep it ready while logging on to the website for submitting the application form.

  • The online application website will guide the individual to pay the exam fee.

  • Then kindly follow the instructions as communicated during the online processing.

  • Applicant must Carefully go through the "terms and conditions" and finish the payment.

Payment through Net Banking/UPI

  • If a candidate decides to pay the NEET 2018 exam fee through Net Banking/UPI,

  • The online application website will guide the individual to pay the exam fee.

  • Then kindly follow the instructions as communicated during the online processing.

Payment through e-wallet of various service providers.

  • If a candidate decides to pay exam the fee through e-wallet,

  • The online application website will guide the individual to pay the exam fee.

  • Then kindly follow the instructions as communicated during the online processing.

After making the payment options confirm the payment mode by clicking on "yes, Please do"

Instruction to be noted by applicant while paying the application fee

  • Applicant must Carefully go through the "terms and conditions" and finish the payment.

  • After Print the Confirmation Page (Step-4) of online application after submission Step-3

  • In the case of debit/credit card/ Net Banking/UPI/e-wallet, if an applicant fails to complete Step-2 of online application and a further payment of the exam fee as per Step-3, final Submission of online application will remain incomplete and unsuccessful in all modes of payment of the fee.

  • After submission of the application form, it cannot be withdrawn. Claims for refund of application fee will not be entertained.


 Step 4:

  • Follow the instructions and remit the fee. After successful remittance of fee, the program will take the applicant to step-4 to take print out of Confirmation Page.

  • Follow the instructions to take the print out of Confirmation Page.

  • Applicants are advised to preserve the NEET 2018 application confirmation page and proof of payment of fee safely for any future reference. 


Qualifications and Qualifying examination codes:

Code 01

A candidate who is appearing for the qualifying examination, i.e. 12th Standard in 2017, whose result is awaited, may apply and take up the said test but he/she shall not be eligible for admission to the MBBS or BDS, if he/she does not pass the qualifying examination with the required pass percentage of marks at the time of first round of Counselling.

Code 02

The Higher/Senior Secondary Examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination which is equivalent to 10+2 Higher/Senior Secondary Examination after a period of 12 years study, the last two years of such study comprising of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology (which shall include practical tests in these subjects) and Mathematics or any other elective subject with English at a level not less than the core course for English as prescribed by the National Council of Educational Research and Training after introduction of the 10+2+3 educational structure as recommended by the National Committee on Education. NOTE: Where the course content is not as prescribed for 10+2 education structure of the National Committee, the candidates will have to undergo a period of one-year pre-professional training before admission to the Medical Colleges.

The Intermediate/Pre-degree Examination in Science of an Indian University/Board or other recognized examining body with Physics, Chemistry, Biology /Biotechnology (which shall include the practical test in these subjects) and also English as a compulsory subject.

Code 04

The Pre-professional/Pre-medical Examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology & English after passing either the Higher Secondary Examination or the Pre-University or an equivalent examination. The Pre-professional/Pre-medical examination shall include the practical test in these subjects and also English as a compulsory subject.

Code 05

The first year of the three years’ degree course of a recognised University with Physics, Chemistry and Biology/ Biotechnology including practical tests in these subjects provided the examination is a University Examination and candidate has passed the earlier qualifying examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Biotechnology with English at a level not less than a core course.

Code 06

B.Sc. Examination of an Indian University provided that he/she has passed the B.Sc. Examination with not less than two of the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany, Zoology)/Bio-technology and further that he/ she has passed the earlier qualifying examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English.

Code 07

Any other examination which in scope and standard (Last 02 years of 10+2 Study comprising of Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology; Which shall include practical test in these subjects) is found to be equivalent to the Intermediate Science Examination of an Indian University/Board, taking Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology including practical tests in each of these subjects and English. Provided that to be eligible for competitive entrance examination, the candidate must have passed any of the qualifying examinations as enumerated above or appearing in the qualifying examination in 2017.

Provided also that to be eligible for competitive Entrance Test the candidate must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology at the qualifying examination as mentioned in clause (2) of regulation 4 on Graduate Medical Education 1997 and in addition must have come in the merit list of NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY ENTRANCE TEST (UG) – 2017 for admission to MBBS/BDS courses. In respect of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes or Other Backward Classes, the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology took together in qualifying examination shall be 40% marks instead of 50% marks for General Candidates

Further, for persons with locomotory disability of lower limbs, minimum of 45% marks for Gen-PH and 40% marks for SC-PH/ST-PH/OBC-PH are required. Provided further that the students educated abroad seeking admission into medical colleges in India must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Biotechnology and English up to the 12th standard level with 50% marks and their equivalency determined as per regulations of the Medical Council of India and the concerned University.

The NEET registration process involves:
