PU CET 2018 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for appearing in PU CET 2018 are as follows:

  • Educational Qualifications: All those candidates who have passed/appeared (up to the Academic Session 2016-2018) in the 10+2 Examination of the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi or its equivalent Examination conducted by a recognized Board/University/Council shall be eligible to appear in the PU CET 2018 (U.G.) Entrance exam.

  • Note: The candidates having the compartment in 10+2 examination held in March-2018 will not be eligible for admission in the course. The candidates who do not appear in PU – CET (U.G.) Entrance Test or who do not qualify PU – CET (U.G.) Entrance Test shall not be considered for admission.

  • Nationality: The eligibility criteria for the applicant is to be an Indian citizen 

  • NRI: Non-Resident Indians can apply via NRI quota to get the eligibility criteria

  • Caste Certificate: Applicant belonging to SC Category must submit the certificate regarding their category duly signed by the officers mentioned in the form. Applications containing the signature of any other officer will not be accepted to get the eligibility criteria.

Reservation system for PU CET 2018:

  • For the Physically Handicapped person is provided as follows:

1st preference

Candidate  suffering from Locomotor disabilities of Lower Limbs between 50% - 70%

2nd preference

Candidates suffering from Locomotor Disabilities of Lower Limbs between 40% - 50%

  • Applicants will be enrolled under the eligibility criteria laid down by the Chandigarh Administration/Panjab University, Chandigarh.

  • Applicants who are blind, (including colour blind) deaf, and dumb are not in the eligibility criteria.

 Age Limit for PU CET 2018:

  • The applicant must be 17 years of age as on 31st December in the year of enrolment for being able to cover up the eligibility criteria to apply for PU CET 2018 for the undergraduate courses.

am ieligible to get admission in pu after being one of the lakhs qualified students?

I want to go to join upsc in future .i want to be graduate and i dont know which science strem should i must opt and iwant to graduate through pu and i have qualified with percentile 67.557,my plus 2percentage is 92 but im still wondering that will i be able to get addmission through counselling or not(((???????

Hi Raj,

1)Generally, 53.5% of the seats in each course shall be treated as belonging to the General Category.
2) 46.5% seats shall be treated as belonging to the Reserved Category, as per details are given below:
(i) 15% for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes.
(ii) 7.5% for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Tribes.
(iii) 5% for candidates belonging to the Backward Classes.

The eligibility criteria regarding educational qualification for the PU CET exam is as below: -

  • The candidates should have passed/appeared in the 10+2 examination of the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi or any equivalent Examination.
  • The candidates should have had Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English in their qualifying examination. 
  • The exam should be conducted by a recognised Board or University.
  • The candidates who have passed/appeared in the 10+2 examination of Mahila Gram Vidyapeeth, Allahabad are not eligible to appear in the PU CET (BHMS) Entrance Test, as this institution has been derecognised by Punjab University, Chandigarh.

Here we have mentioned the eligibility for BHMS course:

  • Students should have completed the age of 17 years as or on 31st December of the year of admission.
  • Only Indian National candidates are eligible to apply (except NRI quota).
  • Candidates must have passed 12th or equivalent exam from any recognized board with physics, chemistry and mathematics subjects.

The eligibility criteria for appearing in PU CET UG are as follows:

1. Applicant must have passed or appeared in the 10+2 Examination of the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English subjects or its equivalent Examination conducted by a recognised Board or University to cover all the eligibility criteria.

2. Applicants who have passed/appeared in 10+2 Examinations of Mahila Gram Vidyapeeth, Allahabad are not in the eligibility criteria to appear in the PU CET (BHMS) Entrance Test, as this institution has been derecognised by Punjab University, Chandigarh.  A list of recognised universities can be obtained from the official website of PU CET UG.

3. The eligibility criteria for the applicant is to be an Indian citizen 

4. Foreign citizens can apply via NRI quota to get the eligibility criteria

5. Applicant belonging to SC Category must submit the certificate regarding their category duly signed by the officers mentioned in the form.
