About Punjab PMET 2018 

The Punjab Medical Entrance Test is the aggressive placement test sorted out by the Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot. It is a standout amongst the most prominent Medical Entrance Examinations led in India. The PMET examination is completed for the admission to a few undergrad therapeutic courses to the medicinal schools in Punjab that are partnered to this college.

The examination is conducted for allotment of approximately 800 MBBS seats in 8 Medical and 1200 BDS seats in 11 dental colleges of Punjab. PUNJAB PMET 2018 Eligibility

  • Eligibility criteria regarding age limit: The candidates must be 17 years on or before of the admission year.
  • Eligibility criteria regarding education: The candidate must have passed their 10+2 examination or any other equivalent examination. Candidates should have passed Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English individually to be eligible. The candidates should have passed their 12th standard examination from a school located in Punjab or Chandigarh.
  • Eligibility criteria regarding qualifying marks: The General category candidates must have obtained minimum 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English. The SC/ST category candidates must have obtained minimum 40% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English.
  • Eligibility criteria regarding Nationality: The candidates should be from Punjab.
  • Wards of defense/military/paramilitary personnel posted in Punjab are eligible. Defense/military/paramilitary personnel who were posted in Punjab and then posted to another state but their children are studying in Punjab are also eligible. Children of a state government person or employee of boards/corporations/statutory bodies, established by an act of the state of Punjab, posted outside Punjab before January 1st of the year of admission and took the 12th examination from outside Punjab, are also eligible.


PUNJAB PMET 2018 Application Process

  • Procedure: The candidates have to visit the official website and register. They have to fill in their personal details and then proceed to the main registration where the login ID and password should be entered. The candidate has to select an exam center and check the information once and then click on the final submit button. In the final step the candidate must pay the fees.  
  • Reservation of seats: There is 25%, 5%, 2%, 3% and 1% reservation of seats for the SC, BC, Backward area/Border area, Physically handicapped/orthopedically handicapped only and Sports persons category candidates respectively. There is 1% reservation for the Backward area candidates and there is 1% reservation for the Border area candidates.
  • Application form availability: The Punjab PMET application forms will be available from 3rd April 2018 to 26th May 2018. The candidates can get the prospectus online or from the university campus after paying Rs. 300/- only.
  • Application fee: The application fee should be paid by the first week of May 2018. The fee is Rs. 5000 for the General category candidates and Rs. 2500 for the SC category candidates.

PUNJAB PMET 2018 Application Form Details

  • Punjab PMET Application form availability date: The Punjab PMET application forms will be available from 3rd April 2018 to 26th May 2018.
  • Submission of application form: Candidates who are eligible need to fill up the application form and submit it. Candidates need to take a printout of the application form for future reference.
  • Application fees payment mode: Candidates are required to pay the application fee via online payment gateway or through a bank challan.




PUNJAB PMET 2018 Admit Card

  • Admit card availability date: The admit card will be available from 8th June 2018 
  • Procedure: The candidate has to download the admit card from the official website. It will not be sent by post or through an email. The candidate has to login to the official website and enter their registered email ID and password to access the admit card. The admit card should be downloaded n printed.
  • Non-availability of the admit card: The candidate should contact the office of the registrar by email, phone or fax in case of non-availability of the admit card.
  • Mandatory document: The admit card is a mandatory document and should be brought to the exam. The admit card should kept till the end of the admission process.
  • Rectification: If there is any rectification to be made then it should be done before the exam.
  • Plagiarizing: If the admit card is plagiarised then the candidate will be debarred or there will be strict action taken.


PUNJAB PMET 2018 Exam Pattern

  • Medium: The Punjab PMET exam will be conducted in English only.
  • Number of questions: There will be 200 multiple choice questions.
  • Subjects: The subjects are Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Zoology.
  • Marking scheme: Each question will carry four marks.
  • Negative marking: There will be no negative marking. However, one mark will be deducted for an unanswered question.
  • Duration: The exam will be for a duration of 3 hours.
  • Subject wise mark allocation: Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology will have 50 questions each. Each section will carry 200 marks.




PUNJAB PMET 2018 Syllabus

  • The syllabus is based on the 10+2 subjects.
  • Physics: The topics are Physical World and Measurement Physics, Kinematics Frame of reference, Laws of Motion, Work, Energy and Power, Motion of System, Gravitation , etc.
  • Chemistry: The topics are Some Basic Concepts of Chemistry, Structure of Atom, Classification of Elements and Periodicity in Properties, Chemical Bonding and Molecular Structure, States of Matter: Gases and Liquids, etc.
  • Biology: The topics are Diversity in Living, Structural Organization in Animals and Plants, Cell Structure and Function, Plant Physiology, etc.







PUNJAB PMET 2018 Results

  • Result Date: The Punjab PMET result will be declared on 22nd June 2018 
  • Procedure: The candidate must log on to the official website and click on the desired program on the website. The candidate must then enter their ID and Date of birth and click on the submit option. The result will be displayed on the screen.
  • Merit list: The merit list will be prepared on the basis of the marks scored by the candidates.
  • Answer key: An answer key will be published by the University.


PUNJAB PMET 2018 Counselling

  • Counselling date: The counselling process will begin on 10th July 2018 and will end on July 11th, 2018 
  • Documents: The documents to be brought to the counselling process are the 10th standard certificates, the 12th standard certificates, Punjab PMET 2018 Admit card, Punjab PMET 2018 Rank Card / Result card (if applicable), Category certificate (SC/ST/OBC/Other) signed by the authorized authority, Character certificate, Passport size photographs, Punjab residence certificate, Bank Challan Form for Online Payment of requisite fee, after affixing self attested recent photograph regarding Gap year, if there is Gap after 10+2 examination and Other supportive documents mentioned in Punjab PMET 2018 counselling form.
  • Procedure: The candidate has to log on to the official website and click on the 'Punjab PMET-2018 counselling' link. Now the counselling schedule and dates will be displayed. The candidate has to open the registration form and read the information given and then enter the required details. In the last step the candidate has to pay the fees via bank challan. The candidate must bring all the documents with them and take a print out of the form and receipt of payment.
  • Procedure for Allotment of seats: Candidates will be selected on the basis of merit and choice of college. The computer will check the availability of seats in that particular college. If there are any Government quota seats then the seat will be allotted to the candidate. Once the seat is allotted the candidate needs to report to the allotted college for document verification. Candidates must pay the application fees via bank challan. Candidates must report to the college with their documents and a print out of the allotment letter.
