RRB NTPC 2018 Introduction:

  • About: The Railway Recruitment Board of India is commonly known as RRB. Railway Recruitment Board is a government organization set up in 1998 by the Ministry of Railways, New Delhi to monitor the recruitment process of employees for the various RRBs. There are a total of 21 RRBs set up in various cities of the country as mentioned below:

  • Objectives: 
    • RRB formulates the policies regarding recruitment process for various posts.

    • RRB monitors the expenditure incurred for recruitment. 

    • The board monitors the performance of the concerned RRB and indicates any changes required as per priority.

  • Recruitment Category:

    • NTPC: Candidates aspiring to pursue a career in Indian Railway under a Non-Technical Popular Category (NTPC) will have to appear for RRB NTPC examination. RRB conducts Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) exam to recruit Commercial Apprentice, Goods Guard, Traffic Apprentice, Traffic Assistant, Assistant Station Master etc. The exam is expected to be conducted in the month of April 2018 and its application form will be available from 3rd December 2017 (tentative) onwards. 

    • ALP & Technicians: RRB conducts a computer-based test to recruit candidates applying for the posts of Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) & Technicians. 

  • Payscale:

    • ALP & Technician: Level 02 of 7th CPC Pay Matrix with initial pay of INR 19900/- plus other allowances as admissible.

    • NTPC: Level 01 of 7th CPC Pay Matrix with initial pay of INR 18000/- plus other allowances admissible at that time.

RRB NTPC 2018 Vacancy:

  • Position: There are vacancies for several posts in different RRBs which may increase or decrease as per the requirement of Railway Administration. 

  • Reservations: There are reservations provided for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC categories. Further reservation is provided to ex-servicemen, PWD candidates and widowed/separated women.

RRB NTPC 2018 Syllabus: 

  • Curriculum: The RRB NTPC exam will have questions from 4 sections which are Arithmetic ability, Reasoning and General Intelligence, General Awareness and General Science.

RRB NTPC 2018 Exam Pattern:

  • Structure: The RRB NTPC Exam is conducted in 2 rounds. The first exam is Prelims Exam followed by the second exam which is the Mains Exam.

  • Marking Scheme: There will be a total of 100 questions each carrying 1 mark. Total time duration provided is 90 minutes.0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer. Find Mock/Sample Papers here.

  • Applicaton form: The candidates who are wishing to apply for the RRB NTPC Posts can apply online from the official website of RRB NTPC.

  • Application Fee: The candidates who are wishing to apply for the NTPC Posts can make their application fee payment through Debit/Credit card or Internet Banking or e- challan or pay-in-slip from any bank.

RRB NTPC 2018 Admit Card:

  • Admit card release date:  The RRB NTPC will release the First Stage Examination Admit Card 7 to 10 days prior to the examination.

RRB NTPC 2018 Results:

  • Details: The shortlisted and final candidate list will be available on the official website a few days after the exam is conducted. The official notification of results dates have not yet been released.

  • To Check Results: The candidates can check their results by using their roll number and name. Only those candidates will be shortlisted for the 2nd stage of the examination if they have cleared the first stage of the examination.

RRB NTPC 2018 Eligibility

RRB NTPC 2018 Eligibility Summary:

Nationality:

A candidate must be

  • a citizen of India,

  • a subject of Nepal,

  • a subject of Bhutan,

  • a Tibetan refugee who came to India on 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India

 Educational Qualification:

  • Candidate have to complete graduation from recognized Institute or University

  • Candidate must have results of his/her final exam

  • Candidate must have original documents for the verification

  • Candidates, age must be in the range of 18 to 32 years, age relation is given to the candidate belonging to SC, ST, OBC, PWD, and Women.

  • All candidates should have Medical Clearance Certificate and it is mandatory

Typing Proficiency:

  • For English, typing speed should be 30 words per minute and

  • For Hindi Language, typing speed should be 25 words per minute

  • Click on the new registration tab to fill the application form, Candidates name and Parents name should be mentioned as per the Matriculation or Secondary Certification

  • Select the examination centre, five cities as per your preference

  • Questions from Bar Graphs, Pie Charts, Line Graphs, tables will be asked under the head of ‘Data Interpretation’.
  • Questions on Boats & Streams, Trains’ speed, Time & Distance, Pipe & Cistern, Time & Work

The schedule of examination is published in the Local Newspapers of Zonal jurisdiction, Employment notice / Rojgar Samachar and on this Website. Railway Recruitment Board also sends call letters to the eligible candidates under UPC for the examination. The Call letters are sent to the candidates before 1 month of the scheduled date. However, RRB Mumbai is not responsible for any postal delay, wrong delivery or less in transit for RRB NTPC 2017
