Application process for TNEA 2018

  • The filing of form for TNEA begins from 3rd May 2018.
  • The candidate can login to the official website. 
  • Candidates who have satisfied the eligibility criteria need to fill the form online and send it via post to Secretary along with the requisite documents. The candidates can also submit it in person at one of the 50 TNEA Admission centres.
  • The process of application for TNEA will last from the last week of May 2018.
  • The candidates are advised to refer to the exam pattern, syllabus and counselling details as well.

Once the applications have been submitted, the next step is called "Application Scrutiny" wherein the concerned authorities verify whether all the details submitted by the candidate are legit or not. Ranks are published for all the applicants who clear the scrutiny process.

The process of rank publication is as follows:

The marks of all the candidates across the different boards are normalised and the final merit list is prepared considering the following attributes:

  • Percentage of marks scored in Mathematics.
  • Percentage of marks scored in Physics.
  • Percentage of marks scored in Chemistry.
  • Percentage of marks scored in the fourth optional subject.
  • Age (older candidates are given a higher preference).

The candidates will receive a counselling call letter which the candidate must download. This is followed by a single-window counselling.

The registration process for TNEA 2018 involves:

  • Visit the official website and fill in your name, date of birth, gender and email id.
  • Click the Proceed button.
  • Fill in the personal and education details.
  • Click SUBMIT.
  • Note the Application number.
  • Payment of fees through Net Banking/ Debit Card/ Credit Card or Demand Draft.

Important documents for TNEA 2018:

The candidate who has covered-up all the eligibility criteria are required to attach photocopies of following documents:

  • Candidate’s Class 10th Mark Sheet
  • Candidate’s Class 12th Mark Sheet
  • Candidate’s Transfer Certificate, issued by the school
  • Demand draft, if applicable
  • Permanent Community Certificate Card for candidates belonging to ST, SC, SCA, MBC & DNC, BC and BCM
  • Class XII Admit Card
  • Nativity Certificate, if applicable(in electronic form/digitally signed e-Certificate)
  • First Graduate Certificate and First Graduate Joint Declaration, if applicable
  • Sri Lankan Tamil Refugee certificate, if applicable
  • Relevant certificates for children of Ex-Serviceman / Freedom Fighter / Differently Abled Person and Eminent Sports Persons, if applicable.

Payment of fee for TNEA:

The candidate who has fulfilled the eligibility criteria can pay the fees through the following methods:

  • The Application fees for the examination is Rs. 500/- for general category.
  • The application fees for candidates who belong to SC/ ST/ SCA category is Rs. 250/-
  • The applicant can pay the fees through Net Banking, Debit card, Credit card, Demand draft.

  • You have to fill the form and click on the save and exit option and not on the submit and print option. Once you get your results you have to update the marks on your online application form and then click on the submit and print option. Do not submit and print the form without filling out the details.
